As someone who barely has Dark Knight at 70, I really disliked it for the majority of the leveling process. Having so many Abilities to weave is fun for an opener but made the rest of the time spent waiting for them to cooldown very boring. Especially spamming a single AoE while I wait for the 2 AoE Abilities to cooldown. There is the ability for the Darkside buff (I don't know any skill names) but it feels very inconsistent because of costing MP and such.
I prefer the feeling of working up to your burst window by building up a meter like Warrior or Gunbreaker rather than just waiting for a cooldown.
As someone whos only “hard” instance experience being diamond weapon, i always felt that having TBN and not having tbn when playing gunbreaker makes so much difference

War is best on "big number make monkey brain happy" as its Berserk Fell Cleave 5 DCrits is unmatched.
Gunbreaker has best aesthetic tho I hate armor and that Idealized Bodyguard Coat in Ruby Red is so sexy
I love playing drk, but dread getting matched with other drks. Cause some of them are stupid enough to overwrite my tbn with theirs.
Still havent even dipped a toe in savage but I do "main" gunbreaker. I really like that I can sit on a few cartridges and still get "bonus" damage each rotation and be able to go whole hog when I feel comfortable. Plus I just like its more trenchcoat asthetic rather than plate.
Also its a bit lame but if the healer goes down spamming just 1 2 for the self heal/shield its basically like a 400 self heal every other gcd. Saved my ass when a boosted healer went down every boss in the dungeon.
what's the GNB Rotation you use?
DRK rotation being the same as WAR except with a few more oGCDs is a trap that alot of bad DRKs fall into. It's a 60s burst class, not a 90s one, and has comparable APM to GNB, which really doesn't have much complexity since your cooldowns lineup so smoothly that you never have to worry too much about optimization.
Just wanna say thank you very much for the video and all the information but I have one critique that you could either listen to or say forget you and MoveOn. I listen to this video along with many others while I am driving so I do not always get to look at the screen. I greatly appreciate all of the information and time that it takes to compile all of it however I find myself getting lost from time to time because you speak very fast and at times it feels like one giant run-on sentence. I May be alone here but I would just like to throw out my thought and possibly have the comment as constructive criticism. I know all of you Youtubers probably get a lot of hate comments and negative comments down here and please understand that it’s not what I’m trying to do. I like your content and I would just like to enjoy it more.

As a SAM main I play GNB because it's basically just blue Samurai.
Pick DRK if you want to be cool, GNB if you want to be lame, and the others if you need a break from DRK's extreme coolness. I'm kidding here but just going on like, aesthetics and stuff, I definitely prefer DRK, PLD, WAR, GNB in that order.
Mechanically I prefer DRK, like PLD and WAR, and never want to play GNB again because it feels like it's just pieces of the other 3 tanks cobbled together with the aesthetics of one of the shittiest FF games, FF8.
This video really misses the depth of DRK and all the weaving involved in playing it well. That's part of why I like DRK the most. GNB has jack shit to do that's oGCD, like 3 abilities that aren't defensive cooldowns that are also oGCD for all the other tanks, so those don't really count. WAR's lack of oGCD is definitely a weak point in it for me, but its other mechanics feel better defined than GNB's "1 2 3 and then do your powder charge based 1 2 3 with the one oGCD move."

I like GNB and PLD a lot, and warrior not so much. I'd like DRK more if they had more tools to manage mana or to regenerate mana more kinda like from GNBs Bloodfest or the amount of utility you can do as PLD.
Warrior just feels really slow and I don't like it, and with DRK, its almost the same when I'm trying to be good about saving mana for clone; burst windows on DRK also feel really slow.
War is my favorite tank because of the simplicity of the rotation and the healing which leaves stress off of me and can focus on damage or healing for the group . Pld is my second . Drk and gnb
I’m a tank/healer player. I rarely play DPS and when I do, it is RDM.
So…
Me: WAR >= GNB > PLD > DRK.
If I’m healing, Unless, the person knows how to play a WAR it goes: PLD > GNB > DRK > WAR
I use controller and that puts Pal off my list because a lot of those buttons/abilities need to be dropped or combined.
