I’ve been hanging out with a lot of newer players recently, and wanted to have a video to point them to so they can improve even in dungeons, so here we are.

  1. Can vouch for the "people notice!" part. When tanking I normally do that "let's test the group" wall pull and a sprout healer was able to keep me up when I was a little under geared while leveling. I took a moment after that to acknowledge the great heals and was echoed by the other two veteran DPS'ers that were just running their roulettes.

One add – don't be afraid to check out a dungeon guide if you are stuck. I have been in groups where there wasn't a backup rez and the healer kept dyeing on the boss mechanics. The rest of the team soon follows due to attrition. The group was forgiving and sharing advice, but after the 5th or 6th fail it became clear that we were not going to complete this.

  2. I rarely use mit or burst on ads as a reaper. sometimes I'll use my bog combo when it hits 100 if there's still over half left and/or another pack left before a boss, but otherwise its not worth it, and I end up getting triple enshroud at the start of the boss with the opener which brings the boss down in the blink of an eye. I'm almost always top dps in dungons even on trash pulls, even when Reaper went through his phase at the start of 6.25 where it hit lowest dps of the melee classes and lower then some other classes too.

  3. Something you can also do is to try to greed as much as possible especially if you play melee. Since damage in dungeons is very low its a perfect place for you to limit test and mess up.

  4. One point. Wall to wall on ARR dungeons is a bad idea mainly due to lack of later game skills and the probability of grouping with new/inexperienced players. You take a ton of damage low level healers just can't keep up with.

  5. Actually really solid tips for new players, saw this popup on my recommended videos and decided to check this out cuz im wondering what people actually teach to new players, i like it how you gave example of sage cooldowns on trash with good reasoning, usually when people give specific tips for example a lot of WHM guides tell you to regen the tank on trash, but a lot of times they dont tell them to stop doing this in higher level dungeons, sure you can regen the tank while he is running but i usually just DoT them while running for extra damage and the regen is not really doing anything on higher levels.

Kind of "no shit" tips indeed for me atleast but knowing the average skill level of most dungeon groups i say these are excellent tips for new players, nice job!

Also bonus tip: if someone is watching the final boss cutscene, PLEASE WAIT UNTIL THEY ARE DONE, pulling the boss when someone is enjoying the cutscene/lore is a dick move, so please dont do it, you can spare 30 second of your life to wait someone to be ready

  6. for the gear bit: he forgot to mention you'd have to finish the main story of that expansion to unlock the vendor.
so if you want lv50 tome gear you'd have to finish the ARR main questline.
Can't get lv80 tome gear even though your character is lv85 unless you finish Shadowbringers
