  1. Congrats on the clear! Seeing the way the jpn datacenter does this fight compared to Chaos messed with my head a little, in our pf if you can’t do uptime brambles you better not join at all 😅

  2. Hey Quazii, I don't play WoW and haven't since TBC, but now that you're doing endgame content, I would like to hear your thoughts on the difference between the two games when it comes to their respected endgames. Their strengths and weaknesses, what you would like to change, and whatnot, etc. I would love a deep dive into that topic if you're ever willing to discuss it.

  3. As a veteran raider in FFXIV(raided since Heavensward till present) and one who also plays on Elemental (Kujata), I can give the following as advice when it comes to raiding terminologies we often use:

Protean spread (originated from A3S) = clock positions = N NE E SE S SW W NW positions.
Chariot (originated from T9) = close proximity AoE = move away from the boss. The size of these type of AoE may vary from boss to boss.
Out = go away from the boss. This is very similar to the chariot call out. Sometimes used to force players to run very far away from the boss. This is utilised on some fights where the boss does a mechanic that pulls your characters in to the middle of the arena.
Dynamo (originated from T9) = doughnut shaped AoE = be close to the boss or sometimes be inside the boss' hitbox.
In = go inside the boss hitbox. This is very similar to the dynamo call out. Sometimes used to force the party to stack together under the boss.
Spread = spread out as a party indicating members to not be near each other. Most of the time this is understood to be with the 'out' call out to avoid people being directly on top of one another.
Cardinals = basically a command for players to split up into cardinals NSEW. Often used for mechanics where a tanks and healers need to go with a DPS partner on the cardinals. In the JP server, we normally mark these zones with the letter waymarks ABCD so sometimes this can also be called as LETTERS in call out.
Inter-cardinals = Same as above just NE SE SW NW positions. Similarly for the letters, inter-cardinals are normally marked with numbers so we call them NUMBERS sometimes.

More common sense ones that people run as call outs but easily decipherable:
Left = go to left of boss.
Right = go to right of boss.
North/South/East/West = basically go to the stated direction. Just fill in the inter-cardinals for this.
Behind = go behind the boss.
Front = go in front of the boss or right at the face.
Sides = split on the sides of the boss in a 4-4 grouping or just be generally at the sides.
Stack = stack together. Most commonly, this happens on the rear of the boss because we're kind to our melees with positionals like that.

Do note that every fight will have their weird specific call outs. Like for this instance you call Brambles for the brambles positioning and Planes for the tile positioning. They are essentially one and the same for most of the call outs but people try to keep the names with the fight's mechanic to simplify things in your head.

P.S. Quazii, if you're looking for a tank to mentor you on how to tank better I'd be very willing to help you out in improving your PLD gameplay
