  1. Completely agree, I switched to GBN during my groups prog through p3s and it was indeed a hell of a lot of fun, however the triple weaving galore followed me around for quite a while and moving the boss or the damn adds through continuation was pain in the ass. Been annoyed by bloodfeast since SHB too….

  2. One other thing great about gnb is for duty roulettes, it is a solid tank at all levels.
At 50 it’s the best tank it’s early job kit has NO fat whatsoever, and you get aurora and camo before 50.
It’s true invul also is able to be taken full advantage of early in the duty queues.
Warrior overtakes this position at 60, but gnb is a solid main tank from earliest game and only gets better

  3. On continuation and triple weaving for TBs I have to disagree.
Very rarely do I double weave anything, there are only small theoretical advantages for actuarial optimizers.
Even for TBs, I’ve never had a problem using a 30%/20% in next weave, followed by hoc in the following weave. TBs give plenty of time to do this, Uber never had to double weave them

  4. i main WAR on one of my characters and GNB on the other and the main thing i miss when go back to WAR is heart of corundum. that ability is *cracked*. nascent/bloodwhetting rules too …but you need uptime get full value out of it, making it a bit more restricted and situational. plus HoC just feels sick. great vfx/sfx.

great vid! I'd love to hear your thoughts on other jobs

  5. What i do in those cases is pop my sprint while moving the boss while doing continuation. I also add rough divides in between to make sure i am at melee range so i can keep up with my continuation combo. It's in ny opinion one of the best ways to do it

  6. I think WAR just outshined GNB in the beginning of EW because how broken Bloodwhetting is. It also pretty much gave it Bloodbath back which triggered some nostalgia so GNB had no real chance at release. I mained GNB in ShB for the short time I played during that expansion and playing WAR in EW just reminded of all the flaws GNB has when actually tanking. But after playing it a bit more in EW I got reminded of all the positive and fun things GNB brings with it and why I used to main it in ShB. So I'm totally on your side with going from not liking GNB to actually enjoying it and all your wishes for the job or really good ideas on how to make it even more enjoyable and remove its flaws.

  7. I really love that you reflected and was honest about giving it a fair chance then love it now. I'm in the same place with WAR although I do really like it and it's awesome defensively. I started progging on GNB as this is my first tier and swapped to DRK (have been loving it since) so since I play a fair amount of both I'll add to the discussion for fun.

    1) Spot on in terms of your continaution thoughts, I think it's possible too since the same thing happened to SAM
    2) I never heard or thought of bloodfest being a 2 charge 60 sec ability. I'm really curious how much that changes the job
    3) I respectfully disagree with the 25 sec no mercy, it'll help the 3 minute window which is the biggest burst but it would add some jankyness to your other windows

As much as I love it because it looks and sounds cool Hypervelocity is potentially my biggest issue with current GNB because adding continaution to Burst Strike impacted more than I thought. Thought to be fair I'm still new to the game overall and raiding, it just felt like Burst Strike was such a good movement tool in ShB. Really looking forward to seeing more of your thoughts. I love having healthy discussions for jobs/roles that people are passionate about

  8. Gnb it's one of my favorites jobs, when I started I didn't liked continuation but now I think more and more jobs gonna have some sort of continuation to solve a future problem with the numbers of skills in 7.0

  9. I’m currently leveling WAR after being a DRK main. I tried to play GNB when I hit 60 and it scared me off because of the massive amount of kit you get when unlocking the job. After playing for two years now and having leveled a bunch of jobs, this video has made me decide to level GNB after I hit 90 with WAR. The video really spoke to me about the gripes I have with WAR. Thanks for the upload!

  10. I really, really, really think most people that dabble with GNB at 90 content DO NOT know how to use their mitigations AT ALL. Even healing Expert Roulette with white mage or astro I groan out loud when I join in and see a GNB. It’s like Whelp, there goes me being able to dps like at all. They aren’t selected in my groups for main tank for other content so that’s good. I have no idea how to fix them I just wish they would. To anyone that says healing them is fine in dungeon content, be honest and answer, would you rather have a GNB you have to put a little monkey leash on and babysit, or a WAR/PLD and give a heal occasionally but otherwise DPS as much as the rest of the party?

  11. First I started with archer then found out it led into bard which sounded not cool and so boring and I switched to ninja. A few months later I was looking to try something different and I looked into bard and what it can do it’s an interesting character that I ended up leveling up and enjoying.
