  1. I think there are like two spots in the ARR MSQ where you MIGHT need extra EXP. But by then, you’ve unlocked leveling roulette (which gives a daily EXP bonus) so it’s just a matter of one or two roulettes, maybe a hunting log.

  2. Some people dislike syncing down to lower levels for roulettes but it's incredible how they keep all content relevant and allow new players to always find someone to help out.

And yeah, not sure where you might've heard job quests are inconsequential but they are basically essential, sometimes even more so than MSQ. You learn new abilities and unlock your job upgrade early on, and in later xpacs you need to do role quests to progress the MSQ. The primary quests to avoid are just the default sidequests that are not blue quests and don't unlock anything.

  3. Here's a BIG piece of advice; DONT BUY GEAR FOR YOUR MAIN JOB. You get so much gear thrown at you throughout the MSQ you don't really need to buy any except for maybe stuff like rings and necklaces. You only really should buy gear for alt jobs but even then there's better way to get gear, like CRAFTING!

I wasted so much Gil buying gear that got replaced 2-3 levels later by a reward item.
