  1. The same people saying their all "bark and no bite" will be the same people crying and complaining when they get banned. I wish them luck. I get gposers might (huge MIGHT) be caught in the crossfire, but people have been dealing with the consequences of a few since biblical times. Either way, I'm still enjoying myself. I, personally, have nothing to worry about.

Also, unfortunately, A LOT of people who saw the weapon leaks prior were shitting on them and saying they didn't want them. That's probably what he was referring to. The disdain was ALL over twitter on my end.

  2. The only tool I feel like it's mandatory to play the game is the ping issue ones, allowing you to play as if you are inside the server room. The difference with 100ms+ ping in some classes are insane.

  3. The statement on the ultimate weapons may be related to people looking for the weapons to mod them over the existing thordan weapons instead of having to play the new ultimate to gain them. Or simply re color them existing ones, they need to know what the new ultimate weapons look like to be able to recolor them.

  4. Not only does it take away from the immersive aspect it is a form of cheating. I hope they Randomize Boss patterns on a few bosses then see how ur team work holds up

  5. Blizzard: you want to use 3rd party tools? We'll make the raids require them.

SE: we don't want you using these, but we understand some things are dated, we're going to check out the popular ones and see if we can implement their functionality…

Such a different philosophy from one another

  6. So, from the Console player point of view, PC players are just low level players that need some "help" to do the content… poor guys, they're bad at the game so they need to do things easier, can't be helped, is not their fault they suck at it, if you can't beat the content on a console, you need to know you're just a rubbish player, don't blame the game for it LOL, then, where is the master race?…lol

  7. Imagine threatening your paying customers for leaks supplied by your employees… Then saying that the solution to HUD (same since AAR) mods is a pie in the sky that they are "working on"…
What an incompetent childish rant, and this guy is regarded as a "god developer", dont make me laugh…

  8. I don't give a flying HOOT about dps i just need my chat bubbles so I can actually tell who the hell is talking to me only to find out 3 minutes later of chat box clicking that they were standing right in FRONT of me the whole time. It's wild to me that people think that's fine in a what? 12 year old multiplayer game? Even NPCs have chat bubbles. Even just having sharpened textures and something to fix the disgusting, blurry, washed out color grading the game has breathed new life into the experience for me. People who say they don't feel like they're missing out just don't realize they're missing out.

  9. My opinion is that most mods are harmless. If someone wants to display what song is playing, or change the look of their cooldown timers, or have clothing/body mods, that hurts nobody. Now, regarding the more controversial things like ACT triggers and cactbot– as this lodestone post even says, it won't clear the fights for you. I personally haven't used cactbot, but I use ACT triggers to call out raid buffs so I know when to dump my burst. I've also used triggers for nael quotes because let's face it, memorizing shakespeare to read mechanics isn't fun. I think a lot of the negative pushback against people who use third party apps like ACT comes from people who either have a misunderstanding of what those tools actually do, or they have the mentality of "If I have to suffer, so should you." third party apps (triggers or cactbot) won't clear the content for you, and they won't make you a better player, but what they CAN do is help with callouts, or help you get into the rythm of the fight. People who want to invalidate Neverland's WF clear because of it are silly imo. And if I had to guess, I'd say the'yll never touch the content themselves either.

  10. As a console player I'd kill for a game dps meter just so I can see on pull what works and where I can improve I feel bad when I have to ask my static how my dps is when all the time when we do endgame stuff.

  11. Packet spoofing was used by bots to get quickly trough story. You could usually see it in adventurers guild or in Mor Dhona, bots teleporting from npc to npc. But i havent seen it for quite some time, so they probably already did some countermeasures to adress this old problem(must say, finally).
As server emulation goes, its not impossible to reverse engineer it. There are "unofficial" servers for any major mmorpg after all, even if they use simillar server-client programing. Its just very time consuming process and never 100% accurate..

  12. Technically, Discord would be a 'tool that allows players to more easily complete content'. Easier communication than what is provided in-game would fit that stipulation. Then again, how would that look to the gaming community as a whole if Square Enix actually banned people for using Discord while playing FFXIV? There's an infinite amount of nuance to this topic that Square Enix doesn't want to deal with at all; which is completely understandable. Their zero-sum approach to third-party tools is bulletproof in terms of liability, but also lazy.

  13. Love your game yoshi but if you wanna drop my $30 a month or whatever it is I pay with retainers because I choose to customize y'all's awful UI, I will simply take my business elsewhere 🤷🏻‍♂️ it's really as simple as that

  14. To be honest the only mod I wouldn't want to live without is the combo button mod. It basically takes what PVP skills do and applies it to PVE skills….so awesome for reducing button bloat on classes like AST. That and HD textures are fun too.

  15. Not sure this would be brought to light over the new Ultimate; I suppose we can pretend they (addons) haven't existed in previous world-firsts, I guess … I believe it stems, way more, from PvP and those people that have addons that allow them to switch target instantly and perform a 'killshot' without them actually having to do any work, and all the rage reports SE GMs have gotten over Crystalline Conflict cheaters.

Let's be real. There are far, FAR more reports SE has received concerning PvP (since 6.1) harassment/cheaters than who got World-first and how. As a playerbase, we should also condemn those using such addons that benefit them advancing over others in something as highly competitive as Crystalline Conflict. It is equivalent to RMT/P2W in how it provides advantages over others you are in direct conflict with for greater rewards.

  16. I use XIValexander to reduce my Ping
I am an Australian playing Machinist, my ping is 200+ with a VPN
Without it, I can't double weave or even single weave, Esp in Hypercharge
Without XIValexander I would have to abandon my FC, my Friends list, my Static, friendships I've made since 2.0 just to have normal ping

But tools like Cactbot or UWU Gaol (Auto Markers) are things I really dislike
I expressed my dislike of the UWU Gaol markers to my Static and they understood and stopped using it for my sake alone, and the 1-2 people who used it shifted to a Callout plugin that only they can hear

  17. NOT THAT I USE IT MYSELF… the only Addon I was personally aware of is Gshade. And I'm pretty sure it's never helped anyone do anything other than waste multitudes of time and slow their framerate to 6fps.

  18. ok I follow other streamers that postthings like this; but they actually dont react to anyone that comments; here's hoping you are different…So, like you mentioned at the top of your post about being color blind; I also have a disability but it effects my hands (my right arm is paralyzed at the shoulder, and the motorskills in that hand are maybe that of an infant) now I play on pc, and one of the "3rd party mods" is truly the ONLY way I can play endgame content would they really begrudge disabled players, access to their game for something that doesnt automate a damn thing but literally levels the playing field for those players and take a page from Blizzard's handbook (direct quote when I challenged a suspension there during WOD for a similar type addon) and tell me ro "Find a different game"

  19. From the XIVLauncher discord: "For you as a user, right now, we believe that at this time, this changes nothing." We don't care. We're going to keep using them. Cry about it.

  20. Uhhh, 100% people would not be motivated to do ultimates if they didnt know what the rewards looked like. In my FC, it is the look of the weapon that SOLEY motivated them to even step foot in. I think youd have a massive backlash if you had a group go in only to be highly disappointed to know what comes out of it.

  21. Bro, I haven't seen the video yet. I've just scrolling through comments and 1/3 people are asking for a DPS meter.
On the one hand, yes, I understand that you want to know if you're pulling your weight in a fight.
HOWEVER, most people will use that tool to point whoever is not doing enough damage, and no, I'm not talking hard content. I've seen people even do that in normal dungeons and roulettes.
Let's be honest, people, we all know that not having an official DPS meter is necessary for the well being and sanity of the playerbase. They won't EVER implement it because they know this, and honestly, as an average player, I do savage and do enough damage with my partners. It's not about individual damage, it's about the damage you do as a group, it encourages teamwork and work shoulder to shoulder, which is, at the end, one of the baselines of this game.
I don't want this game to become WoW.

  22. Feels weird to make a statement which amounts to kinda nothing?

Making changes to the base game is good, making changes for console palyers is good.

But if you can use mods without being detected/punished and they make the gameplay experience better for the player, having better access to information you want to have, they will ALWAYS do that. Its like players voluntarily not looking at boss guides

  23. I find the letter quite well timed with uhm.. my reports.
I lately reported more than 15 people who got hacked and their account used to post more links for a "giveaway" on the "forum"
And so far 58 bots that teleport from quest to quest.
In about a short time of two weeks.
