  1. Glare 3 is 330 Potency @ 1.48 cast and 2.47 recast
    Glare 4 is 640 Potency @ instant cast and 1.98 recast

    With Buff:
    Glare 3 is 330 Potency @ 1.184 cast and 1.976 recast
    Glare 4 is 640 Potency @ instant cast and 1.584 recast
    Multiply each time by 0.8 to get the value at 20% less

    Buff is 15 seconds long therefore:
    Glare 3 – Using full 15 second timer to cast Glare 3 then 3 Glare 4s
    15 / (1.184 + 1.976) = 4.7468… (round up to account for game tick design and carryover) = 5
    (5 * 330) + (3 * 640) = 3570
    DPS = 3570 / 20.552 = 173.705…dps

    Glare 4 – Casting 3 Glare 4s then filling the rest of the buff timer with Glare 3s and finishing with another 3 Glare 3s to match casts after buff
    (15 – (3 * 1.584)) / (1.184 + 1.976) = 10.248 / (1.184 + 1.976) = 3.243… (round up to account for game tick design and carryover) = 4
    (3 * 640) + (4 * 330) + (3 * 330) = 4230
    DPS = 4320 / 26.872 = 160.762…dps

    Using the full buff bar to cast glare 3s then use the glare 4s is a dps gain by the math I did calculating it exactly. The final dps check at the end, I used the original times with the influence of the buff rather than the timer of the buff itself as a base point because it is not accurate. I rounded up because when you play white mage you will notice that you can sneak in a cast even after the buff ends with the buff still influencing that cast, that is the reason for the rounding. This is a basic plain math, the balance takes into account mixing and matching, which is why theirs is different and is the one you should be using. The balance only uses 2 glare 4s during the buff window then opts to use glare 3s and finish with a glare 4.

    Anyone is welcome to fact check my math but conclusion thus far is that using glare 3s during full buff time is better in raw format.

  2. YOu do get a lot of crap for not liking FF14 story, it's like people HAVE to force you love the story because it's the best story they ever played. I been a gamer for 30 years, I seen every trope and story out there. FF14 is nothing unique in it's story, and you are fine to not like it. I hate every story expansion expect EW, Endwalker just had a lot what I liked, and also of course disliked, is doesn't mean I hate the game, there is always something for everything as FF14 is a game with Massive Content. I also hate how people go out of their way of "You need to watch the guide and spoil yourself" while screaming how they themselves hate spoilers.

  3. It seems odd that you can only get riding Maps in the post game, but they’re not really useful at that point. If you could get them for GP or side quests before you get all the currents they would be worthwhile now they just seem like a minor speed adjustment so it’s almost flying

  4. Using glare IV inside presence of mind actually do matter. When you get a 20% speed buff on your cast and recast, the true potency change a lot. Let me correct your calcul here :

    I'm using my 2.48 WHM for that. Basically, we do math based on our base GCD, so my Glare III = 330 Potency for 2.48 GCD. Now with Presence of mind, I get down to 1.98. Doing some quick math that means (330 * 2.48) / 1.98 = 413.33333…. So basically, the potency of Glare III become 413 if the GCD was 2.48 (Because you cast faster, you don't hit harder tho)

    Same for Glare IV which would be (640 * 2.48) / 1.98 = 801.61 (let's say 801)

    Now I'll do the same thing as you but with the faster GCD included :

    8 Glare III inside Presence of mind + 3 Glare IV outside Presence of mind = (413 * 8) + (511 * 3) = 3304 + 1920 = 5221
    3 Glare IV + 5 Glare III Inside Presence of Mind + 3 Glare III Outside of Presence of Mind = (801 * 3) + (413 * 5) + (330 * 3) = 2403 + 2065 + 990 = 5458

    Galre IV inside the Presence of Mind buff is then more powerful than using it outside. You can also use the blood lily that equals 4 Glare III in term of potency inside it to increase that even more.

    Reducing your GCD by 20% actually gives you a consistent boost on your damage because you can output at least one more attack in 5 GCD of time. Those same math applies to anything that give you attack speed buff, like Samourai/Ninja/Monk/Viper/Bard speed attack buff.

  6. Dying doesn't make you lose anything…Lies it makes me lose my dignity and a little bit of gil as I teleport myself back to wherever I was stupid.

    small Edit: White mages Free Cure on Cure 1 is a trap just use Cure 2 it's better, please just use Cure 2 if you have it, don't use Cure 1…like ever.

  7. Clicking during ATM actually can be faster… IF you combine it with keyboard. Yes you can do both and it's actually faster than just one or the other.

    The reason people say don't use Glare 4 under POM, isn't because it doesn't affect it, it's because it's an instant cast skill. Yes you can recast faster, but I think most would rather fit the glares in since the G4s can be used as a semi-weave afterwards. I don't know anyone who just uses the G4s back to back after POM but I guess there would be some who would? I alternate them between Glare or Heals just to stretch out their usefulness.

  8. i’m in a real reborn and i’m sorry but i absolutely despise the story and am perfectly happy with the gameplay/everything else. the game has become an addiction. that’s the only thing i dont like about the community, the toxic positivity. it’s ok if somebody doesn’t like the story. they’re still playing the game and enjoying it. so why do people get so angry? /:
