A detailed recollection of my struggle to obtain a house in FFXIV, complete with a satisfyingly triumphant ending. I’m sorry that I previously complained about winning a house after only 2 losses, only to then win 3 times in a row. I’m just a passionate person and those losses cut deep. Still, they taught me something important, which is that feelings are for homeless people.

Your videos are so good. So happy I found your channel. Love your humour and your style. You're like a non-lewd Lucy Pyre (mean that in a good way). Hope a lot more people find your channel
in Monster Hunter we called this the "Desire Sensor."
The more fucks you give, the less likely you are to get the drop you want. Simple as that.
I had been trying to bid for houses for months, and of course i lost every single of the dozen or so times I tried. When they added the new housing districts I got excited and bid for a Medium in SHIROGANE, the place where all the weebs want a house. I chose a plot right next to a large plot my FC leader had bid. I onIy won because no one else bid on my plot for some reason, and my FC leader won because he was bout to commit self forever-sleep and Yoshi P ain't about that so he have him his house.
5:30 — That shot is creepy as hell XD
As for the case studies, 100% agree XD Thats pretty much how I won (medium plot in the Goblet, right in front of the pool area ^.^ ) – though I also lost several other lotteries before the win, sooooo… its works… but not quite every time 😀
Sorry, kinda hoped for more interesting content on the channel but feels like its mostly clickbait. You are not winning more houses that way, you care less about the ones you are not winning.
giiiirl that rule is so true… in real life too. but hard to put into pracitce because sometimes you just can't make yourself stop caring
I would like to tell plot 14 – 35 in Lavender Beds (Lich)… and the other 75 bidders on it… that It's complete trash and i don't care about it one bit. Not at all. Nuh uh!
🤓Uhh… ACKSHUALLY housing winnings is rand- ack!
Lol ai my beloved ♥️
Keep up the good work
I bought one a looooong time ago on a new server before the lottery, but hardly had friends to play with. Moved to another server to hang with friends and play with them, had to give up my nice little home in the goblet infront of the fountain. It had a rather nice view of npc ladies swimming about, and found a decent little plot in limsa. Hoping that I get it, but if not. Then oh well, I'll keep at it as it's one of the main goals. That and getting married, so my cute lala can have a cute and/or sexy wife, and a cute house.
Got it, so bid on all plot 9's in the lavender beds!
Hey congrats. I also won a house a week after your first housing video. It was funny because I also stopped caring and then suddenly I won as well. It’s in Goblet but I’m right next to a MB and my neighbors have nice exteriors so I was lucky. I think I will try for Medium in the future when I’m no longer poor. 😅
In JP we call this bypassing the greed detector hack.
The secret is to play on a low pop server, and bid on a house with 0 other bidders.
Idk I think you should only be able to have one house per account but I’m glad your luck changed!!! ❤😂
I never cared about housing until recently. When they expanded the housing plots I decided to bid on a small. At first, I really cared about a nice view but then I realized I'll be inside the house 99% of the time so was it really a deal breaker? Instead I looked for plots that were nice to me, but not necessarily "popular". I bid and won. No other bids were submitted for my plot, but those around me all had multiple bids. I do feel like not over-stressing it worked in my favor. I settled for a non-optimal plot, but it seems my willingness to do so worked out great. For reference, it's Shirogane Plot 35. It's relatively secluded, no real view, but has a stream and a pond nearby with a Market Board above and below.
i live in mist 16!
This was a fantastic video xD
This is true. I finally threw in a random bid on a random plot and finally won. The market board is a pain to get to, but it has a nice view.
I haven't won since the new wards came, not a single bid but I never cared, with 11 houses already I really never cared a bit if I won for relocation or not. But I never won non the less. Maybe.. if you have more than one house… the RNG goes down the drain?
Even after my 10th attempt, over the year when Lottery came out, even AFTER I stopped caring, I still lost. Only on my 120th or so bid, I finally won. I put a bid in every housing reset. Lost every time until Feb when I got one finally.
LOL FFXIV had my soul when I did my first savages, but your problem seems….. more permanent
you know pain? I have entered every Lottery for over a year since they came out, for a Medium plot (some weeks mediums werent available but almost every week) and have lost every single bid and i was trying on main and alt lol… soooo losing twice isnt pain ? lol hahaha but congrats on your house
I remember the first time I bid in MIst, plot no 41 (I still remember the plot number that was how much I care for that plot), it was beside a big pillar but oh boy the sunset view from that plot is MAGNIFICENT. I really love that plot. And then I bid for a similar place where I can watch the sunset. Of course I failed. Then a spot in front of the beach open, there was 0 bidder and I was like 'oh damn I will get this hahahahhaaha' but ofc there was another bidder and I failed. Again. I skipped one time cuz I was too bitter, but then a beach front plot open and I was like 'eh, might as well try it even if I fail I don't care' and I remember there was 2-3 other bidders but guess what? When I stop caring and nurturing the plot I win the plot. So. This secret kinda true. But probably I just used 6 months worth of luck for winning that plot XD
It's absolutely hilarious how this video just described my entire housing emotional roller coaster. But I'm proud to say I'm the owner of two mediums
This kind of care/RNG definitely applies to most looting in FFXIV.
Was lucky enough to get my medium before the lottery system, had a small in Shiro I got when they were released, spotted a medium in Mist one day while I was just looking to see current state of free plots, went to check it out, somehow no-one was there so I thought "eff it" and relocated there and then 🙂
All these RNG can be fun and games after you get your first house, make you much less tilted when bidding, even if the plot is utter trash.
I got my first plot through detailed research on bidding pattern, in order to try to find a plot that will likely have 1 bid only at the end, since I am in Balmung, I felt this is very reasonable strategy.
And….. that's it, the only time Balmung will ever seen 1 bid house, the 6 ward expansion, I am the only who ''won'' something in FC, everyone else went for dream plot, medium, or even large, I didn't care, I just want a plot, any plot, I bid early, pray for a week, and got it.
Now, many lottery later, I am still the few lucky ppl who won something out of this trash mmo housing system, I have learnt to love my little Mist 11/41 plot, I enjoy the sunset, I decorate it in a way that feels less oppressed by the fact that I am living under a bridge, and I tried to redecorate a bit whenever I lose another relocation lottery.
My conclusion is that as long as you get your first plot, this RNG housing lottery system will become much more acceptable, but to many people who just keep losing and losing, it will be a constant mental stress, in fact I know at least two people stop playing FFXIV just to stop themselves from bidding on more house.
Either way, congrats on your win, might well enjoy your plot to the fullest now you don't have to pretend not caring about housing at all to improve RNG 😀
