i Hope Lyse gets alot better.
I like her fisty cups fighting aditude but outside of that the criticisms of here are all pretty spot on.
Lyse blows. She is thrust into role of “resistance leader” despite doing nothing to deserve it, and never doing any actual leading. She whines the entire time and her entire involvement is predicated on nepotism. She berates regular, despondent villagers for not immediately dying for her cause because she’s so and so’s daughter. Even ignoring all that, just interpersonally, she comes off as extremely unlikeable.

Man it was crazy. I actually liked Lyse, and for a while I saw a lot of people absolutely hating her and I couldn't figure out why.
Then it hit me when I started watching some streamers play through. I had skipped..a decent amount of the ala mhigo story cutscenes cuz I was rushing to catch up to some friends at the time.
I had liked Lyse because I had seen so little of her aside from a lot of fight scenes. But now actually seeing her through people's playthroughs holy shit is she insufferable. Things that if someone else said would be fine, but her saying it you just want her to shut up. It's kinda sad actually because I think she could have been made really interesting in this expansion but damn she wasn't handled well at all.
The Doma side of everything though, MMMM that's good.

Lyse is one of the reasons Stormblood 4.0 was awful, it is known. No need to feel bad about seeing her as a horrible and annoying character, because she is, she's in the M'rey Sue category of very bad schlock.

It's not that anyone has to love Lyse at all. For me it's that the constant bashing of Lyse schtick has become old and tedious. Yes we get it, you don't like the character. A joke or two was funny but to continue with the same gag every single time she gets a scene is nothing short of annoying at some point. Lastly, the nature of the joke itself has become more and more apparent. First it was with the intention of making cracks and jokes about the writing, after a while however; I have noticed that it has become a bit personal and more akin to bullying. Yes Lyse is a fictional character, but I'm not gonna lie; seeing someone throw verbal abuse at "someone" rubs me the wrong way. Be it animate or inanimate.

When your villain character Fordola is significantly more liked than your 'hero' character Lyse, you know someone messed up with the scenario writing. I think what's even more crazy is that Fordola was originally going to be executed after 4.0 which would have soured it even more in my eyes. They did Yda dirty.

The frustration of having to deal with Lyse in Stormblood made me fully resonate with the DRK story quests. Thank god for the Tsukuyomi storyline.

I understand pyros frustrations with Lyse as they were mine too going through STB. Honestly the whole Lyse story was not needed. We could have just as easily had her continue as yda and not feel like we have lost 4/6 years of a character instead of a stranger who acts wofully ignorant and dull through most of her dialogue.
I would have loved for an older yda to guide us through ala migo. She could have been older as we never saw her face in game as she wore a mask. But she had the experience of watching the nation fall and fleeing for her life to the scions and the burden of carrying on her father's creed with some actuall weight behind it. We would also be more connected to the alamigan characters as there would be history. But oh well they went another way 🤷
When "trash character" have still more personality and better character, than streamer who calls her trash. Yayks.
