I started playing FF14 during the mass exodus from WoW found this and really tried to get into it but man your statements about it are so on point
I don't mind grinding for achievements. I have the Chocobo Racing Mask and have completed every Chocobo Challenge race. I have most relic weapons in the game. I'd love to get the Lady of Verminion title but goddamn this minigame is absolutely horrible. I can't do it.

If you do battle tutorials up to battle 4, you can just do that same fight weekly 5 times (its very quick and easy) for challenge log purposes. Its a lot of MGP for tiny effort.
Tournaments for this, cause largely abandoned, often give you tons of MGP even if you just do 1-2 battles with NPCs. Just gotta remember to check when tournament is haha
The title made me think there would be more talked about than just Lord of Verminion, which I agree agree is not very good.

The entire lower level of the Gold Saucer gets remarkably little attention- even the minigames down there are rarely noticed, despite their rewards. Chocobo racing does have it's fans obviously, but the rest may as well not exist.
Goobbue fight for ez 3 log points and logger minigame for 2 more and boom, low lvl char just gained 10k gil from 7 minutes of Gold Saucer 😀
IMO, they should make it like Direct Strike in Starcraft 2 Arcade. AKA you place the minion's positions in formations, then after a set time, they automatically move and push the lane in a Tug of War. It's very easy to learn, but requires some skills to know which units should you put in front/behind/side, which units to pick etc.
Don't forget to play it 5 times for a large weekly mgp. It's very quick
