They're trying too hard to make us think Alphy/a scion will die to shift the focus off the player character. Alphanaud comes close to dying, we sacrifice ourselves saving him/killing Zodiark/Hydelyn, whoever, we say goodbye, and die. We come back through shenanigans but we're no longer the WoL/without Hydelyn's blessing.
The storyline we've been having about curing tempering and the artificial Echo is foreshadowing how we avoid being tempered killing primals going forward after Endwalker, without the Echo.
What's got me hyped up is the fact that starting narrations were by Emet.. So we'll probably see our old friend again at some point =)
If alphi dies then I'm gunna be eternally sad
