What Made Me Quit Final Fantasy 14… Twice?! | LazyBeast

Hey guys, here’s my thoughts on the start of the Final Fantasy XIV experience, from the perspective of a long time WoW player, and why I believe that the reasons why I quit, weren’t entirely FF14’s fault!

Cheers for watching, have a great day!

  1. I've quit about 4 times. Once was just the people I played with left and so I did. Then again I couldnt get into the classes. One time after they changed summoner. Then again when I got tired of the grind between AA and HS xpan. They apparently changed that recently though, but damn. Was like 150 horrible quests between the two back then. I keep thinking about going back again, but last I knew they had crazy queue times going due to popularity and xpan release… And I have no desire for that.

  2. Was playing wow and ff11 for 10 years, then i switched from 11 to ff14 when it was reborn as the original 14 was horrible. I do enjoy lots of aspects of 14, especially the houses and crafting, but i much prefer wow overall where i am an obsessive mount collector.

  4. As the old adage goes you either crash and burn in ARR or become a walking advertisement for FFXIV. Getting out of ARR smashed me into cinders the first couple of times I tried playing but bro. When I finally came back for that last college try, and I got to Heavensward and started getting the rest of my jobs kit and, by proxy, had a hell of a lot more buttons to press at any given moment despite the 2.5s GCD? I don't know how I let myself stop before. This game's amazing.

  5. I remember scratching around back in 2013 / 2014 looking for a new MMO to play after Rift went to shit, I felt I was too late to WoW and so went to FFXIV. It took me about 3 tries to get into it as there were things that I did not like with the very eastern styling, but I think if you can see past some of that, mechanically speaking it is the best MMO on the market. I've always loved running dungeons and the fact that the hard mode dungeons in FFXIV take you through completely different routes and different bosses … that just blew my mind at the time
