  1. there was another bad ending cutscene on og steps of faith (at least there used to be) x'D I saw it once or twice back in ARR, then never again… and now it's been reworked to a solo duty, i'm not sure if they kept the cutscene in case of failure, something to test out lol

  2. As a legacy player there's something kind of cool actually about sleeping in the Inn. When 1.0 was beginning it's final countdown (when Dalamud was moving closer and closer each patch) you could actually have nightmare cutscenes that would happen at random. Likewise the VERY VERY VERY beginning of the game (when 2.0 was first introduced) you had a slightly different intro than everyone sees now. Instead of it being a scene of you walking up to meet said carriage when the twins and a certain merchant, you are actually teleported in just as the OG intro movie shows.

Near the VERY end of 2.0 MSQ when you're riding the magitek armor out of the tunnel with the big action Hero scene as the explosions erupt around you? Instead of all the nation leaders comparing to you to a WoL, there is a audible/visual click or blink and they actually recognize you finally as your 1.0 Warrior of Light. All the scenes can be found on Youtube, most of them are typically only a few seconds of difference, but it's so damn cool to go through on a legacy character (as it doesn't happen on characters you've created after 2.0 launched). Figured yall would enjoy all of these.

  3. 1) Everyone who had a character got a tattoo but if you subbed during a specific window, you got another reward, a special legacy Chocobo which has unique armor and a tattooed beak.
    2) yes, at Lv 20 you can fill all three trees which net you extra barding rewards, you get a tank barding, healer barding and dps barding, wont spoil what jobs 😉
    3) yes if you have crafters that are at least 10 levels below your current max level of your gear you can repair your gear to +100% durability which is useful, and a recent update allows you request armor repair from other players so if your friend is an omni crafter or just likes to get all jobs/classes to cap for the achievements/stories, you can poke them to repair with a tip for their services.
    4) while they stopped giving rewards for the tribal quests, they did start adding bonus story content for the shadowbringers role quests, if you complete them all, it unlocks a bonus questline for more lore. we will see if this will be a new trend with Endwalker.
    5) not really an urban legend, it was just changed to be in line with the sanctuary log outs (moon next to XP bar) as to not feel like you were forced to log out at inns to get speedier rested XP. a bonus on the INNs, and ties to #1, if you played during 1.0's last days you'd occassionally log in to nightmares which scared your WoL out of their bed with foreboding visions. Maybe they did this also combat bad juju memories from some OG players. they are very thoughtful like that. XD
    7) along with the ring its nice to go back on several classes once you hit Lv 15, since it rewards special sets depending on your role and class, so its a nice bonus if you are leveling alt jobs to get a set of each, Tank, Phys Damage, and Healer/Caster gear. just have to replay certain tasks of the 7-8 they have listed.
    8) Dying is nice, there are some very vibrant colors though I usually just stick to teal. XD
    9) This was a thing until they realized too late that it made play SMN and SCH pretty difficult, since both require wildly different stats, and it really didnt offer much in customization on the whole, though the odd build here and there was interesting to say the least.

  4. My original character has that tatoo. But it stayed on the japanese server. When ARR launched, I had the choice to start with my already existing character, or create a new one. The fact that we "only" had a tatoo was very boring to me. So I decided to start fresh and new with a brand new character on a brand new server. Now I kinda regret it because it's so incredibly rare to see that tattoo.
But at least I still have my old character, waiting in the ether, with a tatoo on their neck.

  5. I still have my tattoo from 1.0, though it's too bad most outfits in the game cover it up. What I'm jealous about? Despite playing during 1.0 my account isn't considered a "legacy account" because I quit the game after 2 months. So I don't get the discount or rare Chocobo mount.

  6. we dont just have a tatoo, i have gear from 1.0 state as 'dated' that can be transmog on all class. i can put plate on my mages for exemple. you cant obtain it in any other way.

  7. I knew all but the alloting your own stats….the person that recruit a friend me into the game IS one of those legacy players and not only do they have the tattoos; if you watch the end credits for arr thers something called "meteor survivors" those are a list of all the legacy players

  8. I knew all of these, and being reminded about TP and especially allocatable attributes, and being made to consider the idea the number of players who likely don't know made me feel incredibly old. 😅

  9. I knew most of these, if not all. But it's nice that you're making these for people who don't! I am a 1.0 player as well, and I love my tattoo. Did you know we also got our "Legacy Chocobo" as a mount (from what I understand it's supposed to be our chocobo from 1.0) and it also has the Legacy tattoo across it's beak? 😁😁

  10. I'd of had a Legacy Tatoo if my "friend" didn't take over our shared account years ago. Had to completely restart from scratch in HW….It isn't game breaking, but I wish I had my Legacy Tatoo as I was there from launch of 1.0 all the way until current day. Note: The reason why we shared an account was because I didn't have internet at home, but I really wanted to play XIV. My friend and I put together money to buy the game and shared the same account, but we had a falling out due to irl stuff and yeah he just took that over a little bit after HW launched. Bought my own copy of the game, had internet at home by that time as I had a job, and I'm happy with my Hyur Keaira haha but she def deserves the tatoo. Maybe they'll give us a new tatoo someday when the next FF MMORPG comes out, unlikely, but it'd be pretty cool!

Edit: Or maybe they can/should add in more Body Tatoos that aren't tied to Armor!

  11. Back in arr every job had the same sprint animation. It is the same as the paladin sprint animation.

Also, level 3 limit breaks only varied by type of job. All tanks had the paladin’s bulwark limit break. All melee had the monk’s final heaven. Both healers, white mage and scholar, had the perfect white lb, casters had the black mage’s meteor, bard was the only physical ranged dps.

Crafting progress for synthesis action had only an 80% success rate. It was possible to fail on the last step because of an unsuccessful attempt on the synthesis ability.

  12. I knew everything but the last one! Ninja tanking sounds… unique. Your videos seem well thought out and informed by experience and this isn't the first one I've found myself interested in so I subscribed and well, here's this comment. 🙂 Hope you do well!

  13. I can tell you something you didn't know: there are actually (at least) three bad ending cutscenes. The most infamous one is the one you didn't mention, because it was almost eradicated from the game: the bad ending for The Steps Of Faith. When it came out, and for a long time after, it was the most common ending to that trial. It became common for people to actually quit out of the instance when they got it in Roulette, taking the penalty rather than trying to finish it. As a result, there were parties being set up to get people through the trial, and one of the more important reasons to join an FC was to get help clearing this fight (and a few others).
Since this gated progress in Heavensward, this became a major issue so the developers ended up nerfing it to hell, until the NPCs could almost finish the job for you.
Now that TSoF is an instanced fight, people might start seeing the bad ending cutscene again. It's a dramatic one, as the towers fall and you know that you failed to save Ishgard.

  14. I have a legacy tattoo but because of my inconsistent sub time (1.x was a clusterfuck and I only came back in 1.2x when Yoshi took over and paused the sub), I don't have the legacy flag and the discounted sub cost of $9.99/m.

    Sadge.

  15. If you stable your chocobo and feed it the same buffing food 10 times in a row for training it will become the chocobo's favorite food. There is no animation or message to let you know you are done. When you feed your chocobo this food in the open world he will animate being happy and the buff icon on him will have a Roman numeral II on it indicating that he has received a better than normal buff. Very useful but not mentioned even though you talked a lot about the chocobo.

  16. I am a legacy 1.0 Player with the Tattoo. Its not that special. More unique is the Chocobo/Gobue Mount or the Legacy Discount Bonus. And i miss good old TP Times or Stance Dance on the Heal- or Tank Side. For me HW was the Time i had most fun in this Game.
