I don't think not having that loot grind that WoW has would work for this game. This is a single player game that leads to raids, trials, etc. And when they are in games they are always the most frustrating part. I think the least amount of ring in this game the better. I don't think there is a need to have a "BIS" system like in WoW. I think this game is more fun that way, while still having the challenging content. If someone does want that, like the guy said, every other mmo does it, you don't only have to play FF14. You can get caught up with content, go to an other mmo and come back when there's more content.
