  1. When was the last time did he made a new friend in any game? Zack's real life 'friends' make him buy them new gaming PCs for them to be willing to play with him …

  2. I used to watch him while he was on wow and began playing ff14 because of him and Preach. Nowadays my friends I made in game who never played wow or even knew Asmon watch him more than I do and love his content.

Keep up the good work, greetings from south of Bodensee 🤙

  4. "Save" nothing. He still has a long ways to go in MSQ. If I remember right he just started Stormblood and has one or two Savage clears.

Asmon wants to impress the viewers? Clear Ultimates with his Family (Dominic, Sea Lion, Swedish Fish, etc) and not with big name Twitch streamers like Rich Campbell did. I do give Rich credit for putting the time, effort and knowing his rotation because in my opinion he wasn't carried…

  5. Save FFXIV? FFXIV its the definition that a game doesn’t depend on big streamers for it to succeed. You have more people doing older content now but you truly fail to see who the game is designed for lol. And it will only continue to grow becuase of who Yoshi aims to cater for.

  6. A load of us retail and classic players have come over to FFXIV over the last year or so in the EU and it had nothing to do with Asmond and Ritch grifter Crummble 😂

  7. Wow Desper.
I seriously did not know how many gatekeepers are in your community until I saw this comment section and its strange since you've always been so welcoming of other players and playstyles.

Gatekeeping seems like a great topic for your next discussion video.

  8. IMO if he comes back he really needs to ignore what people tell him to do this time… like reading every single dialogue from arr >hw was i guess ok for content, but i dont' think he'll ever be able to experience the game or appreciate it like the majority of players do if he continues to go about it that way. IMHO he should actually plow through SB and at least get to SHB fast if he comes back… otherwise he'll just be doin old content and msq for friggin ever and personally id actually like to see him play at end game more and actually have be able to have an informed opinion on the game.

  9. For those that actually seriously believe this, you need to break free of the cult. People need to stop treating that guy like he's Jesus Christ, and that everything that comes out of his mouth is sage wisdom.

Asmon is a showman. A fraud, if you want to look at it more negatively. He doesn't really care about ff14. Not really. He's not invested. He's not a dedicated player. He's going to come back when 1. He feels it's best for his channel and 2. There's nothing else for him to play. And when he does, the minute something else comes out for him to play, he will drop ff14 like a lump of infected crap. He's been leading on his viewers for months. Especially those on YouTube only who are less familiar with him. They are going to be very disappointed when he does return and they realize his reactions are not genuine, because he already knows almost all of the major story and plot points of both Shadowbringers and Endwalker. If they had made any effort whatsoever to keep up with him, they would know he's been wanting spoiler content for months.

Seriously guys. If you want to watch someone let's play if it 14, there's dozens of legitimate content creators that genuinely are invested in the game.

  10. It was just a perfect storm. Blizzard was losing players, they wanted the next big thing to supplant what they lost with WoW, and FF14 gave them that. Streamers had influence, especially Asmongold. There was a whole game to explore and level up in, a story mode to see, a new expansion and a fresh start to jump into; FF14 had a lot going for it at the time

This doesn't reflect on the quality of FF14, it's a great game (and my avatar currently is of the character I'd made during the exodus), but once you get through everything, and if you don't top-end raid, craft or socialize, there's not much to do. And it's by design, so it's fine. But it might be why so many have fallen off; because they got bored, felt like there wasn't much to do past the MSQ, which was also being explored by popular streamers on Twitch, so a shared experience

I don't think Asmongold's going to do more than get through MSQ and some Savage fights, and it will be fun to watch. But it won't have the same draw that was there during the "Exodus" at the latter half of ShB into the beginning of EW. That said, FF14's still doing great, I wouldn't sweat it if he doesn't turn heads the second time around. I'm also positive that it's why Asmongold's stagnating with coming back; he knows that there isn't that pull that the first time had, so he can do it at any time for the same results since there's nothing to really bolster his views save his own popularity, and that's smart

TL:DR Asmon'll come back, it'll make a bump in spergfest subscriptions to follow him around til he fades out again, and it'll be entertaining and fun. All good!

  11. while I agree that asmon features more games other than wow, but you are on copuim if you think he isn't a wow andy. dood literally simps for the company that after many many fuck ups. still goes on his hands and knees and begs for the game to be good. If he wasn't a wow andy he would see what the game is. A time wasting, loot lotto, pay to win, dying game from a company that will forever be mark of "what not to do" in gaming.

  12. Does FF14 Need saving? A 35% increase in profit in quarter one lead by ff14. This must be just click bait. While Asmon does bring a short term boost in players, most of his fans will leave when he leaves. Just one man's opinion but I have seen it before. Truth is I like Asmon's content.

  13. Saved is a click bait term. It was a 2-way street, I didn’t even know who Asmonfold was before he played FF14, his videos started popping up on my feed when he started playing.

  14. I don't hate Asmongold, I just think he's a fair weather fan. He goes where the views are. He tricky trotted straight back to toxic WoW as soon as he needed to amp up his algorithm. With any luck, there won't be a huge influx of WoW players this time. I think we can ALL agree, that part sucked ass. The community is 100% better now that he and his tribe are back playing WoW.

  15. I'll admit, he got me back in during the break post-ShB, and he's fun to watch, also some good takes.
But I ended up unfollowing his twitch when it felt more like he's leading on the FF watchers for more channel growth. Plus his chat can be aids.
If he does jump back when not playing the hottest new game, alrite, let's go

  16. I would say Asmond use ffxiv to earn more money and brings benefits to both. He didn't save anything, and ffxiv doesn't need to be saved. Like a car dealership, they help car branches sell cars and make them more accessible to people. That's it, nothing more.

  17. that a fucking title for sure, the game is dying and need a savior…again, fuck my life man, in more serious note i've been watching him semi-regularly since his 1st ff stream and i never watch his ff stream anymore after a few stream, just staying for his "intro" and turn it off when the gameplay start, it's not that interesting for me, dude was too serious when in game sometimes, very contuary to his 6hrs intro and i the ff andy and ff hater in the chat was spoiling every resemblance of fun out of the fking things, tldr: just watch preach or arthars or xeno or jesse cox if you want a entertaining ff14 stream.

  18. It's unlikely to see Asmongold return, he mentioned many times how he was going to play FFXIV again but never did after his first few weeks of playing it. If he is going to play an MMO it's most likely that he will spend time on WoW or Lost Ark which he seemed to had far more interest in than FFXIV. Further, I do not feel like investing in someone who is not dedicated to the main game I'm playing as I plan to actually enjoy the game and not treat it as a flavor of the month game.

  19. Again? Did it ever happen?

He certainly got a hype train going for a bit which temporarily increased numbers, but… FFXIV needing saving or will he "save" Final Fantasy again?

I think this video is nothing but the inevitable prelude of the following video in Asmongold's channel: "Asmongold reacts to Desperius: Will Asmongold save FFXIV again".

    Desperius = 10k new subscribers

    Nice 😏

  20. No, Classic WoW started declining because Blizzard fucked it up by adding level boosting and the ability to buy a mount. Even now I enjoy hoping on Classic WoW because it offers me an experience I can't get in modern MMOs.

  21. Correct me if I'm wrong but when you say "save the game" I believe you're talking about the current war between the players who do the optional hard content and the players who don't right? Since Asmon is an ex hardcore raider that can appeal to both audiences.
