  1. Busy jobs in my view are those who suffer from even not using one gcd, best example black mage, in fire phase if i miss evne one gcd its gonna impact, i guess monk is also kind of same since his buff window is too short only 15 secs of twin snakes even if he misses one gcd and buff goes off, he might have to start all over again. No idea about samurai didnt play it but i agree with the list of busy jobs, since most ppl think busy means having tons of ogcds thats not what i think.

  2. I find this funny because, well, I had no idea about Paladin needing buffs before this video. And I main Dark Knight. All I've heard is people dunking on Dark Knight because all the other tanks got all these self-heals while DRK doesn't have great self-sustain by comparison. But it's like you said- if you know how to Push Button it doesn't matter. I know how to mitigate well so that unless things are REALLY hitting the fan in my every-day roulettes, I don't need those self-heals to begin with, and thanks to the Shadowbringer ability the boss/mobs are usually dead before they can kill me anyways

  3. Dancer at least has utility. The real issue is Machinist. Not only does it’s design limit who can actually play it optimally but it’s also ridiculously undertuned for what is supposed to be a job comparable to Samurai and Black Mage.

Either give it utility or a massive buff

  4. 13:16 Well now that a large amount of WoW players are coming to FFXIV you’re gonna see that a lot more often. Mark my words this community is gonna go down the shitter because of their salty exodus that you sang the praises of.

FFXIV’s community has always been pretty good because it wasn’t the size of WoW. Once you get that big things get bad. It’s happened to so many games it’s basically fact at this point.

  5. That list for tanks is bad because it goes by damage which is not what a tank is suppose to be. If you wanna talk about which is the best tank and who does there job better then it's warrior and paladin.

  6. It's kind of hilarious when people lock out jobs like that. To me what it tells is that this group is a bunch of try-hards who can't clear the fight unless they have a full "meta" party because they're actually not that good at their jobs and hit enrage and think its because Paladin does ever so slightly less DPS instead of them not playing optimally xD

  7. Haven't even finished watching the video and am going to sleep right now, but man, those are some bad translations you got there, Zepla, so lemme offer some help.

This is an accurate translation of what Yoshida said:

"With existing jobs, you always end up adding new elements on top of the current play feel, so they're crazy hard to balance. This is specially true for jobs known as 'pure' DPS, the Samurai and Black Mage, which, honestly everyone thinks their damage output leaves something to be desired.

But even small tweaks to their [potency] numbers, and [their damage output] shoots straight through the roof. But we do think we were a bit too stingy [with their potency], so as we speak, we've got 6.08 [in the pipeline], so we'll do some adjustments [to the Samurai's and Black Mages respective potencies] and such there [in 6.08]."

He goes on to explain how the dancer has the problem that their dps depends on their dance partner, and if they don't get to pick a pure DPS they'll be dragged down, so they'll increase the damage the dancer itself does (so that they do enough damage even if there's no pure DPS in the party).

He also says that jobs such as the Samurai, the Black Mage and the Monk don't do enough damage when you consider their difficulty (that's what they mean by "busy" – they're pressing a lot of buttons), so balancing the effort/reward in these jobs is one of their priorities.

  8. I main sage and when Zelpla said it’s a newer job so people aren’t bringing it into raids I smiled with hope just to be immediately shut down by reaper being number 1 dps, I love my sage in dungeons and doing damage but I feel we need some buffs or utility. Make sage great it’s such a fun job.

  9. The paladin pf exclusion reminds me of a thing that I ran into at the end of shadowbringers. I was pushing for e12s clear and ran into some groups that had excluded dancers for whatever reason. Made me chuckle, since that was in the time period when echo was a thing.

  10. 10% Summoner and no buff…. Im so sad about this. I just hope all these graphs and media info on dps stats and so on will not cause PF lockouts 🙁

  11. As a Monk main since stormblood I love seeing all the love the class has gotten.
However It makes me feel less special with all the new monk mains.

I'm more torn than Natalie Imbruglia circa 1997! XD

  12. whm ate dirt with potency nerf and sage is overall a bad job imo,
i cleared p2s with dancer bard and pally in my pt… their dps for sure is lower than other job in the same role but theres shouldn’t be an issue meeting the dps check if everyone respects the content and do the mechanic, we had 4 death 2 dd and 1% enrage, and we cleared at 10;12 with 1 death the run after
