  1. My first non WoW video in the new video format! I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it!

  2. If I'm not mistaken /e isn't actually shown in chat, but is short for the /echo command (which just returns your own text to you, like an echo. to test chat stuff without bothering anyone). For emoting its /em. So "/em stands up and looks around." turns into "Char-name stands up and looks around." in the same chat color as other emotes.

  3. I haven’t noticed it until this moment (I’m new to ffxiv) but the fact that player characters have no animation when they speak and no chat boxes really throws off my immersion

  5. G'day currently watching through the full vod really entertaining ^_^ few mentions i wanted to make

TLDR FF:XIV fantastic game i hope you end up coming back and making it into the actual meat of what it has to offer
there is so much more going for the game then just the surface level weeb rp. Of coarse it's not for everyone no game is
but FFXIV has one of the most welcoming communities in gaming and even in high end raiding people are far less likely to
nuke you out of a party and more likely to guide you on how to improve people have time and often help others so yeah
you will always be welcomed back

FF Can be overwhelming but i just gotta say playing WoW doesn't make you a boomer >.> FF Has been around long before WoW
FFXIV encompases and connects alot of stuff from throughout the series so to understand some of the stuff one would actually

need to be a boomer (Just throwing it out i don't care for the term boomer so not using as a insult or compliment) Culture shock
is the main thing that will set you apart but don't worry about it a great many weebs and non weebs are prevelant in the community
and there is no brooding wars between them. I know of a few guilds that encourage or enforce attire/glamour limitations for players
that want a less outlandish experiance or just change of pace.

Does the light exist in this universe? The Light is a staple of the FF franchise and as is the case in FFXIV
The players/adventurers are acknowledged as the Warriors of light or various forms of that so yes the main story revolves
around the Light. Paladin/White Mage combo through the game for ultimate bringing of light 😉 also Tank/Healer so instant dungeon
    times >:D

There are a ton more emotes that are unlocked via questing, events or of coarse the premium ($) shop. Most of the stuff
On that shop was avaiable during events tho so tho alot of items appear on it the reason the community isn't enraged by it
because people already earned it so don't stress themselves being paywall locked.

/cpose was mentioned in chat a few times when you messed with emotes but from what i saw you mostly missed it so just
wanted to touch on it /cpose allows you to change the default animation of what you are currently doing namely idle or sitting
on the ground or in a chair or with your weapon drawn. When your characters hands kept going behind their head that was becuase
you changed the default pose to that while messing with emotes earlier. Cpose is great and gives variety to even how different
    people stand around.

/e or /echo is used almost exclusively for macro reminders it's a chat only you can see,
/em is the emote chat that will list "Medic Medulla looks on with concern" etc…

You can lay in beds with /doze but only some beds namely all the ones in player houses.

Some emotes only work in certain conditions like while riding or while swimming or the animation changes depending what
you are doing in the emote menu it shows when you can and can't use a emote.

You can go into first person with default bind [Home] and UI off with [Scroll Lock]

And finally the complaints or just mentions of the clunkyness there are two things that should be kept in mind,

first… The game launched on PS3 there are alot of limitations in the early game that are obvious because it had to support

and handhold the PS3 hardware and new to MMO playerbase (clunky map, small instanced zones and various other things)
As you get into expansions the cutoff for support for the PS3 becomes apparent visuals are much improved and the world
spaces become much larger with far fewer invisible walls and my god the music is incredible throughout much of this game
but only continues to get better into the expansions.

Imo once you get used to the map it's fairly easy to understand and navigate with

second… The game was a massive failure on launch the nightmare that was 1.0 and practically bankrupted the project

in less then two years they virtually rebuilt the entire game from the ground up and that's what ARR the main story

that you are playing is from. Voice acting is expensive and various other QoL and quest variety had to be scraped

Everyone in the FFXIV community acknowledges it is not a very enjoyable experience for most new players (some like myself

enjoy the early game). With time they have revisted and cutdown some of the needless clunk but it's not perfect.

However it establishes the groundwork especially lore for the expansions which even the first expansion Heavensward is

Day/Night difference 99% of the voice actors change and there are alot more voice acting scenes, quest layout and denseity

is improved and much more. Tho story skips are available they are very much frowned upon because unlike WoW FFXIV story

gets better and better as the expansions go on and everything tends to connect or establish reasoning.

Minor mention as someone playing a male character it almost feels like a harem in early dungeons :'D My character in cutscenes
often surrounded by the 7 women in my party. In mid/end game there is more variety of male/female but also alot more lolafell
    (children characters)
