🤔 Hopefully I return to ffxiv from my 6 month sleep I need something like relic weapon or armor to drag me back 😅
Thx for info 👍
I think they already shown a DRK relic weapon, in one of the Criterion Dungeon pictures there was a DRK holding a really nice looking shiny weapon and that looks like a Relic.
Looking forward to this! Just hoping there's news to make everyone happy, even though that's pretty much impossible. Thanks for the update
LUMINARY
I had stopped giving a shit what developers say they're going to do when I played WoW, because I knew any changes were going to come long after launch, just as a way to try and keep disgruntled players from abandoning the game. That's Blizzard modus operandi.
In FFXIV, however, I genuinely believe the devs when they say they want to address issues. It's not going to happen as quickly as some want, because gamers are impatients little assholes, ngl.😂 That said, I do feel like they're sincere when they say they want to fix things.
While the idea of whole class reworks sound scary coming from MMO's that say they're going to work on balance, but are too afraid to take any big risks, bear in mind that YOSHI-P AND HIS TEAM ALREADY TOOK THE SINGLE BIGGEST GODDAMN RISK IN VIDEO GAME HISTORY.
At this point, saying they're willing to try radical things would be an understatement. They're dunking on every MMO's timid mindset right now.
So hell yes, I'm excited for this Live Letter. I'm excited for all of them, because I know that if changes are coming, even if they don't work, they'll at least be legitimate changes, not baby steps in order to keep the masses from rioting. This dev team isn't afraid to take risks, and we, the gamers, are the ones that have to sack up and stop being timid.😆
Why dont you post the source… post the sssoooouuurrrcee somewheeeeeeeereeee im laaaaazyyyyy
Please some buffs for reaper mch and rdm
I would put micro job tuning somewhere in importance behind new bard instruments.
The sakaguchi/yoship talk might be the highlight for me even more than the actual liveletter
Criterion’s are only going to lead to even further balancing discussions and anger and job lockouts. Every job designed around buffs and utility is basically pointless. Why would I take a red mage when it’s adps is horrible and it’s utility is blocked from use.
Getting to hear G'raha and Hermes' VAs got me the most excited! I love hearing my favorite VAs talking about their characters.
I just wish people could levy criticism without mailing everything personal. Insulting creators of content for not making something you like is childish. Nothing will ever be perfect but FFXIV is pretty damn good. The devs and Yoshida have done very little to make people really question their dedication to making the game better and yet these people who no one had really heard of before ShB are now calling producers dogshit while the long time creators are trying to act as peacekeepers.
It’s a sad situation to be in. They are clearly going to improve systems in the game, make things accessible, give us more content for more types of people and yet nothing will ever be good enough.
These hardcore players always say “oh the casual content isn’t for me, I just know” but I feel that’s their ego talking more than anything. The casual players are way more flexible in moving out of their comfort zones than hardcores it seems. But I feel it’s just an excuse used to justify not even trying it. And if you did try it and didn’t like it then fair play, but WATCHING some one else try it and not like it isn’t a good substitute and I feel like that’s forgotten in this age of live streamers.
havn't tried islands yet 😛
I guess it sucks that if you go out of your way to put together the weakest possible team you would struggle to make damage checks in savage. But as someone who has played games that actually have non-viable classes/specs, I feel like the community reaction was largely overblown. I guess when a community gets used to a certain standard, that even small problems seem like a huge deal.
This might be a hot take, but personally I think that a lot of people complaining about job balance are not world first raiders hitting enrage in P8S. They are just people running normal raids and the EX, and are just parroting what top end players are saying. And while I'm not saying every person who complains don't know what they are talking about, a lot of people who are complaining about homogenization and stuff like the 2 minute window change were not impacted by it in a meaningful way. There aren't enough high end players in the game to reflect this many voices, and most people are getting outraged about stuff that barely impacts them.
All that said, if it results in better class balance then I guess it's fine. But I'll actually be legitimately annoyed if Samurai get Kaiten back because at this point I'm used to not having it and I prefer it. I also liked the Dragoon Mirage Dive/Jump change, and the community complained until they ruined it. There was a 2-3 week span where I actually enjoyed Dragoon there…
This turned into a full rant, so I guess I'll stop now. Uh, great video Quazii!
It’s hard even to satisfy 100 people in a group. So simply ignore those Karen and toxic players who love to complain everything and everyone.
I think island sanc is a bit boring to me, though that’s not a problem. It’s not farming fantasy anyway.
Hey, thanks for keep me/ the community up to date! Here's hoping for more crystal conflict changes+ things!
Merci pour tout ce que tu fais 🤗❤️❤️❤️
there's usually only one LL before .5 patch this means…
that patch 6.2.5 is MAYBE way sooner than anyone expected.
Or it is just because there's a 14hours special. We will see 🙂
(Maybe they are going back to the old speed after covid, meaning we may get 3.5 month between each major patchs. Which would make a release of next expansion 2 years after endwalker)
Job balance isn't a small thing though. It's about what is important to players. Imagine if what YOU enjoyed the most in the game (could be msq, relics, literally whatever) wasn't in a fair state. People seem to be taking memes and a ton of videos about dps more personally than the developers are taking it lmao
“Hopefully they will reveal the Beastmaster job class we are getting” 😅
Job balance < job restructuring.
I think the Job fantasy in FFXIV is just a fantasy right now.
"I am a casual player, therefor this does not affect me therefor, the devs should ignore it"
If you have this mentality, I'm heavily concerned. You are basicly admitting that any content that isn't casual oriented can be ignored by the dev team to be tuned properly just because you are not there. You might think job balance doesn't affect you, but every raider today started out as a casual too, job balance is the fundamenta core gameplay of XIV and affects everyone who wants to take the game more seriously.
Why is it bad to be a hardcore? Because they enjoy the game so much they want to become better and also care about the game being better for everyone?
If your argument is toxicity, that shit comes from both sides all the time
i feel like adding the relics to a story questline will cause people to skip through it instead of enjoy it
I feel as though DSR and this tier brought the current battle system to it's limits, and has exposed some pretty major cracks in job/fight design philosophy. Balance aside, the netcode, 2 minute burst, 100% melee uptime, poor pacing of the fights and the tier, and the staleness of job gameplay are major issues that are driving new and longtime players away from the game, demonstrably. Massive hitboxes have killed the unsung skill expression of greed and maintaining uptime, in a game where there is barely any skill expression left in core job gameplay. The 2 minute burst is boring, stifles job and fight design, and is also extremely punishing; if you die and miss the 2min, you're effectively dead weight until the next burst, unlike in ShB where you could still play into 60s, 90s and 180s buffs. Endgame gear progression is boring and extremely restrictive if you want to raid with multiple jobs, etc etc.
These are issues that aren't experienced or acknowledged by the players that don't engage in that content. The casual players are eating well, sure, but seeing the general sentiment of that part of the community, why the disdain and dismissive attitude for the players that desire a better, more meaty and comprehensive game? Especially when 1) the game has had it in the past, and 2) it's competitors offer a more enjoyable experience? For those that play for story or collection, why should the people who play for the battle content not also be satisfied? There is a lot to love about FFXIV's combat and I don't think it should be relegated to what is effectively side content. I also think there should be a bit more empathy towards the more hardcore players, because they all love the game for the content they engage in and want it to be as good as possible. Imo this divide between the playerbase needs to be bridged; just because the story is good doesn't mean the gameplay should suffer for it.
It seems like FF16 has the team stretched thin and there is an element of being out of touch with the community when it comes to gameplay decisions. I am hopeful for 7.0 that they take another look and overhaul the direction of battle content, because currently it just isn't sustainable. The combination of persisting issues like healer design, underperforming/weakly designed jobs and dull fights is seriously degrading a part of the game that was amazing for so long. However good it is, FFXIV has been and can be so much more than just a casual story game.
