The role quests just keep giving and giving. Was not expecting the twists this threw in, yet loved each.
With all other streamers and content creators working through MSQ, it's truly refreshing to see someone who taking their time playing through some of the side content. Another great video as always.
Something the game never says but very much hints at a lot is that Taynor and Unukalhai are two separate shards of the same soul. Both have a penchant for powerful magic and emotion-reading, both are more skittish in their personality until they meet someone comfortable to be around, very similar souls, same eyes even.
Edit note: as they are both shards, they cannot rejoin with one another. It’d take finding their counterpart in the Source to do that, as only those in the Source can be rejoined. As for who that is, nobody knows… but I would honestly guess Alphinaud. Just fits.
Taynor and Unukalhai have the same eye color. Given their familiarity with one another my theory is that they are soul shards of one another. Like you and Ardbert. Also, all Voidsent used to be people, Unukalhai mentions that during the Warring Triad, but it has been awhile and it's easy to lose track of the details. I like this side series a lot, it's wild that possibly saving the void is happening in side content. It would be a monumental victory to save the Thirteenth because that would be the end of the Voidsent. Stuff like Haukke Manor, Tam Tara, and Mhach could never happen again. Thank you so much for the content!
This was a fun little way to cap off the role quests and also I was surprised to see the connection to unukahalliah was nice. Thanks again for the awesome content! Can't wait for the next vid!

I love your videos! I particularly like the fact that you don't do a lot of editing so the story still flows (and seeing your mistakes keeps me from feeling so bad about my own!)
And at last. We reach the FINAL reason I asked if you were doing all the side content. I love all the old call backs and connections you can make doing everything extra.
At this point, going to the Thirteenth is not a "what if?" but a "when". Also this quest made me feel like we were forming the Scions of the First, and I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in the future they become our travel buddies like the Scions are now. Great video as always, I look forward to see your reactions to 5.4 and 5.5!
I love how this quest ties together so many threads. Like, the Eden raids, the Cardinal Virtues, and the Warring Triad, of all things, is a long net to cast and the story manages to weave them in organically
44:35 Some if not all voidsent we're once people I'm not sure if it applies to monsters/animals but it's possible that some were also turn into voidsent as well. Just like sineaters it's a fate worse than death since I think the transformation happens right down to your very soul.
I was so glad this quest line came along because “we gotta get let that kid out of that office” was a thought that had plagued me across two expansions.

I wouldn't be surprised if they bring back this group / storyline in a future expansion. FFXIV Lightbringer: Saving the 13th! 😉 I mean with ramping up the Hydalyn/Zodiark story they're going to need to do something!
It's kind of nice, this side story arc kind of made up a new Warriors of Light group. Just get Ryne and Gaia to join up and there will be no problem they can't handle! 👍
