I really like the portrayal of the Fae here. Innocent but deadly.
Also, keep in mind that Ishgard originally had a much more temperate climate before the 7th Umbral Calamity. In some of the clips from FF14 1.0, you can see some of Coerthas (and maybe even Foundation, the capitol city of Ishgard) in the background. It was a lot more green before Bahamut wrecked the continent and sent Ishgard into a far more Arctic environment. You can even see people trying to grow crops near the Observatorium in the Coerthas Central Highlands, and I believe when you talk to them they'll bring up the severe change in climate.
