  1. This scene was a real gut punch for me. Venat and Shadowbringers, and all that hit pretty hard too, but this scene… damn. Moenbryda was instantly, and always, one of my favorite characters even though she was only around briefly. All this time she hadn't been mentioned again, I started to wonder if she was just meant to be a passing NPC, of little importance, and it bothered me like, why would you make someone so memorable and instantly likable if she was just meant to be something to move the plot forward? I remember when I got to EW and Urianger said something about being apprehensive to see her parents again after all these years and I let out an audible "oh, shit". It was the first mention of Moen since ARR if I'm remembering right, and it really caught me by surprise.

  2. Another example of FF XIV's superior storytelling. This entire scene wasn't necessary for the MSQ. It could have been completely cut. But it was such an example of character development. And to be honest, I've been a bit critical that they introduced her back in ARR only to kill her off shortly after, then really never mention her again. This scene carried so much emotion and all-around closure. And again, one reason FF XIV's writing is just on another level.
