  1. I learned to always hype up my ranked teammates in my head. I always look for ways to play off my teammates plays. I will help them so that when we wipe the enemy team we can all do /squats together. Trust the randoms. Trust the holy matchmaking. Thank our lord anf savior Yoshi P for these Ws.

  2. Nice to see them addressing those behaviors.
Been in plenty matches where people use the "good match and "nice job" sarcastically and just giving up or sitting at the spawn point for the whole game, essentially making it a 4v5 game, along with the sarcasm spam being a focus down and demoralizing measure as well. Has however in a couple of times been able to pull the game around with us other 4 keeping up courage to push forward and even win from a near defeat to win instead, while that 5th "good match" "nice job" spammer doing next to nothing.

They should probably make it far easier to report those players, simply by right clicking them, after a match, and then fill out the report etc. With measured information so it still requires some effort, as mentioned by others, so it doesn't fill up the tickets to GMs, from 20 to 400 or something. Albeit getting any cheaters and such banned quicker, would be delightful way to quickly make CC a far more enjoyable experience.

  4. Man, What's so wrong in painting the ground pink over a dead body? If you're that offended over an emote, then simply don't play any online game. Regardless what it is, CoD, Halo, OW, etc. You will run into that, and for the most part its always been accepted as "part" of the game or fun. Now, if a player is slandering you with names, cursing, racial slurs, or just down right insulting then by all means punish the player, but I do not get butt hurt over anyone popping off fire works over my dead body, just means that I annoyed them enough to warrant such a victory dance, no different than NFL players doing their little jig after a touch-down, Harmless fun.

  5. People are emotional, and competition like this can bring out our emotional gut responses. I'm not immune from salt, but I'm introspective, so I like to know what causes it.

Strangely, I can keep cool through pve wipes and helping people through new content. And have accepted the 33% win dice roll of Frontlines. Ranked CC was new, though, and started to wear on me a little.

I think almost getting out of a rank, only to go on a losing streak, put me on tilt twice. Bad emotions were due less to hostility, agression, or being a jerk, and more to that slight sense of aggravation, dejection, or helplessness that comes from putting in a great deal of effort, showing good results, and yet it is still not enough to achieve success.

In a solo situation, there is the realization that if there is no success then that means an individual still needs to improve more. But in a team game, there will always be the kernel of a thought that, "maybe it was my teammates?"

These are things that are normal to experience in competitive team play. In CC, there is less RNG in the direct gameplay, so it's tough to blame bad beats and easier to blame other people. And, saltiness will be something everyone goes through. But, being aware of it and learning to cope with it is part of improving. Going on tilt usually results in consistent bad performance, and not having one's head in the game is often a reason for defeat.

  6. Honestly, I'm more worried about the usage of scripts to "play better" in PvP modes. They should focus on that more than just the behavioral shit. I hope this doesn't turn into League where only "bad words" are banned, but griefing, trolling, and scripting aren't. Oh wait, this game already encourages this kind of passive-aggressive behavior even outside PvP.

I'm not having much hopes, but if they DO take action towards extreme salt and stuff mentioned in that post, good riddance. If not, oh well. GMs are extremely ambiguous too, so you can get reported, and get banned a month later, so I'm mostly skeptical.

  7. As much as I would love to see a crackdown on cheating, I will never be on board with anti-cheat software. For various reasons. Glad to see they are taking action short of that though

  8. I hope they actually ask people why they might not have participated in a match and not just ban people…

I had the problem in a match recently, that my keyboard basically went out due to a software bug (THANKS LOGITECH -.-) in the middle of the match, about 1min in. As a result, I was standing for about 4min at the spawn, couldn't play, and panicked and tried to fix the keyboard somehow (it only fixed with a pc reboot).
For another player, this might look like not participating, but for me, I wanted to participate and couldn't because of the keyboard bug… Would suck to also get banned for this.

  9. I think being nice and a good sport makes a different. First, I always say "Hello" at the beginning. If we are really doing, specifically blasting the whole enemy party down and taking full control of the crystal, I pop a "Nice Job". Even if we lose a match, I still use a "GG" if there is was some kind off effort, unless we sucked so bad, that it would meaning sarcastically. Party moral is important, not that importan like skills and teamwork. Investing 1 sec for pressing a button is worth it.

  10. I literally have a macro set on my keyboard that allows me to fully afk any pvp match. It auto targets players, casts heals, and moves randomly. I have no intention to stop using it and have never been banned or suspended for using it. Anyone that PvPs in this PvE game is a fucking retard. Balance is always going to be unfair and ridiculous. Any good player is going to use this shit for exp gains, or wolf marks for rewards. Your best tactic is to try really hard at the start of the game, and if you start to lose early, just throw to get it over as fast as possible. It's the best for exp/hr and rewards/hr. No one good at this game gives a flying fuck about PvP. It's a meme and anyone that cares about it is a meme too. Good luck proving that really bad players are not "trying their best". All this policy does is allow for people to troll and get newer inexperienced players reported and banned for simply sucking at the game. No chance they can accurately tell the difference between whether someone is shit at the game or just trolling and not trying. People like me have nothing to fear from this. Get bent.

  11. I am glad Spammers are getting punished because it's really gets on the nerves.

but like reporting players over some harmless taunting ? that's just another whole lvl of player being too sensitivity…
Like ffs this PVP,Not Snowflake vs Snowflakes,Getting Taunted is thw core dna part of the ANY games with PvP,It'll rally you up for better or worse but that's what makes PvP fascinating

This is like reporting players on Halo who does the tea bag and Halo itself is fully self aware of how iconic a tea bag is but then again,I am not that into Halo and i bet there are people reporting players for tea bagging

  12. Whenever I come across toxic people in PvP in CC I just laugh it off as it's actually pretty funny they'd get mad over FFXIV's PvP. It's not that serious, no need to get mad over it. But man. I'm surprised SE only now cares, toxicity in PvP is an age-old thing. I still remember the one and only time I had to report someone over it and they didn't even check my report, legit to this day is unresponded. I don't know why people are only now starting to reporting enough to make SE care.

  13. I am casual pvp player. I love it and if I die I die, its all about fun everyone. I have yet to try the new stuff. My brain is low whoa lol. But I am sure its fun. This is just if we win or loose its about having fun. I have played in other mmos were the toxic stuff was very real in pvp. But also if I been in groups where we all work together as a team. Team work after all is gonna make it for sure. Thank you found you on my feed about something else. So took a peek. BTW love your artwork. Was wondering where it came from? 🙂

  14. Bottom is line PVP isn't for everyone and if you can't stomach the toxicity and competitiveness that comes with PVP oriented content then stick to savage raiding or ultimates. This is the first game I've heard that bans players for acting "unprofessional". Good luck with the PVP scene down the line when a good half of the players have been banned for acting "unprofessionally" because we have overly sensitive babies who think that bad manners deserve a ban and have to be cradled with sunshine and rainbows every PVP session.

  15. Already said this on another video.
Tbh toxicity and competition goes hand in hand. I think it's impossible to create a real competition without toxic behavior, that's just the nature of competition. If you regulate it too much it will become a casual brawl eventually. Especially taunting should be allowed. That's just part of strategy.

  16. To be fair, I've had quite a few matches turn around after I put "Good Match!" in chat three times after a few really rough squad wipes.

I kinda dont wanna stop as it works a fair amount.

  17. Im sorry man, but if someone gets trigerred over /laugh spamming when they're killed, they 1: need to get better in order to not get killed 2: get a thicker skin. If /laugh actively makes someone angry and by extension makes them play worse, then its a mental game aspect that you C A N (not should) play around/with.

  18. the other night I had a long pvp session running from 6pm to 2am where i wanted to hit gold but just couldn't, everytime i'd get to silver 1 even in a 3 win streak then lose. And i admit i started being an asshole the last few matches, then luck started turning around when i won again some matches in a row and this guy on the opposite team /tell me my character was cool and how i steamrolled them (even tho i was on a terrible losing streak up to that point and started chatting up and laughing together about some dumb stuff that happened to both of us and we added each other.
TL;DR: people can reach you outside of pvp since it's people on the same database, so it's not worth it to be an ass, people who want to be toxic let them, they'll be miserable and very alone.
It might not have been much but that person made my whole week. Thank you Sin-san and be blessed with good rng
