I literally watch 20 seconds of some clips and I'm already so annoyed with the entire situation. Community was definitely embarrassed today 😒 I'm afraid to watch the whole stream.
Very good tips. One point, for new players inside dungeons, especially tanks :), you want your party effects on. They need to see where other players have placed AoE, they need to see where the heals are. But for outside, yes.
Also, for ex-wow players who are new, making all enemy names and nameplates (engaged or not) show up in your UI will make things look more familiar and perhaps help with targeting.
Shouldn't turn all effects off. What I do is Show All for myself (since one person's effects aren't that bad, even with Holy spam) Show Limited for party, which is things like Sacred Soil, Earthly Star, Asylum, Salted Earth, etc. Heck, you mentioned Sacred Soil being one of your favourite abilities now, wouldn't you want people making good use of it being placed?

why do i have a feeling this video is specyfically targeted for a certain streamer? XD
I don’t recommend removing status ailments for new players. Because:
1. How are they gonna learn raid buffs considering they’re new and don’t know the icons of helpful effects of things like trick attack and chain stratagem?
2. Your dots and afflicted ailments always appear on the very left with a green timer, so they’re easy to see without filtering the others anyways. Never saw a point in filtering them.
I also recommend setting visual effects to limited and not remove them completely because the limited one shows the important stuff like doton, asylum, sacred soil etc. the stuff that you should see in order to stand inside or pull the mob towards.

most point on this guide is actually pretty common for ppl doing hunts, especially hunt tours right after weekly reset. could just call this guide the efficient way to do hunts during congestions. 1 tip to add that might not that useful since many should already have at this point, couldn't hurt to point out: get SSD drive & put your OS & FF14 in it, it'll tremendously make the game processes way faster than normal non SSD drives.

4:00 Please don't do this when running content. Please put "Show Limited" instead of "Show None" for party members as you won't be able to see important aoe telegraphs being put on the ground like, Asylum, Sacred Soil, Earthly Star, Doton, etc.
So not a fan of the new login world visit system. Tried it out and had a queue of 2000 players to wait through 🤦♂️ hope it gets better once it’s not a novelty
Love the tips. For the NPCs, on a controller, I use a custom tab target that only allows NPCs if I use L1 + X. Then I have one for just friendlies and just mobs.
Also I don’t know if it’s helpful for others or not but I have mob nameplates set to disappear once aggroed. Helps me as a DPS so I know once the tank has pulled everything and I can start going ham on my AOE.
Public channels? What public channels? First thing I noticed coming to FF14 was the utter silence in chat. No say, no yell, no shout. Nothing. Coming from WoW where chat is very lively, this was a culture shock and Im just happy I found a FC fast, though ingame but via the Lodestone. Its still baffels me when Im in Limsa or any other city: its so silent.
Im just your average Joe, doing stuff… but "general chat" doesnt exist. And its super unnerving…

I WAS in an fc for a good while but the girl running it caused drama over leadership (she hadnt played for months and it booted her rank idk it was months ago) and I really dont wanna get in another stupid situation with people I barely ever did stuff with. The reason I joined was to stop getting the damn messages and now they keep coming again.
I guess just put "fc's arent for me" in character bio?
