  1. I have the most supportive boyfriend in the world. I am really honored and happy to have someone so supportive in my life. He's going to speak on his experiences going through the WoW to FFXIV process as I take a small break. Sending love to all of you <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 🍕🍕

  2. You hit the nail on the head. More and more people are realizing that the illusion of choice is, in fact, not a choice.

Also, the community has been trash for a long time unless you managed to find a half-decent guild. It's either a massive circle jerk or a bunch of incels having a dick measuring contest.

WoW became a game that people hate so much that when they do it, they will find the quickest and least amount of effort way to do something. So they don't actually have to play the game.

  3. Iam a strictly console player I've always been curious about WoW , and then ff14 I've been. Sketched out over a monthly sub for a game, no good releases in last few years (Console) so here I am I finaly gave in and playing, and 1000% lost and confused haha

  4. Ive played both and I don’t even dislike or hate WoW, but I genuinely can’t think of a single reason why anyone would play it over FF14 other than nostalgia or an unwillingness to change. In my opinion, literally everything about 14 is better. If you’re a WoW player watching this cause you’re thinking about making the move, do yourself a favor and at least try the free trial.

  5. FF14 is great by all means, the only thing that I struggle with is you can't progress much without following the Story. The classes, characters, dungeons, I mean everything is really good on FF14.

  6. Far too many videos like this popping up. I don’t want to be mean but we actually in the main don’t want world of Warcraft players in the community.

Sure it’s all nice when you’re new and enjoying it but before long you’re all in novice network as mentor of mentors, crying about new people making mistakes, and why you can’t make racist jokes without getting banned or whatever.

FF14 doesn’t need these people. You ruined your game by crying about everything and threatening your developers over a video game. We don’t want that here.

  7. I really feel like that the toxicity comes, in part, from acutal easy to download meters. Damage meters, performance numbers, iO. WoW over many years has figured out how to put just another number to an individual player.
Which is good for certain reasons but it's come to a point where people will be toxic to you for one pull mistake, one time you're not performing optimally or at a glance by highlighting you

In FF there is like a few options for meters however they aren't encouraged to be used and in the case of using then you don't really say you are too often.
I feel like the anonymity of it all in FF allows players to
    1. At a glance not be able to tell if a player is good or bad therfore you're not automatically a number
    And
    2. At the very start of any interaction with another player one is treated like just another person playing.

For some reason I get more of an old school internet vibe in FF. People are just happy to be playing with people. The community seems to be high on itself.
It's pretty neat so far. 74 blk mg

  8. WoW is way more balanced within classes and specs then people give it credit for, and the only people that the 1-5% difference in dps impacts is mythic raiders, I played Sub Rogue the entirety of BFA and was never at the bottom of the DPS, always top 3 or 4, did up to mythic raiding and some m+ at higher keys, but not too high because for me it's just a waste of time, never felt like I lacked damage or utility, never got declined for being a sub rogue, or a rogue for that matter, the difference of 1-5% from one classe to another can be compensated by the garbage meta guy that cries in chat that you are doing low damage while he's dead, by just him staying alive 10 sec more. That said, yes, blizz is fucking the game, too shitty for the prices they are demanding, but for me, so is ff14, too expensive

  9. Welcome to FF XIV! I too was a WoW refugee, I left when the kung fu panda's made their appearance. I have never looked back, the game has a compelling story, the community are way nicer and even pug groups will be patient with newbies or people that don't understand. I would never dare to try tanking in WoW due to the immediate toxicity you'd get if you even stumbled once but on FF XIV i've had groups of players i'd never met before coach me through tanking dungeons and mechanics. I welcome all WoW refugees to the game, I only ask that they leave any toxicity they picked up in WoW at the door when they install.

  10. I’ve never understood the mentality a lot of WoW players have/had about not playing any other MMO but WoW… you aren’t locked into playing one game. I understand that it feels that way with subscription model but you can always play WoW and still try out the FFXIV free trial which is two whole expansions these days. Likely going to increase to Stormblood with Endwalker coming out too. In any case:

I absolutely loved WoW. For years and years. A lot of good memories are with that game and the people I was playing with over that time frame. Wouldn’t change things for the world. But I found that once FFXIV came out and I tried it (big FF fan boy also) that it just put into perspective and just highlighted the glaring issues in the game, and pronounced them so they are much more in your face when flitting between games. I think over the years, the two very different dev teams of WoW and XIV have just been going about things in total opposite directions. FF definitely has problems. I’m not gonna sit here and say it doesn’t need some updating or changing in certain regards. It definitely has its issues. But the issues between the games just feel like they are coming from totally different areas and for different reasons. Blizzard and activision seem to genuinely not like their player base. This is a massive issue as it’s the players that should be guiding the game into better ness. Is that not the point of PTR?? Yet nothing gets changed. Blitz just take the ideas people have and make them some fucked up time gate that means you can’t progress outside of what you are ‘allowed’. Then some months later, the changes people wanted st the get go get implemented, but it’s always too little and too late. Ff on the other hand will take on ideas and feedback and you see the changes in very short amounts of time. The team for XIV also seems to explain what is going on in the company and what is coming up etc a lot more transparently than blizz. There is also formulae involved with XIV, a ne that has pretty much stated the same bar a few months delay cus of covid which was expected anyway. But the delays blizz seems to be having is astronomical for a gaming company that is so vast. Now I have my own theory that the game is preparing for something big in 9.2 or after 9.1 at least. Basically, we re going to go back to Azeroth and it’s going to be different as the jailer has escaped. So this might be taking up all their time and resources right now but they can’t just say what the big surprised is going to be. Or it genuinely is going to be a disappointment. Typing on phone during a work break. Ignore errors lol

  11. I have been playing WoW for years and have seen people say they have left to move to FF14. I have downloaded the trial for FF14 but not yet played it. Is it worth switching?

  12. No game has perfectly balanced classes…when you try to endlessly balance classes you end up nerfing them into the ground and classes get stale. Classes do things better than others and that's the way its supposed to be..even in real life people are better in certain areas. There will never be a perfectly balanced game.

  13. Blizzard taught its player base to be impatient, that the journey doesn't matter. That's why I feel WoWs community became toxic over time. As more "QoL" was introduced, toxicity rose.

  14. The WoW "we have lots of different specs" thing is funny because, since you can level all classes on one character, each ff14 class is a different spec for your character. In Wow you get 3 specs per character. In 14 you get 18 specs lmao (soon to be 20 specs)

  15. I'm a FFXIV player who recently started WoW after my friends convinced me, got to endgame and…honestly it started feeling like a chore

I can't say for sure what it is that was different, but then I tried WoW Classic and enjoyed it way, way more

They clearly made some wrong decisions over the years that led the game to where it is now

  16. I play FF14 because your the hero not some scrub =) and honestly FF14 imo is also far less toxic and more game modes? I personally prefer the saucer over the faire – love squadrons and being able to race chocobos and laugh as my friend makes funny noises falling from jumping games aside you can level all classes on one char. its just less stress as well imo

  17. "less friendly"? you mean toxic AF, you can't even join a group without being judged on how gear you are. WoW is all about end content fast fast fast. I mean miss a week of grindy endless chores in game and you fall behind. PVE? good luck finding a group that wants to play with you if you are "under geared". The problem with WoW is the massive lack of content and no, repetitive chores with little reward once a week is not content, just an illusion of content in a dying, decaying game.

  18. Yeah its all sounds cool, but the pvp system in ff14 is a complete disaster, not even mentioning q times… then comes pve killing mobs over and over again and grinding gear to become 1-2% stronger and to have next patch crafted gear outstand your "savage raider" gear is fun but…nah

  19. I too was a wow fan for 13 years and left a few months ago and I'm enjoying FF14. I never grumbled when a new expac launched but shadowlands… O. M. G. You most likely didn't enjoy it because they nerfed the rewards to the nines (that's what tossed me over the edge) and yes it is a arrogant, toxic environment. I laugh at some of the people who define their self worth by a game called wow, lol. I guess it's because they have very little in their real lives so they get puffed up in false pride because they're good at a "game"? Be good at a game and be a good human being and you'll get my attention, anything short of that, and I'll simply say to myself, "oh you poor widdo stupi".

  20. I know this is an older video, but that last point about WoW's unfriendly community is definitely something I feel. It used to be so welcoming. I've literally met some lifelong friends when I started the game. Last time I played though I was running a Shadowlands dungeon along with a friend, and my friend told me the group tried to kick me for no known reason. I was also top dps. After that I was just like, "yeah I'm going back to FFXIV where it's safe" lol! I'm glad you joined FFXIV and enjoy it! Cheers to greener pastures! 😀
