  1. I've only been playing for about 4 days now so there are lots I don't know.

But a funny one is I didn't know teleporting took gold and used it constantly until one time it said I couldn't and realized I had no gold left

  2. Month late, Buuuut… when I first started, I didn't realize the currency for teleporting to aetherytes was just small amounts of gil. I thought it was some form of Premium currency. So I used the Chocobo Porters to get from town to town. Since that says "Gil" instead of using the Gil SYMBOL… I was not smart

  4. Just started playing in the past week. I finished ARR without changing my job to a paladin. Was a Gladiator up until level 53 until someone in my party asked why I was still a Gladiator. LOL.

  5. Veteran players really do eventually forget the early struggles of grasping multiple interlocking systems after they've adjusted.

I've had to catch myself multiple times when giving advice or free stuff to struggling newbs in warframe, because at this point it's all natural to me instead of the complex mess that it is.

Like, new players would have no idea what I mean if I answer their "how do I use this weapon?" with "Check IPS order and Status/Crit to see if you should build this weapon either Viral/Slash, Corrosive/Heat, or Crit/Hunter Mumu, also don't forget to slap in a purple potato, have fun in Hydron" XD

  6. My problems are learning some rotations and understanding the skills. Learning and remembering dungeons, It's one thing to watch a video about the dungeon, but most dungeon videos are outdated, they still have cross skills, which are NO MORE, and sometimes none of the videos show the class you are playing.

  7. as a tank main the regen aggro thing i dont care about as long as the healer moves over to me so i can grab it again. its the ones that run the opposite direction that are annoying. i never understood that with new healers. the concept of a tank they apparently understand because they stay behind me so why is it the moment they get hit there natural instinct is to run away from me?

  9. I'm level 65 and new to MMO's. I still don't know the lingo or how most dungeons should be played. My strategy of "press buttons to win " hasn't failed me yet.

  10. I started as a gladiator, but didn't get my palidin soul until lvl 40. I was queuing up for dungeon and switch to the samurai job, so I look at armors . I went into a hard dungeon with nothing on, but my tighty whities, sword, and shield.

  11. Even as someone who has been playing mmo's since eq1, some of these comments were familiar.

The thing(s) that "confused" me is, my first and only character, a gladiator/paladin, IS the tank in a dungeon/duty. Theres no option to be dps, or whatever. Ok, fine… But dungeons/duties are mandatory for progressing the MSQ! No pressure. Even saying its my first time ever, they still expect me to know where to go and do it fast fast. After a bunch of em, I'm m actually considering changing class to not be a tank/heals my first time around.

  12. 5:10 Honestly, why dont they just make it so at 30 you do the job quest, and BOOM, Now you're a PLD or WAR or w/e, permanently? I get there was some kind of benefit to not using the crystal a LOOOOONG ass time ago, but not anymore. Hell, why even force a job quest for it to happen? Just make your class change names when you hit the 30 mark… or better yet, just let every class start as the name of their final class. I like the idea they used in 1.0 where if you wanted to be a paladin you had to level a gladiator and a healer, and that taught you how to combine them into one class, but since they dropped that system theres no reason to hold on to its vestiges.

  13. Not knowing that you can't wear a helmet with some robes. I put my helmet back on, ended up naked and my teammate exclaimed "Oh! You might want to put some clothes back on." They are new as well and didn't know this would happen either.

  14. When I first started a month ago, I didn’t understand how hotbars and class sets worked until the middle of Stormblood, so I was manually changing things.

Still have the pain I felt when I found out recommended gear was right next to the glamour plate button, let alone the embarrassment of the rest.

  15. What confuused me when i first stared out was that the danger zones on the floor were not synced to the animation, so for example i would be standing where i shouldnt and not relising until last seccond that i needed to move, after moving, thinking i had escaped fine and then 10 secconds later the damage animation would happen and then i would die from what i though was from nothing. i mean i was no where near that fireball, other MMO's i played at the time were always damage would happen at Animation or as/when the area would dissapear, felt more immersive
i have later realised this is the mechanic and helps keep everyone on all platforms stay in sync, giving that buffer time. watching a PS4 player while im sitting on PC i noticed the areas would dissapear at diffrent times

  16. Mostly remembering its not skyrim and I cannot jump up a cliff, even if it looks climbable. This got me stuck in a hole in the rocks. Almost had to wrap out. Not fun.

  17. FFXIV is my first MMO, but I was already familiar with how everything works due to my time in other RPGS, specifically Destiny. Terminology, the fact that raids and dungeons have mechanics, the concept of designated roles, and even glamor are things I learned in Destiny weirdly enough.

  18. the closest thing to an MMO i'd played before was desttiny so I didnt get the tank/healer/dps system either and I started as a gladiator, a lotta people kicked me from dungeons cuz I'd also never used an in game text chat before and never noticed their messages telling me what to do lol

  19. Having just joined the game I am lost on a number of things… Fortunately I have played a couple other MMOs… but…
I am 29th level after playing for a couple days.
-Limit Break? All I know about this is to avoid using it.
-So many mounts and transmogs running around but NO mount shop or way to do any transmogs…
-I was 28th level before I accidentally found my Inn room.
-Travel takes forever. 90% of this game is spent walking across the planet.
-Isn't there a player stash somewhere? My inventory is nearly full of random weapons, gear, and fish. (yes I took a few hours and leveled fishing to 30.)
-Trying to figure out why I need fish.
-procrastinating from logging in because I am clearly going to need to learn crafting next, to hopefully deconstruct old gear and free inventory space… seems a shame to just toss the old stuff on the ground.

  20. Hey, yep I'm still creepin' lol. Getting used to being called a buns at this point. So the closest thing I found for her guitar is a PRS SE Custom 24 in Bonni Pink. Come on! Did I get it? lol. Now I gotta look around elsewhere to judge those custom PRS humbuckers' tone. I'm sure they're great.

  21. I’m still new for the most part, only been playing for a few weeks. I’m a Lalafell healer. It’s been a lot of fun, this guy named Chifon Cake traded me some cute things come, wish I hadn’t messed up my chat so that I could have said thank you. However, I was stuck chatting to party (with no one in it) XD took forever to to fix.

Also didn’t figure out the chocobo things till lvl 40 XD so I was able to straight to Feisty 😂

  22. Like the first 50 levels I thought each party member got a limit break, not just one for the whole party. I was using my tank limit break on the last boss thinking I was helping the party stay alive.

  23. Having just joined FFXIV and levelling my scholar, I've noticed the pet healing can grab aggro early in a pack-pull when the tank hasn't tagged em all yet. Not sure what the protocol is there.

  24. the map… oh god, the map.. I mean, why isn't there just the one version of the map with all the info and then let me zoom into the specific region I am currently in of the zone. The map is really horribly designed, WoWs maps are really simple and straight forward.

  25. As a brand new player the thing that's confusing me so far is how to make contacts in the game for going on dungeons and raids with other people. But I'm just a level 8 sprout so I'm not supposed to know a whole lot right now I guess.
