  1. Funny, for me it was so far the worst of the 3 Raid Patches. After i Saw most of the Gear, my Motivation was close to zero to play the Raid or Farm Stones. Especially the Raid Armor and Weapons are just a flatout disapointment to me. The only saving grace where the new Tomestone Weapons so far. The Glowing Hellhound Weapons dont appeal to me at all since i prefer non glowing weapons.

  2. I don't know how to feel about crystalline conflict. I do not like the risers system. You can spend hours going back and forth within the same tier because of multiple factors. I got to Gold 1 and fell down to Gold 4 while my performance remained the same (compared screenshots of dmg dealt, kills and time on crystal. Sometimes the team is so bad you can't even do anything because they just rush in 1 by 1 and die, you can be the best player that deserves 1st place in the ranking, and you will be unable to affect anything in a meaningful way (=hopeless).
Some people will tell the statistics of "well akshually you only need 40% win rate to progress". Yeah I'd like to see you progress if you win-lose-lose-win-lose-win-lose-win-lose-lose. Sure it is possible with losing 6 times first and then winning. But most of the time its not how it works.
Anyway I dont feel like doing it any longer after series 25, I dont care about the glam anymore, its just not fun.

  3. Not sure what longevity or ground breaking things this patch brings? A bit of MSQ, some new instances and new gear. Just as it have been. IMHO nothing groundbreaking. And the looks are problematic as well. If you zoom in, do a gpose it can look nice and whatnot, but in combat only some weapons and armor stand out – wherever it;s due to game engine or other – those that have high contrast and glow a lot, so mostly ARR and HW relic weapons as well as ultimate weapons.

And the game formula seems quite a bit solved. We know what gear group will be released at which sub-patch and so on. As someone who isn't playing 24/7 or every patch it looks like it's just best to come back prior to X.0, do the leftover MSQ, get the DoH/DoL token gear if you have those jobs, craft/buy/dungeon DoW/DoM gear and wait for X.0. After doing X.0 quit until X.4/5 or later so you can buy the last crafted or token gear and quickly catch up with MSQ and prep for next expansion. If you are into raid then sure, patches hold more value, but I got somewhat burned out and see this game only as story and self imposed goals and challenges.

  4. The pvp is still a broken mess. server ticks, lack of diminishing returns on crowd control, the joke that is job balance, etc. I just don't see this current dev team fixing the issues.

  5. Maybe I'm old, but I've never been able to adjust to the healer chances since Heavenswards end. Tried changing roles, played them all but I've never vibed with any job since.
PVP last patch was the most fun I've had in a long time with the game (story aside).

I guess as the jobs become more homogenised I feel like the game I originally fell in love with is further and further gone.

  6. I'm not much of a PvP player, I do my daily frontline and I grinded out the series rewards. Frankly, I'm older, don't do savage content either, just don't react fast enough like I used to. I think it'd be nice for them to add an additional means for the weapons that takes much longer, say 1 token for reaching 30 on series rank. That way old farts like me can eventually grind it out, even if it takes a couple patches, while the good players can run around showing off their gear much sooner, much like PvE tiers (which I'm usually behind until it's a pretty simple affair).
I also worry a little about toxicity. One of the greatest boons to FFXIV is it's player base, which in a non-PvP oriented enviroment never had that grr grr grr edge that other mmos sometime develop. Wipe with a sprout while doing dungeon/trial roulettes? No big deal, we'll teach the sprout how to do the mechanics. I know I've been in a trial with three new players and had no issues telling them what to expect. Lose a ranked match and fall a riser because you're teamed up with a couple sprouts, oof, people will be much less patient with that.

  7. If they stop buffing the shit out of tanks unecessarily by taking away all but a few healing capabilities seriously, warrior doesnt need 5+ of them and buff other casters as well as STOP GIVING CASTERS BATHROBES ALL THE TIME! I'd be happier. The problem is that im not allowed to wear striking/maiming sets on my casters at all like sage and instead have to look at other routes for less than ideal outfits that i dont like… all because we cant have the cool stuff too..

  8. I really like this patch. The only gear I don't like is the healer/caster raid gear(the weapons look fantastic though) with the ugly scarf that doesn't match any dye but blue while the others got those crystals that look amazing. I love that the flashiness for most of the new gear is just enough to stick out without being over the top. The glow effects look very subtle and clean.

  9. Man… I wish the hellhound upgrade material works like how wolf collars are handed out in feast. You always get some, But You have to be high enough rank to get enough for one weapon from one season

  10. Honestly the weapons are sweet but one of the big reasons im rarely on XIV now days is because outside of pvp/pvm there not much to do
most of the gather/crafting skills are not needed and don't have much value, (ex most gear is out-stat by dutys/bosses, unique outfits/barding/minion are aint worth the time making apart from making the brand new items to sell for money that doesn't have much use)

i would love them to make more untradeable items that can only be gotten by crafts, (and place-able in the armoire)
make me go out and make my own relic tools by gathering the special mats or special fates which you have to use woodcutting to cut roots/vine of a corrupted ent instead of just using tokens to get the mats
same with relic weapons, let me go gather 50 ores to make into a bar, bless it, get a rare drop, and then make myself instead of pvm fates until ive done enough just to pass to a npc
minigames that are more skilling then killing

hell more pvp that has skilling in it (ex entering a arena with no equipment and you have to make the weapons/armour yourself)
battleships where you have to repair the ship/attack the other team

the most fun ive had is when Diadem came out for the firmament and Bozjan Southern, and that was mainly due to players actively doing stuff/talking,

  11. Tbh I think 6.4 in my opinion is quite lackluster. Basic pvp rewards nowadays is just recolor outfits nothing new except for the 2 outfits they added to the series pass but once you have it, but that’s about it and it’s really unfortunate. Also I feel that the raid gear looks awful and not to mention the savage mount is extremely disappointing compared to the mounts that have come out in the 2 previous raid tiers. /;

  12. After reading the comment why do lots of people like Deep Dungeon so much?
I saw more savage/ultimate pf compare to any deep dungeon not just Eureka Orthos
Make me wonder how many of people actually play Deep Dungeon in pass 15 days
Not for leveling just for challenge, fun or to get a mount or title.

  13. Can't really bother with pvp much because I always get trash noobs for teammates so I just end up base idling until the next game but get bored of the whole routine. Can't imagine dragging myself to rank up that part.

  14. I mean.. if the foundation for the game's future is pretty weapons but no content to bring them to, i'm not sure it's going to be such an amazing time going forward.

Came back to play 6.4, it didn't last more than a few hours before I didn't have any reason to login again (and the quality of the latest MSQ episode was.. varying, to say the least)

  15. I feel bad for anyone who is in for the story coz the writing is getting downhill since 6.2. 6.4 is just horrible. I skipped 50% of the cutscenes and ended up having the same thing all over again like 6.3

  16. im sorry but if the big win for a game is the promise of future pretty weapons through pvp, a system most players don't even interact with, then this shit is doomed LMAO

  17. Im sorry but what did this patch add that is special? We literally got the bare minimum patch give all the time
Sure the quality rises but hight quality gear does not change the fact that u can get only 450 tomes per week
or high quality dungeon is still only one dungeon per patch
The game is in terrible state in terms of content in my opinion, square knows how to create enjoyable stuff but has no idea how to implement it into end game basis like variant/criterion dungeons
