World of Warcraft vs. Final Fantasy XIV | A hard but honest video -ItsBananaBlitz

I love WoW, used to love WoW. I dont know what would fix it, and I dont know what was the thing that made it unfun, but I do know that there is little point of staying on a ship that I no longer enjoy being on. So I gave Final Fantasy XIV a real try.

  1. not a bad review but it's clear you haven't done FF14's end game raids. As someone who's been a mythic raider in wow and seen savage and ultimate fights in FF14, FF14 does raiding better then wow. Another reason the community in FF14 is better is HOW raiding is designed with class design. In wow most raid bosses can be cheesed by ignoring mechanics and just DPSin the boss. In FF14 you can't. Getting angry at someone for messing up a mechanic won't help you clear the boss it's more likely to make things worse. On top of that it's a Japanese game, meaning they expect you to have someone japanese manners. In FF14 if you call someone a noob, that they suck and should uninstall that can get you perma banned. A good video to watch would be Preaches new video of the Shadowbringer catch up area, it shows how systems in an MMO aren't always a bad thing. Other then that it was a good review, I understand it can be hard to walk away from a game that you love. I've played wow on and off for 16 years and FF14 for 7. I want wow to be good again but it will take a lot of work if the devs ever want to see the game return to form.

  2. Welcome to ffxiv. There's a lot to take in as a whole but over time you'll find yourself more familiar. From what it sounds like you'll probably enjoy it more as you play more so I hope you keep at it!

  3. Awesome video 🙂

As a long time veteran of FFXIV since 2.0 with partial 1.0, I always enjoy videos like this transitioning from one home to another while not completely abandoning either or.

There much MUCH more stuff you might have been told about FFXIV that can be some highlights to another updated videos of your progress. 🙂

And I know it's late to say this, but Welcome To FFXIV 😀

  4. Nice&honest review.
    If I may suggest:
    – you can turn down effects in char. customization
    – from footage I see you are in 4.0 which is generally considered worst patch after ARR, so 4.x is gameplay & narratively much improved with enourmous amount of content(Eureka,4lords,raid tiers, more dungeons, solo instances become way way less clunky like the one you have fone with Zenos,..)
-raid in StB&ShB&EW are superior to previous exp. due to their age and ps3 limitations+ 2 ultimates!

Hf and take your time with the pace you comfortable with
Cya on top of Kugane tower xD

  5. Whenever a friend of mine starts FFXIV the first thing I walk them through is lowering other people's spell effects. I have my own at full, party on limited which allows you to see beneficial aoes, and everyone else's effects off.

  6. Welcome and good luck on continuing to explore the game. I hope you have lots of fun and meet lots of cool people to raid with. Would love to hear your thoughts on the more difficult tier raids when you get there. Gearing up for those is actually pretty comfy in comparison so really just grab a bunch of friends and try it when you get there.

  7. Started in BFA and "put so much time into WoW". 😆 I started WoW in Burning Crusade. I was very unhappy with BFA. And Shadowlands was so bad I quit playing after 3 months (even though I had purchased a 6-month sub). Been playing Final Fantasy XIV since early 2019 and enjoying it still. 👍 WoW would have to do something spectacular for me to consider going back. While I'm not a big fan of a mega corporation buying up other giant corporations, Microsoft might be able to whip Blizzard back into shape. 🤷‍♂️

  8. 'factions' in ff14… "I'll choose the yellow one." 🤣 Yellow faction forever! Blue and Red suck! 😉. Yeah not really important especially now that the PVP front lines zone don't break you up by what Grand Company you chose like they used to. For a limited time event I had to switch to Maelstrom because that was where all the good players were and I needed wins!

  9. I think WoW is more toxic because there's so much to grind and in a way even cooperative events are competitive. For example…You ruin someone's Mythic+ run you have just given them a somewhat serious setback. And joining a group will be based on your gear score or some Achievement you've achieved. You fail either of those tests no one's going to give you the time of day. Hell, just being a specific class/spec combo will make you a pariah.

  10. A little tip when playing XIV. Usually in trials and…well pretty much any instances content, you might wanna zoom your camera out instead of keeping it situated behind your character. This helps you to see when mechanics are happening on the whole stage
