  1. Your #3 and #1 are also my faves. Some of the best for me in terms of atmosphere from the music to the visuals. The story points there ste some of my favorites too! I wish I could play it all for the first time again haha

  2. I love all your picks. One of my other favorites is the Azim Steppe, there's just something about it that feels like a home I lived in from another life to me for some reason.

  3. I tend to find that many of the zones that I like esthetically will be derailed practically.

For instance, I love Azys Lla esthetically, but having a zone that big with only one teleport point in the bottom corner made traveling around in there unpleasant. Especially when doing things like fate grinding.

On the other hand – Labyrinthos is ‘meh’ esthetically, but it feels pretty good to bounce around in.

That being said, my top three are: Azim Steppe, Dravanian Hinterlands, and Lakeland.

My bottom three are Azys Lla, Garlemald and Rak’tika.

  4. My Top 5 zones:
    1 – Crystarium
    2 – The Azim Steppe
    3 – Il Mheg
    4 – Old Sharlayan
    5 – The Ruby Sea

Runners up would include Elpis, Thavnair, Kugane, Lakeland, and Mare Lamentorum, and I'd put "Excitatron 6000" down as an Honorable Mention because I'm not sure it technically counts as a zone but I LOVE the design.

But Crystarium is hands down without question my favorite area. I just adore the whole design and vibe. Every time I'm there I find myself stopping at some point just to take in and admire the aesthetic.

  5. great list! you have most of my favorites up there. I actually really enjoy some of the other HW zones as well like the Churning Mists and Dravanian Forelands, especially when I factor in nostalgia and the music.
