  1. The Olympics are competitive and people tend to be respectful. Just because something is competitive, doesn't mean that respect has to fly out the window. This is toxic gaming culture and it's like that because people have accepted that is has to be like that. It doesn't have to be though. I'm all for SE trying to make their PVP environment as good as it can be. If people are unhappy about that, they can return to whatever other PVP game where the community is being labeled as salt mines or the ass crack of the internet or whatever else League of Legends players are called these days.

  2. I've mentioned this before, but this really does highlight the sad side of the FFXIV community. Simply put, most players (at least in NA) are just pussies. They simply aren't built for general conflict and/or being tasked with self reflection in an effort to improve (or simply "try" ) in most cases.
When you were reading in UwU, you think it is a joke. However, I'd argue that is dead ass how he thinks he needs to talk to these people being "offended". While some calls to action mentioned are fine, much of it is just blatant babying of the oversensitive community. As you and many others have stated, their time/resources could be better spent on things that don't necessarily fall in line with protecting certain people's fee fees.

  3. I think the ranking system for promoting in pvp is a piece of shit. I hate square enix for their social interaction for ppl to stay tuned in content. Yeah im a toxic, ive became one, but not without a reason. I have 120+ wins. And im fcknly stuck in silver. Its the most stupid decision for the whole pvp-dev team to let ppl with last scores b4 promotion and "other" ones, like the ones who just jumpd in new tier, to play in one group together. I see ppl dont play sharp, i see them not doing control sequences properly i see those pussies playing for fun. And yeah i hate those trolls who did something `horny` like with their portraits, like they only wanna show how good they are like pepe clowns. Its kinda stupid.. and yeah i can say, mosly 80+ % who got jumped into crystal are just pussies, who`ve been carried in tier. Just lucky bitches. Who cant even properly resist in 1v1. Pfft..

  4. I’m a new player and sometimes in Frontlines after killing an enemy, I either did a jump or /pray or /kneel in front of the dead body.

Labeling that as harassment is honestly quite extreme lol

  5. I happened to play Ninja on PvP because it was the only job I needed to level, so that was a happy coincidence. It forced me to learn a job that I probably wouldn't touch otherwise and I love it.

  6. AoE stun from range on 15s cooldown is quite overpowered, but it is not as much as WHM. I think 20s or 25s would be much more balance.

I did find people who spam 'Push the Crystal' or 'Fall back and Regroup' but in order to get attention and coordination, which fits the situation too. However, i also found people who spam 'Nice Job' or 'Good Match' but does not contribute or contribute very poorly. People are doom posting about the message like it is not a common courtesy to treat other people with respect even in competitive environment.

My main job in Ranked is BLM, and i can tell you this; Very rarely, someone will use the negative mark on me and spam 'Good Match' like its no tomorrow or 'Nice Job' everytime i die. It happens, and very rare from my experience, but a bit disheartening. Im passionate about PVP in general, but i absolutely despise the fact that people commonly associate competitive spirit with taunting, or some demeaning behaviors. It is a choice, not a requirement. Shockingly enough, rubbing it in is not a competitive spirit.

  7. I hate when Yoshi-p acts so ignorant when it comes to the PvP community. Quick chat spamming has been a problem in the Feast/CC since they introduced it in 2016 or 17. The reason why they introduced Quick chat was the chat in the Feast Rankedwas so toxic all because of the exclusive mounts. Now they want to punish ppl for taunting which is completely stupid. Yoshi-p said other games have PvP element in their game that one of the reasons why he want to keep trying to get PvP right in FFXIV. But guess what you can taunt in other games and you won't get banned for it.

  8. There is hardly any cheaters in ranked. This is coming from someone who is at crystal and got +300 games and seen zero. It is easy to assume someone is cheating because you do not understand what happened or someone is really good. And with the "toxicity" in pvp, FFXIV has avoided lots of this stuff because many of the people never touched pvp until now, and see how competitive pvp games are always source of toxicity. It is like Ascians who always knew bliss and never experienced the "real world" of despair and joy.

  9. Failproof every jobs, make every resource a brainless spam, make everything crit and direct hit so there's no fluctuation in DPS, make every DOT and buffs automatically reapply. Not happy? Here's a potency bone to get on top of logs. Whatever this is, a catering to neophytes, an effort to dissolve jobs elitism and toxic pride or an endeavor to make every job as popular as the others, it still ends up making the gameplay feel ever shallower and bad.

  10. The number of Warriors I can outduel with GNB since these changes… GNB isn't garbage, it's only when the auto-scripting cheaters instantly focus you down the millisecond you hit your LB

  11. I think PvP for XIV has always been more of a new territory in general. For YEARS, we've had pvp but it was never the main focus or attraction when you came to play. It was just…There. Now with a dedicated pvp team and actual feedback that does show that they're paying attention but also learning as they're going, it's going to be less of making patch adjustments and more of "How do we make Pvp an enjoyable and balanced experience whist not overly being too constrictive with wanting to provide a positive experience?". I'll give credit to yoshi-p and the pvp team for knocking it out of the park with crystal conflict. I'm more interested to see how they're going to take every learning experience they get and turn pvp into an actual thing that's just as enjoyable as playing through MSQ or raids.

  12. Why is everyone crying about war. If it was so broken that change is insignificant. Ninja Sam and whm are busted as fuck😂. I put duel war so easily with gnb and he’s trash to me in pvp 😂

  13. I feel like the people who think Warrior is OP in PVP are the same people who refuse to focus down a target and just jump on the first thing in range, which is usually a Warrior because that’s literally why they exist, to run in and pester people so they get distracted by the Warrior instead of focusing down more threatening targets

  14. "Warrior isn't overpowered", says the Warrior main in gross disregard of the fact Warriors can pull people to them, and can stun an entire team for a few seconds allowing their team to go to town.

  15. You are streamer and famous, you do not experience the passive aggressiveness with emotes and sarcasm, (which I am glad) someone got suspended for slapping me, because it became a trend to slap before exiting a raid if you find the person 'sucked', having caught on it, I started to make a record of it, and then the one person who slapped and made one passive aggressive comment 'no thanks', was the unfortunate one whom I reported and they take it seriously, it is getting tiring and it made me feel so insecure and I hated everything about it, so to aviod my feelings hurt more, I reported, these are serious issues that sounds weird to those who never need to worry about it. Just because you use no words don't mean we don't know what you intended. There is never a reason to. It is also why I have't done pvp yet, but I may now that this came out, I feel safer.

  16. There is a reason warrior, white mage, red mage are in a majority of matches. "Over powered" doesnt mean the damage they do. Red mage had a frontal CC with no cast time on a 15 second cd, warrior 15 sec aoe stun, white mage I dont even need to go over.

  17. I dont think people handling pvp badly is an FF14 issue. Like, competitive situations bring out toxic behavior in ALL games. Our game is no different.
