You HAVE Esuna – FFXIV

I was lucky enough to become a healer after reaching shadowbringers, so i never had to deal with not knowing what esuna is… but some people do have to go through that moment of learning.

and in ffxiv you can even find healers who KNOW what esuna is, but REFUSE to use it. which is awkward…

  1. I think the best part is that we are shown what his bar looks like, and all this whm got is Glare, Holy, Afflatus Misery, and Res. He’s clearly got room.

He can’t even use Afflatus Misery either because he has no lily spenders on his bar. Its actually brilliant.

  3. Listen, you have to understand. Not all of have our lights in upstairs, so forgive me when I don't look at the party list and panic when I realise that someone has doom. I just wanna press my one button. Thank you.

  4. Man's talking about a DPS loss without his DoT or Swiftcast on his bar, he seems to be a DPS loss by existing instead, jfc. I've seen CNJ bars with more sense to them.

  5. Back in ESO, most PvE bosses had one-shot effects. Basically if you did anything wrong, you died. This could be anything from not having a tank, to sneezing wrong. Sadly the tank's taunt was single target, only last 15 seconds, over use broke it, and it was buggy as hell. So even with the best of tanks, it was easy for party wipes to happen for no good reason.

Why is this important? Well this made healers less, well healy in Eso. Some of the worse PvE effects couldn't be cleansed, so healers never ran any such ability unless asked. So healers tend to take effects that boosted party damage rather than anything to keep them alive. Still got blamed for the death of a dps that STOOD IN FIRE!

  6. Funny thing, one of the level 90 dungeons has an Esuna Doom, which looks nothing like an Esuna Doom, just as a little curve ball to keep you on your to- aaaaand the healer/dps just died to it.

  8. I have a feeling I should finally try playing FF14 just for the fact that I like being healer, and to provide at least one healer who cares more about success than claiming "Watch me be DPS, cause I'm disguising myself cause people hate me as a real DPS."

  9. I feel attacked since I'm "new" and I didn't know what Doom was until I got it on myself and didn't know I could have saved myself with Esuna OTL
(And about the blue bar either so… thanks :'D)

  10. That … hurts in so many levels
Like the amount of times as a tank I'm just left with, idk, 7 different variations of poison and bleed, but nahhhhhhhhh poor Bard has to spam their Esuna on CD TwT

  11. What pains me to see is that he has afflatus misery in his hot bar but none of the healing spells that get you the blood lily stacks😅 also just as i post this i noticed the pinned comment

  12. The game is kind of bad at teaching these things, healer isn't a very intuitive role. Most esuna-ables are completely benign, they barely deal enough damage to offset the natural in battle health regen. And don't get me started on the freecure thing. It's setting people up to play as inefficiently as is possible aside from standing around pressing no buttons.

  13. There are way too many healers who never use Esuna or have no idea what they can cleanse. Its okay to not cleanse weaker dots. But if half your group got paralyzed, silenced or anchored for 10 seconds please help us.

  14. As a healer who used esuna a lot on my teammates for their debuffs,,,, well. I can say that it was a little bit hard if your bar is spaghetti when you tend to have A LOT OF SPELL in lvl 90. (all of my esuna are on ctrl+T on all the healing job) or if, your teammates run away from you….

But in the other way, when you played dps or tank, I lived constantly in fear of wiping bcz of the esuna isn't here lol. (y it happen, dun scaith we know you, the rite of passage) So typing "esuna time" with a macro in the chat is the new way of avoiding wipe (yes.) xD
