I just want to clarify you don't need to be level 50+ to get the xp bonus for alt classes. Any combat class will get double xp so long as they are not your highest level class.
So basically, FFXIV does the RPG part of MMORPG better
The major criticism about FFXIV Player Housing is that there just aren't enough plots – it is very hard to buy one. But I have both an apartment and an FC Room so I still feel way ahead of anything I had in WoW.
Being a wow player is so discouraging sometimes.
Final Fantasy isn't perfect by any means, but Square treats their players like players, and not like numbers on a spreadsheet, giving them all this cool stuff to do, and not take it away in the next expansion.

sry, but the art style doesn't makes sense at ALL. I can't imagine, that this has a epic lore like warcraft. gameplay mechanics and other similar things could of course be better (maybe)
The super secret recipe for success is having hot male characters for people to swoon over, you can’t put all the sexy stock into just the girls like WoW, sure the dragon aspects are stacked but you gotta share the love across genders xD

I hope you'll consider engaging in the social side to FF14 as well. As good as the bones of the game are, the bit that makes it truly special is people are genuinely happy to play with, help, or just hang with new folks. A good FC will truly make it a different game for you. I would say this isn't a coincidence, as it all trickles down from the dev's willingness to do the same as they make the game something we can all enjoy!
How much of FFXIV can be solo'd? I kind of prefer MMO's that let me play AROUND other people, but don't force me to group up all the time.
I dont see myself going back to wow but paying for more bank space/not able to mail to alts for storage put me off
Housing furniture are fairly expensive as well to craft or buy. Perhaps try owning a $300K FC (guild house) private chamber, or a $500K apartment first. You own them permanently compare to $>3mil housing plot which will be auto-demolished if you are inactive for 45 days unless you assign someone else to "co-own" the house to keep it active. I love that my FC mansion has 40+ private chambers – that's a lot of FC members living under 1 roof.
Yes nothing about the gameplay , dungeons , pvp , raids .
WOW is still far superior .
FF is like playing sims , if you want to chill , do rp thing.

yes, you are correct, these things are better than WOW, now lets talk about combat, so we can eliminate the comparison because FF14 has a LONG way to go to be competitive
Just wait until you get to developer communication. A thing that XIV gets completely right.
There was a time way back when the ability to swap jobs was actually hated by WoW players but that was when it was alt friendly. I remember Rift getting beat up hard for being able to swap so easily and also not having multiple starter zones. I get a laugh everytime I see an experienced WoW player celebrate the job swap.
Now that all of the starter zones have been compressed into Exiles Reach and alt friendliness is basically dead in WoW it makes sense why you guys like it now lol
In my opinion the only thing WoW has over FFXIV is the Transmog system
Not sure if you're aware of this aspect of being able to "live" being a profession – If a player creates a piece of gear – that gear is "tagged" with the crafter's name at the bottom of the item. Even in FFXI – it was great to have a friend make a nice item for me – and their name would be tagged on the item. (If you put the item in your glamour dresser etc. it will remove the name plate though)
It's a nice touch – that's really minor but sometimes as a crafter it is great to have your name on a piece you've worked on.
As a crafter you also have the ability to mend/repair your own gear – and it doesn't repair up to 100% – Self mending/repairs, overmends your gear (more than 100% durability) – and you can self-repair in dungeons etc as long as you have the reagent (its a catch all tiered item)
Also – Professions – as mentioned has its own rotations (which have been more streamlined) – HOWEVER – all professions also each have their own Story Content – to get new abilities and such – are in a quest format that give each their own quaint history to you/your character – And trainers will remember you if they're in later scenes – like for special events (seasonals etc).
Its a nice side-content that has a lot of useful properties. There's also Beast Tribes (rep factions basically) that focus only for crafters – one in every expansion – heck one later ref faction can give you a tank mount (a military tank). Beast Tribes (combat and crafting) unlock later in ARR, so dont worry about them yet. But the Crafting Tribes – help give you the xp as well as supplying your Grand Company for xp and Free Company credit.

Player housing in FF14 is pretty nice, agree.
However!
The housing economy is atrocious.
Way too less plots (also why not just instanced) and how you buy a plot is straight up garbage.
After a sale for a plot goes up it can be bought from a random point onwards after it went up for sale. starting at 2 hours, closing at 24 hours.
And believe me. People camp those plots to buy it for 24 hours.
Why the hell did they not make it a lottery basically.
Yeah RNG sucks but better than waiting 24 hours, clicking as fast as possible and navigating through the buy menu to maybe be outsped by someone and starting from 0.
You know it's a good game when you side track and forget your main quest.
its either housing or swapping classes so easily and staying on the same toon. I like alts, but i usually choose the same few races in wow for the most part. It would be so nice to play all my classes and not have to redo content, reps, achievements etc. I know it isn't possible, especially with the way systems work, but how about a compromise with like a shared account level currency for gear and rep and whatever you want to spend it on. Housing is way overdue for wow, it's actually criminal the game doesn't have housing.
Personally i cant get into the theme and esthetics of FFXIV, which is honestly the only thing holding me back from switching to it. I love WoW so much and its depressing to see it not get the care and love that it used to have from the developers. Player housing would be such a nice feature to have for collectors and casual players to engage in. It feels like blizzard does not care anymore about the RPG aspect of the game, because they too busy adding more pointless systems.
Wish wow had the ability to change classes like ff14. Would solve a lot of my issues with alts.
What is the end game gear progression like? Is getting BiS gear only achievable by the top 0.5 percent who can full clear the mythic raid every week? Or are there alternatives to BiS gear that a more casual player can eventually acquire?

You also get double exp when you level a class while having a class in higher lvl
Also in the Gold Saucer they added Mahjong if you want to learn and relax. Some of the development team worked on it for fun in their spare time and they ended up adding it to the game.
There’s also the mini rts Lord of Verminion you play with your collected minions. It’s not overly popular, but it’s another game to try.

I solved all of my WoW problems by switching to ff14. All of them, and the only thing I am sad about is the friends who refuse to come play 14. Like an abusive relationship, they just can't seem to get away… lol
in WOW we kinda have fortress that… was forgotten and not very customizable. the weekly content and reward are also not up to date.
All fair points but here’s the problem with FF14: the combat visuals look like shite and it’s full of furries to appeal to weebs. For those two factors alone, hard-pass.
You forgot the most important thing they do better they have a dungeon and raid finder and still managed to maintain a community that talks with one another. man imagine that…perhaps it wast those things that were the downfall of wows community and it was the antisocial players instead. 🤔 they have also managed to do cross server and the community still found a way to exist

But there is good news. 2000 years ago Jesus the Son of God came into this world and lived a perfect life ( He never sinned once) and He died on the cross taking the wrath that we deserve and paid the penalty for the sins we committed. The bible says that if you will repent (confess and forsake your sins) and trust in what Christ did on the cross (He took the wrath of God that was meant for you and I) then all your sins will be forgiven and when you die you will be in heaven with God and all who believe for eternity. Jesus died and on the third day He rose from the grave. Get right with God today don't wait. Once you die after that comes the judgement. Hebrews 9:27 It's the most important thing you can do. You must be born again John 3:7 If you repent and trust in what Christ did on the cross it shows that you've been born again or born spiritually. Right now you're dead in your sins and you can't see the beauty of Jesus Christ but after you trust in Christ all the things you hate about God like obeying him, serving Him, loving Him and others, reading the bible, praying and going to church you will love to do those things because God changes your heart. That's how you know you have been born again and forgiven. Please think long about this and ask me any questions you have as this is the most important thing you can ever think of in your life. An eternity in hell (darkness and a lake of fire the bible describes it, with weeping and gnashing of teeth) or an eternity out of that place and into the loving arms of God who is infinitely glorious, has infinite knowledge and has infinite power to do all that He pleases. I love the fact that add ons are not allowed in ffxiv, the screen is clearer and you relay on the bosses animations and sounds for mechanics.
In wow you have just a pure mess of bars, with a lot loud noises that take away from the experience.
