I really like the relics and steps this expansion. Theres a good mix of grind and overlapping rewards for stuff and the stuff to do is fun in general. The only part of it I dont like which is discouraging me from dont a lot of them is timeworn artifacts.
I felt the ARR ones were too grindy to bother doing, the HW ones were the best looking but aetheric density and it just being a tome sink kinda got old as I did a few more, and Eureka isnt too bad but its also incredible hard to do them as a late/returning player,.
Bullseye on timeworn artifacts. It is the odd one out in the whole grind and gatekeeping me from chasing more relic weapons. It would be interesting to see some changes to it since clear times there can really vary and require a lot of essences + lost actions investment to make it faster.
Hi Mike, yeahhh I need to start my relic for my whm. I just hit level 78 yesterday so I should be able to start my relic by the weekend. I have all the pre recs done so I can start right away.
It's insane that they haven't made Delubrum drop at least 2 per run. 40-60 min runs with people that cant be bothered to even try by using essences and lost actions and you only get ONE timeworn artifact?
New relics looks like absolute garbage so I only completed one for completion's sake. I'll go back to grinding ARR and HW relics.
With regards to the Timeworn Relic and Raw Emotion step, I usually host Delubrum Reginae Normal speedruns in various Discord servers on Chaos requiring Pure Essences and DPS-increasing actions. On average runs last around 15-20 minutes, so up to 3 every hour. It makes the Timeworn Relic step much more bearable compare to using Duty Finder, and without the really low RNG below Floor 150 on Palace of the Dead.
How can you even be remotely close to finishing the one time story in zadnor though, the critical engagement spawn were so incredibly low than I only did 4 on them out of the first area when I reached rank 23, seriously on the few days after release that part was impossible

tbh I actually found the steps to get the first glowy weapon okay, I remember doing Bozja alot & it was really really fun in the early days, especially the critical engagements & doing it as a group, trying to get the mounts & other rewards ect
the only reason I am not motivated to continue is because the relic is only going to be BiS between raid tiers, so not alot of point if you already have the eden or diamond weapon until the next expac. & they just don't look good enough which makes me cry ;_;
They should add 5 Timeworns to every DRS clear.
what made me sad was having to step into bozja at all. If you wanted to get to the law's order step, you have to get rank 10 mettle and then castrum and then delebrum in order to get your relic weapon. Bozja was not enjoyable enough for me to want to spend any period of time on it, but if you want the relic weapon you have to slog through it, until you finish delebrum that is.
I didnt like how the first few steps pulled people out of bozja rather than incentivising them to do it, it just felt so totally backward, but the changes they made later on fixed most of the issues, except of course for the 18×2 but thats once off so ic an forgive it
But OH BOY, the 15 timeworn shite is so. fucking. bad, PLEASE for the love of god i would rather have had the 6×30 items as the repeatable step instead of that dr garbage, at least zadnor has some variety! hell, add a 2x of each of the 3 ce drops to each dalriada too for good measure and you wouldnt even have to go into the eden raids.
As for how they look, well, i dont think theyre the best relics we've had, i would have liked more particle effects but its different, and i can appreciate the effort in trying to be a little less samey, theres only so much you can do with glows and sparkles in the end so im not going to be negative about it
I don't really see the point of these relic weapons, there is no need for their extra power, and they look like power rangers props…
I love this expansion relic steps but god, screw 15 DR runs, i want to smack my brain to the wall doing that many times especially when no one wants to use DPS essenses. The step after that was better though
So far i made just 1 relic for my SAM till the end just to see the steps, currently doing DNC, MCH, GNB for my next ones until only Recollection for the glam
The grind is ok. The length is ok. The fact that there’s sections locked behind bojza is not ok.
made 5 weapons so far, (Warrior, Samurai, Gunbreaker, Red Mage, Black Mage) as of now I don't have a weapon at all the steps anymore so can't really grind for multiple steps at the same time now, but idk maybe I can see myself doing one more weapon, but holy fucking shit timeworn artifacts suck that is the single reason why I'm not getting them all, 15 god dam runs of DR I hate DR I hate it so much, I never liked it when it first came out then I run it 50+ times. DR needs to give more artifacts

Currently have one complete, one held on each of the prior steps (except the 500 > recollection step as that I already have all I'll need of) and all the base weapons. The Timeworn Artifact step is a major bottleneck, and I imagine it was intentionally done due to dev fears of that also going too fast based on the speed of getting the memories to go up to Recollection.
The augmented Law's Order gear is incredibly underpowered for the amount of grinding you have to do for it. Yoshi-P really like to take advantage of people's desire to glamour by overvaluing the ability to just dye those gear pieces. Five materia slots barely matter. Would've taken just two or three slots and item level 515 – 520.
And it's ashame that our artifact weapon had no role to play at all this time nor did we get a dyeable version.
The timeworn artifact step is the one that will stop me at 3 relics maximum, as that's what I've accumulated to that step. Not yet finished with the first, just got to rank 25 in zadnor and not done dal yet but I've grinded a bunch of normal raids, I still need loads of every CE drop, which I'll get from normal raids but I might do Z1 skirmishes for the other item I don't have 30 of yet either. I will be exclusively using blue mage in level 70 dungeons for the final step, even if I have to synced solo them like I did when I was learning the spells.
I'd also like to note that the timeworn artifacts drop rate in potd is ridiculously bad for me, though reportedly better for others. It's only when we get to floors 160+ (where it's 100%) that I agree with others on what the rates are like.
The other thing that will prevent me from doing more is that besides white mage the final ones look absolutely terrible in my opinion, which is dissapointing because a lot of the 515 ones are great, the rapier and BLM staff being highlights for me.
I like doing multiple relics, but mainly doing one at a time, so for the first few steps I do hw content. The timeworn step is such a nightmare compared to everything else then when I consider doing another relic I dont ask myself “do I feel like another relic” I ask myself “can I stomach 15 more delus or do I feel like levelling jobs in potd to the point of burning out”
