  1. Those feelings that are very difficult to explain to someone who hasn't played (or that has played very little), but you did a great job at explaining them in this video. Thank you of everything, Quazii. Looking forward to whatever you do next.

  3. I watched the first couple of videos from you basically a year ago (happy anniversary) and I thought to myself, damn this game doesn't look that bad and with a different approach (not rushing through to endgame) I actually started playing myself in october, after sylvanas progress was done and there was nothing more to do in WoW. I started FFXIV and I let it immerse me, with the story how beatiful it is and how it captures one. I never read a quest in WoW, never even bothered so I thought it would bother me aswell in FFXIV, that was not true in the end and now I'm halfway done with ShB and I really enjoy my time. As you also said theres no stressing about keeping up to date, doing dailys etc or missing a vault/weekly and it feels amazing. Thanks for the great video ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I think what's most important about FFXIV dev team is that they really work hard to make the game feel like a community experience, something we are part of, and don't just isolate themselves in a high castle and act like they know what's best for us. Their attention to every part of the community, the glamour collectors, rpers, house decorators, venue organizers, musical performers, casual players, raiders, hardcore raiders, pvpers, everyone feels like they're getting attention, even though we know there are problems to be solved in many aspects of the game, it still isn't game breaking, and we still see progress being made. It's a much different vibe overall and I feel like it's so easy to make friends on XIV, while on WoW I never managed to make any. Everyone was too busy keeping up with their level to interact with people properly. Besides, the devs respect the content creators and even when there's a patch drought, we still keep receiving new information to talk about, so there's always content ^^ I'm glad you feel the journey was worth it, and here's to many more years of fun in FFXIV!

  5. I can't believe it has been a year already. I'm so glad you've enjoyed the journey. I did go back to see my comment on your very first 14 video and Welcoming a New Adventurer to this amazing game. Thank you Quazii for a year of positive content. You've provided plenty of smiles through your journey. Here is to many more in the future!

  6. the misconception that ARR is bad comes from the past, in shb around 30% of all ARR MSQ content was just filler and was cut from the game, some tedious quests were simplified too, alot of players that did old ARR dont really know how much it changed for the better and so this big rumor of ARR being a slog is kept alive

  7. Iโ€™m glad you made the switch! I was really disillusioned with WoW after playing it for a decade and when I started playing FFXIV with my daughter, you had a lot to say about both games and it helped me break free from copium.

  8. Iโ€™m like you and started juuust before the wave of everyone else bc I was so bored with WoW grinding. And my life has become so much calmer and happier without WoWโ€™s many stresses. FF has issues like job design direction & alts having to redo everything if youโ€™re an RPer, but Iโ€™ve had a blast in spite of it.

  9. Quazii, I have so much memories of goodness with your youtube videos. I have become a better tank and also a better player watching and keeping up with your World of Warcraft Mythic videos. Regardless that you have gone to Final Fantasy, you are an encouragement to me and countless others. I still use your mythic routes and don't care what other people think. Continue being awesome and remember… you have nothing to prove to anyone, but thank you for your explanation. โ™ฅ

  10. During my first year of 2.0 way back then, I knew this game was my 2nd home, when I gone thru all Coils Of Bahamut on the night before 3.0 expansion update. I knew I'd invest to this amazing game up to this day โค

  12. Not gonna lie, the โ€œyour journey will be worthwhileโ€ line got me a little. Iโ€™ve just entered the workforce and Iโ€™m thinking about how my life will be now and whether the choices for my education has been worth it. Just that little bit of reassurance in the game helps me a lot.

  13. I loved a Realm Reborn, I had so much fun right from day 1. I've watched your videos, almost from the beginning of your FF14 trip and I have to say your experiences have fairly closely mirrored mine, I was running through the game at the same time. No regrets playing this game, my favourite MMO to date.

My first favourite scene where I knew I was playing something amazing was during the road trip with Estinien and Ysayle and you stop to make camp and just reflect on what has happened. Pretty much no story I had played in any video game ever took that time to breath with their story, I felt I was back reading through those old fantasy books I loved in my childhood.

  14. Maybe these losers who say "wow you're just moving on from WoW for the clout" haven't realized yet that "oh maybe the reason why people are leaving is cause the game is actually *gasp* declining, and not because they just want to copy everyone else!!"

It's basically the thing where "oh why is everyone hating me, oh probably just because im too good for everyone else" but in video game form.

  16. I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who actually enjoyed A Realm Reborn, Quazii. I kept getting warned that its slow at the start and not to judge it based off of that as I had joined on the free trial… But I got to level 30. Unlocked BRD. Subsequently found I could annoy people with music of my own making. Then, instantly bought the game. That was two years ago, and I haven't stopped!

  17. I remember when you're first video about FF14 came out. And I have been hooked by your content and reactions to this fantastic game ever since! Love the positivity and the hearing from your prospective, a lot of which I myself never thought of during my years of playing and it actually helped me appreciate what this game was more than ever before. You are by far my favorite to watch in the community and I am always overjoyed when I see you upload another video or start up a stream

  19. I finally unsubbed from WoW 3 weeks ago. I was holding a sub to both games but the only thing that kept me subscribed to WoW was the guildies and the weekly raids but pretty much everyone is sick of Shadowlands and took a break. I might try out Dragonflight once it comes out though, assuming I still respect Blizzard enough by the time it comes out, which is far from certain given how fast they're tanking their reputation these days.

  20. 1:20 Yeah I also wonder about that… I played ARR before SE started streamlining the ARR MSQ and sure it was long but globally I enjoyed it. I feel like when people say "ARR is not enjoyable, hang in there until Heavensward", it's because old players really want newcomers to give up on the game before reaching Heavensward which is a big step up.

Great talk Quazii. One year already! Felt the nostalgia hitting and couldn't stop smiling. Nearly shed a tear haha

  21. Had many good times, and many bad times in WoW. WoW burnt me beyond belief. Found better people in FFXIV and had more time to play other games thanks to the patch cycle of FFXIV.

  22. Great to see how positive of an experience this has been for you and likewise you for the game. Thatโ€™s what itโ€™s all about right? Having fun!

I also started almost a year ago and I agree, itโ€™s been amazing! Cheers Quazii

  23. I'm in the same boat. I played WoW on and off ever since TBC and it was just getting so arduous. All I would do was stress to get my M+ done, make time for raids, get the stupid chores done etc.

I logged into XIV in March last year at a good friend's insistence but I couldn't fit it in with a WoW schedule. Once 9.1 launched I was still feeling so hard done by the game and any free time was just chores, then the lawsuits hit and I morally just couldn't do it any more. I would raid log to see out the raid tier with my guild as a commitment, but all the other time I was in XIV. Once Sylvanas died, I called it quits and went full time XIV in about August. I haven't logged back into WoW since.

I then mono-gamed XIV right through to the Endwalker completion, moved to Oceanic from JP, then used the Road to 80 buff and went hard levelling as many jobs as I could to 80 before the buff ran out, so three months hard levelling and having a blast learning how all the jobs worked. Then I took a break for other games for a bit, and would log in here and there and it was no stress.

XIV has been nothing but a complete and utter joy. At first all the dialogue rubbed me the wrong way, then I settled in and like you I loved ARR and the finale was just gold. I love that everything remains relevant, no content is really redundant and the story and characters are some of the absolute best. I watched through almost all of Preach's play through, and checked in on other ex-WoW guys to see their experience too. Recently found your content, and been enjoying it as well.

The game is amazing, life is better, and whilst I keep an eye on Blizz to see if things will improve I really can't envision a world in where WoW is where I spend my MMO time any more.

  24. I think I watched your first vid a few hours after you posted it. Followed quite closely after that. My favourite bits were seeing your reactions to the scenery, music and even monsters, e.g. the sleep cactuars, the yawning Goobbue… "Look at THIS guy!". Haha, it was very enternaining. I'm glad the journey was so enjoyable for you.
