I've thought making friends is easy. I made a linkshell with a good 20 other people during the MGP event. I'm in a linkshell with a couple dozen people named claire. I'm in a linkshell with 100 or so people just because I'm a lala. Just go to areas people gather and join in conversation.
If you go to a city-hub, ppl are pretty friendly. I’ve ran around gridania and met a few ppl since coming back to the game a few weeks ago.
