Unreal engine 4 when?
They always dip their toes into the horror aspect but shy away almost immediately. Let's go deeper and feel that body horror
It needs better exploration in the world. Playing GW2 again has shown how lacking FFXIV truly is in this aspect. I also wish it had more strategic combat, but I realize there's no way they're going to move away from the WoW rotation spam gameplay. It's the reason why WoW never clicked with me gameplay wise, and the reason why I immediately quit FFXIV once the writing took a hard hit. The story and characters were why I was able to stomach it for as long as I did. Warcraft's story was never really in the game, so I was able to just read the books, comics, and watch Nobbel videos to get what I wanted out of WoW. XD
Eureka was cancer. Bozja was just slightly less cancer, but still cancer. The moment you say "I actually like Bozja", you lost all credibility. I'm sorry.
Not gonna say good story because i already gave up on that.
Things that would excite me:
Event collab with WOW
Event collab with, other game/whathever.
Blitzball.
Hats on Viera..
Show me the new límited job.
And a lot of other things that I wont brother to mention because I know it's not going to happen.
truckloads of copium man… what happened to you? your takes on FF14 and Yawntrail have become more and more shit, the story is no where near acceptable, the future isnt exciting at all at the moment, Spheene is still a bad written character like the rest and 7.1 wasnt better either. You really think the current team that is in charge of the game / this expansion is suddenly going to produce something good and make a "new" Bozja that is actually good?
I love FFXIV, but to me? DT felt lacking. I feel like, we have played the light vs dark for years, BUT we have grown accustomed to it. Now with this little mixture of everything going on at once in such a short expanse of time, it just feels so rushed. I hope future updates bringa along with it a much more engaging msq. Other than that the dungeons, raids and new alliance are amazing!
In my opinion the things that need to change is that they need to actually figure out who they are making the game for. ARR to Endwalker was seinen, but then Dawntrail was pure Shonen and younger.
Also they need to stop relying on recolors of the same outfits and actually add new stuff. Glamour is my end game but the expansion added the least amount of new outfits, only 6 new sets were added in DT and everything else was just a recolor.
Lastly and most important is to stop treating the WoL as a plot device, that was one of my biggest issues about ARR. If the plot doesn't need the WoL to be around for it to happen then why is the WoL even there and not on a beach or doing literally anything else.
Also it was absolutely infuriating when Wuk Lamat stole the sphene kill.
waifu/husbando romance options !
The way they saved Zenos as a character, then made us the deuteragonist to Zero does give me hope. They can tell good stories while also making us witness to other characters developing
The corpse of the 1.0 that they build 2.0 on top of rotting already. They struggle to give players features that was already in industrty for tens of years, bad netcode is gonna make game stale gameplay wise, they can't make "reactionary" mechanics when everything have delay, thus it will be same scripted dance over and over again, UI is clunky, glamour system is trash, piling up story on top of story for newer players was mistake as well, Hydelyn arc should've ended with soft reset to ARR state.
But all of this doesn't matter, main reason of state of the game is fear of change, 14 is being milked by SE left and right for their failed projects, they are scared that they will do mistake and it will cost them a lot. I still remember that comment of Yoshi P when SE said that they will never give him money for another cinematic for raid, 12 years later, they still haven't.
Look on Blizzard on the other hand, their engine is already used beyond its limits, they implementing stuff that sometimes breaks, looks goofy, balance for some stuff out of place, but its fun, and that's whats matters the most.
what ffxiv needs most is more investment from square enix and fewer excuses from the dev team and the community
I want to see an equipment collection” tab thing added. Any piece of gear that has ever passed through your inventory is added to a “glam list” for usage at any time. Untradeable equipment would grant you a physical copy of the item when selected, but all else would be a “glam selector”. This would tie a lot of current and new activities together toward a unified goal of collecting equipment. Plus, you would no longer need to store any of it anywhere. This might revitalize some old content for a while, too. Like collecting old raid gear. It would also help to make some dyes permanent unlocks, rather than consumables. Most people dye an item and never change it, so limited use items is very silly.
Right now, most content in Ffxiv has no reason to be done except “on release”. I think adding a collection aspect to it beyond an achievement would help a lot toward making more content “evergreen”.
Dawntrail needs its plot re-written to be about a basketball tournament. Gulool Ja knows its time to hang up his jersey but refuse to leave the league to hands of successors who haven't yet proven their ability to slam. Join our young Pledges as they each venture forth to assemble the ultimate team, and challenge each other upon the Golden Court of Alex-slam-dria. Confront Zoraal Ja, who – in his impatience to prove his worth – attempts an imperfect Chaos Dunk, causing untold tragedy in the process. Finally, put an end of the suffering of Sphene, history's most ballin' queen, who has languished for hundreds of years without any rival capable of contesting her skills.
There are surprises. Chaotic raids in this patch for example its new. Now fixed releases is what makes it good and they do have fixed content, but they do add extra spice in them.
We really need new writers and voice director. The scenarios in DT pissed me off, especially the obnoxious trade-up minigame FORCED into the MSQ. They need to write better stories. DT just felt like a gross exageration of "toxic masculinity". It needs better pacing. The abrupt change from the dawnthrone succession and alexandria felt disjointed like the stormblood storyline. I didnt care about alexandria as it didnt have any time to stew and living memory was the dumbest zone.
"We must unplug these people"
"We must know them"
we get to know them
we unplug them
I dont care
We need proper high end 4-man content with meaningful gear progression.
Content is too easy, save for Ultimates. We have CC buttons that barely get used and I think it would be amazing to require using them to deal with patrols or punishing spell casters in pulls.
What i think ffxiv needs is more dungeon content and no i don't mean more story dungeon or trust i mean harder difficult content like Extreme or Savage dungeons and the hole lvl synch system is just dumb i mean fair to synch your stats down to a lvl 50 dungeon is fair but why the F do the same with the lvls kinda defeats the whole point of lvling up and get new skills just to Q for a dungeon and you get satasha

I'd love an overall update to just allow the y axis. Enough of this glitching floating crap.
I'm always a little put off guard at people who didn't like island sanc. Sure it wasn't that complicated and ended up a spreadsheet simulator. But I felt like it was just like a diet runescape to a degree. Mindless brainless content to do while waiting on roulettes and queues.
let blue mage in deep dungeons or make a blue mage deep dungeon.
Every time something new is proposed, Yoshi-P goes "BUT MUH BUDGET"
Game needs something new. Yoshi-P says no to anything new. Dawntrail is just XIV's green mile into Maint Mode.
Island sanctuary was the most exciting thing to look foward to and at same time the biggest disappointment the game gave us
Dynamis from ff11 would be cool
Avoid patch notes and l8ve letters. I do, and I enjoy finding new content more.
I dunno how to put it but somehow the phrase "the devs optimized the fun out of the game" comes to mind in regard's to the content-implementation.
This expac was overhyped. I was underwhelmed by the golden city. What we were promised and what we got were 2 different things. What holds me over is new game plus or doing the msq on my alts as different classes to get different dialog in certain parts of msq, you don't get that here. Also, that first dungeon was a waste of time.
Ahh yes yawntrail. I do hope they can build off it and make more exciting content. I think there is hope for it.
Its hard to expect anything good when DT was disappointing and the constant dumbing down and homogeneous feel of classes.
This game needs to return to its darker, less idealistic tone. You cant save everyone, you cant feed everyone, you cant solve every problem world has.
