To be honest, I can’t remember hearing this in game. I think this may be the first time I’ve actually sat down to listen to Tomorrow and tomorrow but my goodness it is…sublime. @Amandaachen_official knocks it out of the park as always and I think the lyrics themselves are just so beautiful. Another one of Final Fantasy XIV’s beautiful tracks.

Awwww Marco, I was cheesing throughout your analysis. 😊
I’m honored to hear a fellow well-trained singer – with an ear such as you have – reacting to a song that I sing.
You’re absolutely right that I think about harmonizing my vowel shape – ESPECIALLY in high notes. It’s so integrated into my technique now, thank GOD 😅 (moreso than at the time of recording even).
That kind of vowel shape harmonization is what lends to balance throughout the range, gives that nice chiaro-scuro (a blend of light and dark qualities) so sought after in classical singing, and just overall makes singing feel more effortless – which in turn helps support that shimmery vibrato you’re talking about! (Yes I did do musical theatre too, so it’s fun to pull and pick and choose from different aesthetics to make my own style!)
I know Marco knows these techniques as a fellow classically trained singer, and I wanted to go in depth and explain a little for the readers in the comments here!
Btw guys, I am planning on recording a Singing Technique 101 module – “Masterclass” style – this year, so if that interests you, follow me here and keep your eyes on my socials! 🎉
Thanks again Marco, for your beautiful and expert analysis! ❤
The song appears after you defeat the final boss at Holminster Switch, where you absorb the first light warden's light, break the everlasting day and bring darkness to Lakeland & Crystarium. I remembered this so well is because this was the scene that hooked me into this game, this is THE most protagonist moment among all of the games I played.
Amanda Achen is a blessing we didn’t deserve 🥹
Hi Marco, could you compare 2 versions of a song in Doom and Doom Eternal.
BFG Division by Mick Gordon
You Can't Just Shoot a Hole into the Surface of Mars by Chad Mossholder
There was a huge dispute over the making of Doom Eternal OST, and the final product contains mixes of Mick's audio files by Mossholder. You can read more in a Medium article that Mick posted about it like a year or more ago.
To this day, some of my favorite moments in XIV. Thank you again!
Divine is the exact right word to describe it.
Hi Marco! I love your channel. You made me discover so many great songs that I now listen to on repeat and I have one I would be so happy for you to listen to. It's called "Adagio for Strings" by Samuel Barber from the game Homeworld, though it has existed long before the game came out. Not sure if that is a problem. It evokes so many powerful emotions for me and all the scenes it's used in in the game will live forever in my head, especially the return to Kharak…
There’s a reason Shadowbringers is my favorite expansion. The music is a very big part.
The ingame music gave me the decisive push towards registering a trial account which later got upgraded, ofcourse. I also kind of am a sucker for classical trained singers, very pleasant to listen to (I just can't listen to present "musical trends", I even go to Post Modern Jukebox because I find some of their covers way better than the originals). Having Marco going through some small details in singing techniques just makes me appreciate artists like her even more. I sometimes find myself doing some Ravana karaoke and I'm not a trained singer AT ALL but it's a good way to understand what it takes to get there.
Wut you haven't heard Tomorrow and Tomorrow yet? Damn
1:14: 🎶 Amanda's vocal versatility shines in the beautiful rendition of the song 'Tomorrow' from Final Fantasy 14.
3:56: 🎶 Analysis of vocal performance in a musical theater piece with beautiful string accompaniment.
8:16: 🎶 Melodic and pronounced vocal reprise announces a new beginning full of possibility and desire.

im not crying YOURE crying
This is hands down my favorite song in FFXIV ;A;
I tear up every time
At first i wasnt a big fan of this song (not that i hate it) when i first heard it but as time went on, it grew on me after hearing Flow
You should check out the vocal/piano duet. That one is my favorite.
by FAR my favourite piece in the whole game.
This isn’t related to the video, but I would recommend listening to the soundtrack of Dishonored 2. It has some folk tale style vocal songs along with some regular tracks, I think you would like it
This and Flow just kill me man… I Just tear up every single time
What I love about this song is that there is a progression to it that I can only sum up as "healing." The opening portion has an underlying tension and even a pessimism to it. When we break out of that, the next portion is far lighter, airy, and upbeat, but I still feel it comes off as just slightly reserved. It almost retains just a little of that inherent cynicism that the song opened with. When we get to "From those who've fallen…" it comes of as so reflective, very light once again but building into something brighter and more positive. Once we finally break into "Stand tall, my friend" with the full, developed instrumental section behind it, the piece feels like someone who has transitioned from simply trying to persevere and trying to be hopeful to someone actually having optimism and a love of life again. It's revitalizing, and seems to mark a genuine feeling of healing from a very bleak place.
I love this song~ Speaking of FF14 did you ever react to Dragonsong from the Heveansward expansion?
One of my favs 🙂
Literally makes me teary eyed every single time I listen to this song. It touches a very specific part of my heart and soul I cant really explain it.
Say his name.
This is one of the most beautiful, powerful, hopeful pieces of music I've ever had the pleasure of hearing in my life.
Ah, I remember hearing a version of this first time in crystarium night. It was a magical moment.
This is by and large one of my favorite songs in the franchise.
Would you mind a recommendation?
Tomorrow and Tomorrow and other Shadowbringers music made into a Japanese musical short movie played by FFXIV's characters telling their own story set in FFXIV world after the end of Shadowbringers. It's an amazing fan made movie. And the name is Tomorrow.

Tomorrow and Tomorrow, Revolutions, and Dragonsong. While I’m not too crazy about a lot of the FFXIV music, I love these pieces.
This game saved me a couple years ago. Wish I could say I'm doing better now but not yet. Today especially I needed to hear these lyrics and Amanda Achen's beautiful voice singing them
I still can't listen to this song without crying
"Eternal Winds" mentionned in the lyrics is not the theme of Crystarium but a Shadowbringers character's theme (not telling who just in case but you get it) and we can hear it when 5.0 Shadowbringers credits roll or at the end of Crystal Tower quests when the doors closes.
It is also taken directly from Final Fantasy 3 which is it's main theme and also where all the Crystal Tower and all it's references (bosses, characters, music, etc…) is from !
This song plays throughout different parts of Shadowbringers. I just recently went through it again with a another character. This one and Who Brings Shadow seem to be the two main songs of the expansion.
