  1. This video was recorded before I uploaded my ARR review. I just wanted to thank everyone who watched and commented
on that video! I was blown away by the response and the comments I got and I'm very grateful. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this video! I've got more content on the way so stay tuned!

  2. If you want to switch classes, I'd suggest waiting until you've gotten your original class to level 30 because by that point, you'll have out leveled the MSQ by a lot.

Be aware that you may have to grind dungeons, FATEs and levequest but your secondary class will level quicker than the original

  3. I've been playing since 2014 and when I first started I realized that each class feels weak till level 30. That's when you really feel the change or progression of each class. I had a mentor before it was even a thing and I managed to get lvl 4 classes before the heavensward expansion. Honestly if players pay attention the storyline they can really be pulled in and everything will just fall into place. Great video by the way!

  4. Good little video, I've coached a few new folk through the early stages and these points are pretty much bang on. I will point out though for point 1 about not switching classes, I only mostly agree. Switching classes all over the show is not advised true, but as a new player, you'll often be playing on a server with preferred world status giving you the "road to 70" buff which will cause you to quickly outpace the story in regard to levels.

If you're a new player and this applies to you, you can absolutely select 1 other class and level it up alongside your main job. I'd recommend one of the other archetypes of tank, healer or DPS that's different from the one you started with as it will help keep things fresh. Doing just the MSQ and with the road to 70 buff, you will still be a little ahead of the story in terms of levelling, especially if you are doing your duty roulette every day.

Quick bonus tip too, remember you've got an "equip recommended gear" button in your character UI (blue human silhouette icon near the weapon slot) , can save you a lot of time digging around in your inventory to equip up-to-date gear

  5. Your tips are very nicely explained and I do find the job quest and the blue quests are like veeeryy important, very good you brought em up, also best tip is to start the game I agree! As a new player I'd feel very well informed, I remember back when I started all alone I felt so looost. Also, you're on Twintania? I must find you right away, I'm there as well, maybe we can hang out some wee!

  6. What I did when I started playing and the ARR slog hit me was to actual do side content and crafting to make more gil. That had cured my burn somewhat. Another tip I can give is that you can do dungeons as one quest and do MSQ and quests as another job, by the time ended ARR I had dragoon and whitemage both at 50 and that made getting through Heavensward and Stormblood so much easier

  7. I actually really like your content! New player here!
Answer me one thing! Im about 5% into heavensward… when is the the best time to purchese the game? I know I want it but when is it when I basically SHOULD?
    Thankssyy

  8. all though the msq is the main source of exp you are forgetting a lot of other things that new players might not know about. like fates, leves, roulettes, challenge logs, hunt logs, spamming the highest dungeons, getting your first toon to 80 so you get an armory bonus so it makes lvling an alt job easier. eating food for the exp buff. knowing this early make ARR a breeze to get through

  9. You forgot to mention that all combat jobs you have have increased exp gain as long as that job is not ypour highest level. That is another reason to get 1 job to max level first because it will help you level other jobs tremendeously.

  10. I'm on the free trial which only allows me to get to level 60. I've got a level 50 paladin and I'm only around the level 30-40 msq because my world has double exp. Should I switch classes to level another one up to instead of capping out my level on the msq with paladin?

  11. Just wanted to let you know that I've been on the fence about jumping back into MMOs after a very long break, due to crippling anxiety specifically surrounding multiplayer gaming. Your videos(especially this one) has helped me decide to dive head first into FF14. It's currently downloading and I'm excited for the first time in over a decade to play something multiplayer again.

  12. About class switching. If you have one on a higher level the other classes will level faster. So it's smart to stick to one, get to a high level (80 is max at the moment) and switch after that.

  13. lol i started a week ago and all im doing is leveling up my crafting classes up to 50 before i do the ARR MSQ and im enjoying every bit of it the crafting in the game is so much fun compared to any game ive played before, why would i do this instead of the story you might wonder? well i dont like the way my char looks during the cutscenes so im waiting until ive crafted some good clothes so i can do the story comfortably

  15. Well I’ll take you up on that over when I’m done being a sprout…lol…. And new sub! So I shall make a character on the EU server. And I am an altoholic…yeah I’m a WoW gal…

Wait….my archer is going to be a BARD?!?!? So I sing songs whilst I kill people? Hmmmmmm…..once I’m done being a sprout I will need a fun, laid back guild (WoW speak again). Think Krucial or Kaif/Slave Raiders. Awesome content!!

  16. One other question…are people as toxic when it comes to helping out others? I’m co-GM of two guilds, I like to get better at dungeons. And I’m finding out that A. No one really talks to each other, which is what my friend an I put in the guild terms, B. No matter if someone needs help running a dungeon for the first time, or even the same one to understand the mechs/get better, help them!

For me, I have no problem helping anyone. I also have to stand up for healers in LFG….and I hardly get picked for those …. Or ANYONE who makes a mistake (I have I’m sure a number of times but we beat the timer despite me standing in stuff that kills you). And yes, on certain mechs I have a hard time comprehending. I just want a guild that has a great time, runs stuff just for the fun of it, and make great online friends. I really am not that serious about dungeons or raids but helping others? YUP! And yes I’m rambling! Lol

  17. good video. Question: I am lev 35 on my "black mage" but at this point I am only doing main storyline, hardly any of the blue+ quests, and I still haven't received my JOB quest yet. I literally JUST got the mount quest at lev 34. I think I should have been able to mount up at lev 20 but couldn't because the quest wasn't there until lev 34. Am i going to be lev 45 before I get to pick Black mage?
