I’ve played FFXIV for 30 days in a row as a new sprout coming over from World of Wacraft (WoW). I reflect upon the journey and what I have learnt.

  1. Thank you for being part of our 30-day journey through FFXIV. I have not been able to respond and reply to every comment, but I have read every single one of them – on behalf of Potato-chan, Melon-kun and myself, a big thank you for your warm support and words of encouragement. Cheers to the the first month of unbelievable twists and turns in the game, here's to many, many more months in the road ahead. We taking a small break from the daily episodes today to celebrate this milestone – we will be back with the next episode by latest Thursday (15 July).

  2. I love this video and mostly agree, but there is a severe issue with Raid content in this game. Like it being too easy, not launching anything for long periods of time etc. SE and the 14 dev team are very good at what they do but holy hell they are very good at completely shafting the hardcore raiding playerbase. I loged in for the first time in 4 months after getting burned out because the last tier just… didnt matter and that really sucked. my group 4main 4 sub'd the entire current raid tier and it was only after we fully geared out 2 seperate units per person before the team finally decided to tell us that all of that gear didnt matter at all (no ultimate till next xpac). I really really hope next xpac the raiding playerbase gets some love so i can enjoy every aspects instead of "just" story and music (although those things are freaking excellent).

  3. You've become only the second channel that I watch every day. None of the other new FFXIV players pay attention to all the subtle details like you do.
Keep at it and you'll be learning all the mechanics better as you start repeating dungeons and raids.

  4. I have enjoyed your FF XIV videos from the start. I love that you are so passionate about the game. I can really see myself in the way you talk about the game, and how the music, visuals, vistas and characters move you. Two more expansions for you to explore, and I can't wait to come along for the journey. <3

  5. Congrats on making it 30 days, I'm sure it went by like lightning while playing through the game. I'm always eager to get through the msq, and it always leaves you wanting for more. I'm truly greatful that such a talented dev team decided to dedicate their time to creating such a masterpiece. No matter where I go, I always come back to my home of Eorzea 😀

  6. @Quazii one more instance that shows the love and care that the development team has for the game and it's players:

When the Viera and the Hrothgar was to be released, NO head gear would be visible. Some devs went into unpaid overtime to adjust some gear to be visible on these two races, and they did that behind Yoshi-P backs. He only found out in the fan fest.

  7. As someone who's played this game since Beta and have gotten weary of it; watching you discover everything for the first time is giving me real joy and happiness as I remember doing the same with the FC I was in at the time, and honestly; I am envious of you to get to experience all of FFXIV for the first time. I hope you will forever have fun and enjoyment in Eorzea, and thank you for giving XIV a try to start with 🙂

  8. This is probably the most eloquent and expressive video on a newer player's thoughts on XIV.

I think if they wanted to, Square could probably use this video to convince people to play their game because you hit all the right points. Take care time, take breaks, and enjoy the journey because you only get to experience it once!

  9. Your videos are great 🙂 You are almost playing through the game as fast as I am and its a joy to be able to see your reactions to things I just lived. I am in SB right now and having a bit of a hard time since I dont find it as good as HW. Nevertheless, every morning I just want to log into this game and continue my journey to see what is next. This game has rekindled an interest in good story telling that I have very much missed in WoW. The thought of having to log into WoW to do my weekly grinds makes me puke, while thinking about FF14 only gives me good feelings. It is truely a masterpiece of a game and I really hope that Endwalker will continue with it. I for one will definitely be ready to adventure through it on the 19. November. Vacation already booked. Great game, great videos, great guy!

  10. I gotta say, I'm really enjoying watching your stream progress. I haven't watched all of them, because you've done some content I haven't gotten to (particularly some raids). But I'm JUST ahead of you ish in the story, so I keep up on those.

I'm really enjoying it, and reliving those moments so soon after experiencing them myself.

Now, if I could stop spending money on Fantasia

  11. I installed the game on June 26, and I completed Prae last night as a black mage. It was seeing you playing this game that brought me to FF14 and realize it may have been the MMO my life was missing and had been trying to make WoW for me for over a decade with very little success.

I have never experienced the depth of emotion just playing a game as I have in 14, let alone in such a way that I could share my emotions with other players and feel welcomed by them sharing their own emotional experience with that story back. The moment when I connected who Alphie's grandfather was overwhelming for me, because it took me beating Praetorium to have it fully set in and my brain just felt so much more connection to Alphie from then on. I shared this with another player, and we had a connection for having the same jaw-dropping realization at the same moment in the story. I had spent most of that Praetorium run just chatting with my partymates about favorite jobs, what our next goals were, help about a mechanic I missed (whoops, totally didn't get my card authorized before taking the lift!) and being assured that it is a common occurrence your first time in.

This game has huge, warm, welcoming arms for it's players, and I love hanging out with other Warriors of Light, and I want to specifically thank you, Quazii, for sharing your own experience through this content and helping me find a home in this MMO.

  12. all this aspect, which is why FF14 players very excited about the company next single player flagship, FFXVI title which is handled by same division, same keystaff of Heavensward with Yoshi-P as producer. hopefully Soken is also involved as composers.

  13. Simply because FFXIV is a excellent written RPG first and a MMO second. The astounding music just brings it to another level. This is the only game that I actually went and bought all the physical soundtrack Blu-rays for in my time of gaming since the Apple II days. Welcome to FFVIX!
