While the Raid weapons are very awesome, there are tons of awesome weapons that are obtainable in solo play too you can check out relic weapons.
Shiny 🙂
That video was great. Idk about chat. They said top is the hardest but I’ve heard DSR is. I just finished DSR and starting too soon. Can’t wait to see. Thanks for the video! Ultimates are my favorite content in the game other than msq.
if you want to do ultimates while progressing in difficulty i recommend doing UWU > UCOB > TEA > DSR > TOP
ultimates definitely change your mindset and teach you many things that can be taken into the next ultimate
also i dont know if anyone mentioned this to you, but ultimate raids' in-game lore are retelling of major story points, basically a "what if this villian or boss managed to get their way?" so you fight them in an even more powered up state. its very cool!
Those WoW weapons at the start. We have something like that. Relic weapons are weapons you evolve and for a time retain the same appearance but with a different style of glow or weapon recolor. The ARR relics have the longest train of retaining the same model, but the rest are similar for like two or three steps. All are completely dissimilar models by the end of the process.
The UWU and TEA weapons actually use the models from…well, UWU is based on lv 50 content, so an ARR relic model is used, and TEA is based on lv 60 content, so uses an HW relic model. Just with glows reflective of the raid.
Whilst the ultimate weapons do reperesent the the most prestigious weapons a player can get, the relic weapons available at the end of each expansion are also some truly outstanding looking weapons and are available with considerably less effort if a little more grinding. It varies from relic to relic on how grindy they are, and there are only relics available for jobs that were released when those relics went live. For example, there is no Dark Knight ARR relic, but there is a Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers and Endwalker ones. Sage and Reaper only have Endwalker relics being the newest jobs.
Each relic grind will feature somewhere between 4 and 8 different weapons with different levels of glowyness. Thankfully, you can buy each of these weapons as a cosmetic and pop them in your glamour dresser to use as you see fit.
ARR relics are pretty straightforward barring the one step where you need to complete certain FATES (open world events) to complete books you need for one of the steps. Otherwise pretty straightforward.
HW relics are by far the easiest, simply a case of using currency and time. If you do a little prep before starting on one of these you can easily knock out an entire HW relic in a night or two.
Stormblood relics are obtained from a seperate zone called Eureka. I've not had much experience with Eureka, though I understand it's pretty easy as long as you have a group of people to go along with, as well as containing some interesting raid encounters and whatnot. Really should put some time into this at some point.
Shadowbringers relics are much the same as Stormblood, with a seperate zone called Bozja in which to earn your mighty weapons. Again, lotta fun with a posse, some cool raid fights and a decent story in this one as well. Again, I've not spent enough time there to give a full overview, but its a pretty good time from what I know.
The Endwalker relics are strictly a currency sink which makes them very easy to get, though a little time consuming. They're also tied to one of the funnier quest lines in the game, which I'm sure you'll see on your way through the story.
Kind Regards,
Isa.
4:54 In FF, if you sync down higher ilvl gear, the sockets are outright disabled. Depending on the fight, it's sometimes still better to scale down rather than use ilvl appropriate gear, but aside from the Stormblood ultimates, the difference is very marginal. Like fractions of a percent.
Ultimate raids are FFXIV's most difficult content, and reward only these cosmetic weapons and a title – so they better be good! But these raids are 20 minute boss rushes based on a "what-if" retelling of the raid/MSQ stories that they are themed around. If you wipe, you start at the beginning and go again. It's challenging, can be exhausting, but omg the adrenaline! Thanks for the video <3
Check out relic weapons. They make wow artifact weapons to shame.
WoW player WoW player WoW player bro is ok we understand you from WOW me to i play for 16 years non stop now i am in FFXIV
If you haven’t already, I hope you check out Relic weapons too! Every expansion there is a grind for stages of a weapon of your choice (you can have multiple too) and I think there’s 6-8 stages per weapon. Each stage changes the model or makes it glow, so every other stage changes the model. (Correct me if I’m wrong I only have a few relic weapons, WoW ruined my want to grind 😅)
You’ll probably hear a lot about the new relic weapons this expansion not being much of a grind because you can just buy the stages with in-game currency rather than grind FATES in specific zones (from my experience this is what most relics require). It wasn’t that hard – especially with friends – just time consuming, but I guess they wanted to tone down the grind. We also didn’t get an extra zone to grind in (the past few relics have come with an island to spend time at, you’ll definitely hear of Eureka and Bozja. I love Bozja but Eureka is not for me.) Maybe we’ll get one in Dawntrail (next expansion)!
So the Ultimate raids are a step above the standard hard/extreme and savage raids. And they can have very different rules (im looking at you Dragonsong Reprise).
I usually run extremes for the thrill of the fight but Ultimates are daunting.
The gear sync in FF isn't perfect, it's just the opposite problem to WoW. Gear that is synced down in FF has meteria melds completely disregarded, which is weird because it would be so easy for them just sync those melds down to level appropriate materia. So if you want BIS for ultimates you have to actually get the highest item level gear for the fight that won't be synced down and meld that. Although the time it takes to do that pales in comparison to the prog so it's just a minor annoyance in the grand scheme of things.
Just found this channel and I see you getting into FFXIV. Hope you get to react to the Job Actions video from Endwalker. No spoilers there just a showcase of each job’s abilities. Have fun on your journey!
I don't like those over the top models to be honest.
Even the relic weapons for the most part are too much for me. The one exception being the HW paladin one because the red weapon with the blue shield are great. Also the activation effect syncs with your stance and that looks dope.
I favour more subdued glams and weapons.
That being said, the UWU WHM one goes hard.
Careful, as a former player of FFXIV I'll warn you.
The "Nice Community" thing is an act; they're only here to watch you react to their shiny toys and MSQ, once that's done they'll drop you and find a flaw to smear your name. They've done it with 100% of every player / streamer / content creator moving over. Keep your expectations in check, don't fall for their honeyed words 'cause the community is absolutely terrible once you're no longer new.
Good luck, have fun.
There are other skins as well, so its worth shopping around so to speak. Like alot of people think that the best Dark Knight glam is rhe relic from HeavensWard, and it is sweet. The HW relic for Summoner is also sweet too. Stat wise they are super outclassed by now, but good glam is good glam. Dont be afraid to grind for glam, its always worth it. We take our fashion very seriously.
Edit: you see, when i started i thought id never heal either… I main healer now.
Russ kind sound like Scripe with a different accent or ist it just me.
Can someone who's a regular viewer of his answer this honestly?… Does he always stall like this? Because it's actually borderline insufferable
In normal raids gear have basic colour that you can’t change.
The gear in savage raids is dyeables meaning you can change its colour.
Ultimate as you can see it’s unique with glowing special effects.
Of course Extreme Trials and Alliance Raids also have their own rewards and the Relic Weapon grinds
I really like DSR, TEA, TOP models
Yeah having an Ultimate Weapon is a badge of honor but whenever I'm doing my roulettes and I see one I roll my eyes because more often than not the ones with those weapons don't care about doing the content so they play terribly. I have seen so many horrible players with Ultimate weapons. If you have one you should know better than to die to the SAME mechanic 5 times. I stopped being wowed by them a long time ago due to this.
Sounds much better in Japanese haha I really wasn't feeling the English voices this feels much more natural with one piece
Think there has been a little Math Error, you'd only have to do DSR and TOP 19 Times for all weapons cause we are currently at 19 Jobs, not 21. We will be at 21 with Dawntrail, but for now its 4+4+5+3+3=19
there are 2 groups of raiders, raiders who do their research to know the mechanics and raiders who go in head on. even veteran WOW players have a hard time doing ultimate's. expects to be wiped 100+ times.
Working on my second ult rn after pausing TEA prog, they're so unique/cool and for the most part these are JUST glam haha its just a flex for the sake of it to show you love raiding its really rewarding!!!
I don't get people that believe so hard in exclusivity of armor appearance or mounts saying it has prestige, but then don't get more mad about people buying a carry. Where's the prestige when there's a whole economy around buying the prestige?
2 years to level to max level lol. I recently got into the game, 7 days played time for me to hit max level in my main job. It does take awhile. But to be fair I spent a little time on a secondary job, not a ton tho.
@JustRuss I don’t know if it’s been mentioned to you before but something with ffxiv is if there comes a time you think your not having fun… just take a break. Yoshi P has said before something along the lines of “don’t force yourself to stay, if you need a break take one, we(ffxiv) will be here when your ready to come back”
And it honestly shows, yes there are some stuff that’s daily or weekly, but that’s side content or simply “you did the newest raids and got rewards, wait until Tuesday reset to claim more” deals, they don’t take away from story and honestly unless your gunning for the absolute best gear you can get with each new patch (which comes from raids and extremes) you don’t even need to stress about it. I stopped playing for three months only getting on for my house timer reset, recently decided to start playing more actively again and I don’t feel like I’ve missed anything, I just need to work my way up to date on MSQ and even that I’m just taking at my own pace without stressing.
The general difficulty of the ultimates is (easiest)UWU>TEA>UCOB>TOP>DSR(hardest). Some would say TOP is harder than DSR but that was mostly for blind raiders who didnt have acceess to sim/guide/am. TEA had a similar fate and was broken by a sim
You should see the glowing Trial Boss Weapons that you can obtain and craft. They have great glow effects, too!
you should definitely check out a Limit Break 3 showcase as well
wow will never have a dyeing system because if they added it, theyd have to make more weapon and armor, they couldnt just make a Sword for questing and recolor three dozen times and call it a day. some people say XIV does the same but not nearly to the extend that WoW does it.
about the sheathed looks, there are ways to get around having it sheathed and still have the effects going full blast. all it takes a short two step macro. its a temporary thing but if you are running around with a sheathed weapon for long periods of time like running around a city, you can still show off the glow.
Yeah, the Ultimate weapons are cool, but the only weapons a monk need is The Emperor's New Fists.
Join us.
So the max level is 90, there are 5 ultimates, 2 at level 70, 1 at 80, and 2 at 90. If you are 90 and go back to an older ultimate, your level will be scaled down and it will still take a lot to learn the mechanics and get over the mechanical difficulty, but with the way jobs have been rebalanced and reworked over the years, the DPS checks for ultimates before 90 aren't nearly as bad as they used to be. But yes the mechanical difficulty is still there.
(I haven't finished the video yet) As chat (probably) stated : Jobs that were released after specific ultimates came out have not received a weapon for those ultimate. For example, Gunbreaker came out in Shadowbringers, so it doesn't have UWU/UCOB weapons since they came out in the expansion prior. SE said they might look into making weapons from older ultimates for newer jobs, but nothing concrete yet.
Ultimate fights looks crazy to me. I will heal a savage- but I do not think i could keep people alive for as ling as an ultimate goes on for
