The First SAVAGE Dungeon In Final Fantasy 14 | Xeno's First Clear



In this video Xeno clears Another Sil’dih Subterrane (Savage) – the very first Savage dungeon added in Final Fantasy 14. This is a newly added criterion dungeon on the savage difficulty. In this dungeon if anybody dies, they can’t revive and you have to restart the dungeon from the beginning. No mistakes allowed. In spite of the high difficulty, the rewards are extremely lacking unfortunately.

  1. I did not expect there to be any gear upgrades tied to this. But they could at least have given you some exclusive cosmetic items beyond just a earring like a mount, armor or weapon glam.

  2. It seems like SE has designed something that's challenging for small player groups with the only negative I've seen being the rewards. I need to hear more from people on how they think compares to other content in the game before I can say what sort of rewards would make the most sense for the content.

  3. They could've added like twine or coating to this as a reward, instead you get stuff that doesn't matter. Basically clear once, never do it again.
    Which sucks for the future because this will be content that will be almost as dead as DR savage.

  4. Idk why ANYONE would expect gear upgrades lmao, that totally goes against what SE preach when it comes to mandatory content. I think weapon or armor glam would be the best thing to do for next time.

  5. I imagine that they MAYBE didn't wanna tie gear rewards to something they aren't sure many people would like or engage with since its new content. Idk. Really seems like they could have added SOMETHING and I hope they dont like at the clear rate and say "welp, looks like people didn't like 4 man savages" when in reality its the rewards that are the issue.

  6. So this is just the same as normal criterion but you have to do it all in one go and you can't raise? Sounds like artificial difficulty, why do people want meaningful rewards locked behind this again?

  7. Perfect content to have some relic/glowing armor like in eureka as a reward. Could be just glam or maybe it gives you buffs only inside dungeons as a reward for clearing it and a reason for doing it more than once.

  8. Giving it proper rewards would not make it mandatory, it would make it an alternative. Giving a twine or a shine would have been the way to go. Those are hard to obtain for how many of them most statics need anyway. I was hoping they would threat this similar to Mythic Dungeons in WoW. This is disappoiting, I’ll do it once and never look back, since I already got past the normal version without looking at the rewards, it won’t be long for a savage clear now and I won’t be going into further criteriom dungeons unless they give something meaningful.
