Is This FF14's Craziest Job Change Menu?

Thanks to @MissLilianae for sharing her cool job change menu. Find her on:

* Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/misslilianae

I’ve added some of my own layers to this in an effort to push the HUD to its limits. Maybe somewhere along the way you’ll find your optimal, practical system!

__________Commands Used__________
/hudlayout X (changes to HUD layout number X)
/hotbar copy MIN X share Y (copies Miner hotbar X over to shared hotbar Y)
/hotbar share X on/off (turns hotbar sharing for hotbar number X on or off)
/character (toggles the character window)
/gearset (toggles the gearset window)
/gearset close (for some reason, solves issues with gearset window, not supposed to be an actual command)

Basic job change macro:
/gs change X gearset

(gs short for “gearset”. Typing “/gearset” would also work. Gearset at the end is a necessary part of the line) (replace X with the gearset number you want. Check your gearset numbers at the top of your character menu)

Advanced job change macro ideas:
/micon “Paladin” classjob (to give it the Paladin shield icon – use other names…)
/micon 1 gearset (to give it the Paladin shield icon because that’s my slot 1 gearset)

/merror off
(potentially avoid *some* error messages – haven’t tested how much this does)
/gs change 1 2 gearset (1 changes to my slot 1 gearset, 2 links a glamour plate)
/hotbar change 1 (if using a swappable hotbar system like this one: https://youtu.be/8TnB4tFSEtM
)
/hud “Parameter Bar” on (on a class that uses MP, turn off if not)

/title set “The Oathkeeper”
/ac “Iron Will” (tank stance or summon pet) (needs to be done after a 1 second wait at least)
/displayhead off (to automatically handle headgear)
/hotbar display 10 off (if you want the menu to close when you click one. I keep mine on.)
/mount dismount (if you want to make sure you leave your mount first so summoning and stance don’t fail [unless in the air])

  1. I think I do something simpler with my hotbars, they're essentially collapsible hot bars that uses 9 and 10 as a base, and 4 through 8 as where I put all the macros. Just drag the gear icons from the gear list (which changes your job in one click, not using any macro space) to the base class job bar you will copy from in macros. I lay 10 down in the bottom right corner as a 12×1 (horizontal), then put 9 above the rightmost cell as a 1×12 (vertical). That rightmost cell toggles the visibility of 9 and all other shared bars. And on 9 there are macros for the DPS, support, and crafter gatherer. Clicking any toggles one of the bars visibility and you select the job you want.

  2. I have a similar system as you. With opening a menu, selecting the role, and then getting all the jobs of that role. I use the conjurer /Gladiator/arcanist hotbars as a sort of save space for the hotbars that are being copied over.

Only issue is that I had to move the melee dps to the tank section because I was running out of space in the dps section.

  3. Mine is just one bar that copies layouts from unused bars in my crafting/gathering jobs using the command 'xhotbar/hotbar copy JOB # JOB2 #'. Get a Job macro > Job Role > Job. Works much better for controllers and doesnt use bars from combat jobs if you still need those.

Sadly the command doesn't work in pvp.

  4. mine is much simpler, i have a vertical hotbar on the right with 11 jobs and the 12th button is to cycle through the 3 (for the moment) job sets (sure, healers are splitted between the 1st and second set but i did not want to create a fourth one)

  5. I do something similar with collapsible hotbars without swapping HUD's. For example if i want to swap to a Warrior i have a macro on my hotbar with a tank icon and the command "/hotbar display 8" which opens up a hidden hotbar with all the tank jobs. I then click the warrior one, which is a macro that says "/gearset change 7" and "/hotbar display 8" which swaps to Warrior and automatically closes down the tank job hotbar. Between all the jobs it uses a total of 5 hotbars.

  6. I don't know how it never occurred to me that shared bars can be used as data place holders even when they are disabled. Super cool tricks here, especially when you apply it to controller players limited button sets.
Is there any browser for micon options?

  7. I thought all you have to do is set your gearset for your class and swap using the gearset menu idk what all this hotbar stuff is actually useful for, outside of maybe wanting to simplify controller gameplay?

  9. Do keep in mind that this is a hypercomplicated version of something that can be done simply. I wanted to push the limits! This is also not exactly as Miss Lilianae's version, which can be broken down if you're interested. The job change menu I use is found here: https://youtu.be/X3tgSHTUkr8

Hey, send me a screenshot of your job change system if you'd like! Eorzeon@gmail.com

  10. My layout is very similar instead of swapping HUD layouts, I hide hotbars 1-4, 9, and 10 +HUD elements and show 5-8 (5-8 are shared with job changes) 9 is menu bar and 10 is cycling custom menu that uses the non-jobstone classes as data holders for hotbar 10. When I select a job it hides 5-8 and shows everything that was previously hidden. That was I can do it on any job I’m currently on.

Because of how it works with hotbars and HUD elements, can you do this to “force” open/close those windows?

    /character off
    /gearset off

    /character on
    /gearset on

  11. Im a sprout and this is my first time using macros and ive been trying to set this up, everythings working perfectly except the shared hotbars, everytime i switch to another class the shared hotbars just turn into miner stuff. Any help?

  12. The copy to shared is a nice idea. I used to do something similar when I first started, but as I progressed I started needing the hotbar space, and more importantly, macro slots for more game play related stuff like call outs, emotes and such. Nowadays I just keybind the gear set menu and use that.

  13. Ooo this dropped just when I needed it… I don't level all the jobs but I'd like to make them nice and tidy and role based.
Whitemage is my main and always has been, but Paladin is my tank, Monk is my melee dps, Picto is my caster.
And soon I'll have Summoner/Scholar and Bard. – I'm trying to cover my bases.
