  1. I'd love to watch the stream, but because I usually have a stream going in the background while I work, if someone isn't reading the story aloud, it's just a lot of silence.

  2. ARR is the necessary evil for the rest to make sense. I promise it'll make you cry, laugh and jump with joy, just gotta bear with this first bit and your quiet a bit into it already. You are paying attention and getting the major gist of the plot and that is fine. As long as the pace suits you and you're making steady progress nothing else matter. Will pop into the streams from now on. Looking forward to your adventure.

  3. Step 1: Unlock Glamours (transmog) and buy a stack of Glamour Prisms

Step 2: Search the market board for the cool looking Level 1 gear that has no stats

    Step 3: ???

Step 4: Profit! (jk, more like "go into credit card debt")

  4. I love how quickly the whimsy of FFXIV grabs people. In a pretty short amount of time you went from "The bunny suit people really creep me out" to just walking by a weirdo in a mascot outfit with a casual "Oh, hey Honey Chonker!"

  5. Welcome to Eorzea! Absolutely phenomenal voice acting, you MADE that scene! XD Your lancer is super adorable! Can't wait to see your further adventures in the days to come!

PS – if you haven't unlocked glamours yet, talk to Swyrgeim in Vesper Bay. She should have two quests that you can do now, one for unlocking glamours and one for unlocking the dye ability to recolour your gear!

  6. Hello, always good to see fresh blood enter the game. Welcome to Final Fantasy XIV.

First off, do not stress the voice acting too much, as they change upon hitting the first expansion. Not to say these voices are terrible, but you may find the characters more palatable later as a result.

Second, the Lalafel hate. It has a lot to do with how short they are. Their youthful appearance causes them to be referred to as children more often than not, despite them being essentially dwarves. Also, their size can make them hard to see and find in some of the more intense battles, which can be a problem when dealing with mechanics, or in the case of some healers, trying to heal them. Still, some people HAVE made it work, so if enjoy being a Lala, by all means, enjoy yourself.

If you are interested in the Fatter Cat Mount, it is available through the online store, though it will cost you real money to purchase. Mounts can be unlocked at level 30 via a quest. I would tell you where but I don’t know the areas by name, only by map.

Please be sure to read up on what your attacks and abilities do as you acquire them if you aren’t doing so already. It is key to figuring out how to do as much damage as possible and will make your life so much easier going forward. It is as simple as moving your mouse over each ability.

And lastly, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask the community. If they do not have the answer, they will point you to someone who does, or has the tools to help you do it yourself.

Why am I being so helpful? Well, maybe I’m that nice a guy. Or maybe I’m so cripplingly lonely that helping others allows me to convince myself otherwise. Anyway, have fun in Eorzea! 😊

  7. 9:33 — Dont worry about the Grand Company: you can switch anytime and though you start from the bottom, once you leveled up one, its quite easy to level another. And switching back gets you were you left off. In general, pick the company that you find most sympathetic/cool/whatever or the one with the cooles glamour: you cant wear items from another company.

10:42 — You'll nearn navigation with time. Sadly, thats the only way to do it. I only learned it, when I leveled all my crafters and gatherers and had to run and teleport around so much. But yeah… thats the only way: learn to navigate those mazes by navigating them.

11:55 — I picked Gridania, on the merrit that a) I started there as an archer, and b) Kan-E Senna was the only speaker on those celebrations who not only talked about her pretty city but also Eorzea as a whole, the only one seeing the whole picture while the others just focused on their own woes and pride.

12:50 — Say hello to FF14's spontaneous, or not so spontaneous, concerts. Though, in this case its bots ^^° Still fun, though 🙂
