  1. My favorite zone is the Dravanian Hinterlands. The way the ground is all blown apart due to everything going on with Alexander. The way Idyllshire is just chilling out on the rock ledge is an amazing visual. I love the buildings architecture as well as the color pallet for the area. It just has a spectacular feel to it. I liked your video man and definitely can understand Ultimate Thule being your favorite. It’s my second favorite zone, I was jaw dropped my entire playthrough out there.

  2. Love the music with each zone. Also, as much as I love your guides (very helpful!) A fun video like this is great! My list would be a little different, but definitely had a few the same! And #1 on your list was so.. AWESOME! I was tired, playing late and was sorta half asleep when I got there, but couldn't stop when I got there, but it made the whole experience surreal, like walking through a dream. Truly amazing!

The sad thing (and I don't normally like making these kind of comparisons) is I got to that zone the day after that awful, cringe promo video for Zerith Mortis dropped, talking about how alien they made everything, and a few hours later I entered UT.. yeah.. THAT was alien lol.

  3. Why does the thumbnail say they’re your “best” zones while the title and you yourself say “favorite”? These aren’t interchangeable statements.

Additionally, you can’t say that something is your best unless you yourself are in some way responsible for it’s existence.

  4. Every time I enter a new area I keep thinking “it can’t get any better than this”, and I’m proven wrong in the next zone. You pretty much listed most of my favorite places in Eorzea.

As for me I love all the cities. My favorite has got to be the Crystarium though. And I really love the inn room at The Pendants.

Since I’m on the First, I will also add in Fanow (Best! Treehouse! Ever!) and the Rak’tika Greatwood from the music to the glowing flower lined paths.

  5. Shout out to Rak'tika Greatwood – I know Lahee is a meme now but I honestly spent most of my time there not using a mount just to listen to the music (yes I know now I can turn mount music off). The Ravel is probably my favourite ShB duty, plus everything that gets revealed/answered in this zone. As many of the Shb/EW zones it has a lore advantage but the ambience in there is just chef's kiss.

  6. My favorite zone is Limsa Lominsa, simply because of all the people that socialize in that area. And Ul'dah, but only on Balmung. Those are the only 2 zones that make this game feel like "MMO".
My least favorite is Ultima Thule. Not only it's just too depressingly dark and is filled by EXTREMELY nihilistic NPCs – it has the most annoying zone soundtrack. I don't know whose "bright idea" was to put a song with lyrics on a loop as a zone-wide soundtrack but this feels like having a person constantly following you everywhere and repeating same few words in a loud voice over and over. It's the only zone in a game where I have to mute the background music completely.

  7. Thank you for this video, it's still interesting and entertaining even if it's not a guide! I think the zone I love the most in all of the game is Lakeland: it looks beautiful and the music at night is one of my favourites. Apart from that, my top ten would include Il Mheg (for all the reasons you listed), The Churning Mists (you can't beat the Zenith vistas) and Upper La Noscea (I guess I'm really into ruins haha).

  8. I really love Southern Thanalan, wish we could get a full zone like the Sagoli Desert, otherwise from ARR I really dig the southern end of the south shroud where Thanalan Meets the Twelveswood, and Outer La Noscea…the Hermit's cabin is my ultimate comf zone. Then from each expansion it's Churning Mists, Azim Steppe, The Tempest and Mare Lamentorum. I'd say Ultima Thule but it's a bit too dark sometimes and the rocky formations tend to get in the way of the beautiful skybox.

  9. i love all your guides but i love this type of content from you too!

my all time favorite zone right now is probably old sharlayan! i started in limsa which now feels like my hometown, and the water and boats in old sharlayan makes me feel nostalgic for when i first started my journey. but old sharlayan also makes me excited for my future adventures in ff! i love the aesthetic of the whole place and the music (especially the night theme… that classical guitar man) is some of my all time favorite in the game.

  10. the arr zones were so elaborate. you could tell they were hand crafted. everything after was just vast empty space with recycled assets plopped down at random.just a terrain leveler and some meaningless encampment placed somewhere in the middle. its absolutely disgusting how xiv treats the "open world". might as well not even be there. its just a chore that you have to traverse to get from point a to point b. no thought or care put into it whatsoever. also, absolutely nothing to do, no exploration to be done, no secrets that could be found. say what you will about wow but they did open world right. it felt like youre in a real breathing world.
