After collaborating with all of the friends and allies we have made along our journeys, we have succeeded in completing the impossible task of constructing a gargantuan Talos fit enough to grab Mt. Gulg from the sky; all within a single day! As large of a step as it may be, it was still no time to celebrate; the Talos had yet to accomplish its intended function! As it slowly made its way towards the levitating mountain, a veritable army of airborne Sin Eaters bombarded the Talos. At first, the attempts were futile, as they had rammed their bodies into its stone and had merely served to thin their own numbers. However, they quickly adapted to using their light-blighted aether to relentlessly fusillade the golem, which proved to be unsettlingly effective. Though resistance was to be expected, it was uncertain whether or not we’d be able to come to the Talos’ rescue in time before it was nothing but a pile of rubble.
Fortunately, unexpected reinforcements arrive: Feo Ul and a flock of Amaro from Il Mheg! They had made their way all across the land to join in the final battle… or, most likely, to berate us for not inviting them sooner. Either way, they have come, and with their newfound powers as Titania, they successfully fend off the waves of Sin Eaters long enough for the Gargantuan Talos to grip onto the mountain and pull it earthwards. A resounding success! Mt. Gulg is now pulled down and bridged via the body of the Talos!
We set off to meet our fellow Scions at the foot of the mountain, in which we prepare to scale our way towards Vauthry’s abode. Shortly after setting off, we find ourselves cleaving through waves and waves of Sin Eaters of all sorts, including Vauthry’s favorites, which we had encountered during our first meeting with him. Though powerful as they were, they were not enough to stop us from achieving our goal. After clearing out the lower levels of the mountain, Vauthry taunts us from his throne, in which Alphinaud and Ryne retort with a plea for Vauthry’s redemption and a steadfast proclamation of rebellion respectively. Now further angered, Vauthry summons a large plethora of Forgiven Veneries seemingly out of thin air, and the manner of their summoning positioned in a way that they surround us entirely. Alphinaud beseeches us to press onwards as he and the other Scions remain behind to fend off this large wave.
And thus do we climb the alabaster steps to the golden throne to lay the false god low.

Well done sir.
If I had it on hand I'd yap about Innocence's FR dialogue, but I don't. Instead:
Fun FR localization fact: Emet-Selch's last words at the Crown to you are "I'll wait for you, my dear monster" (:
Wait…
at 13:47 did you add squish sounds? lmfao
The next part is one of my favorite & emotional moments in the expansion. The 'revelations' that we find out about what really happened with Graha & the speech he gives. That cutscene & speech is a truly uplifting yet tear jerker at the same time. It truly makes our character what many of us wanna feel like…a legend an inspiration to others & even though it's a video game it gives some real good feelings inside. You can't help but feel it.
Don't know if this was commented but…he's named Innocence because he was born a sin eater.
The gunshot from Emet-Selch is so fucking good.
"You all had a master plan. Tragic. Heroic. It possibly could have worked. Good job!"
BLAM
"Not good enough, but good job!"
This! This is the episode I've been waiting for. The reveal of who the Crystal Exarch is. They have dropped so many little hints to who he is. The crystal tower itself, the fact you can call him out by name very early on in shadowbringers if you did the crystal tower raids, and a couple others. The big one that clued me in as to who he could be was a couple episodes ago.
In that part where you were fighting along side the exarch, escorting the dwarf…Remember how they played the crystal tower theme? I had done the raids recently when I did that part, and the gears started to turn for me. I ran through my head who why it would play that theme…and all the pieces click into place. Coming to this realization made the reveal, and the events that followed hit all the harder.
I could tell those final scenes were hitting you pretty hard too, though maybe not as hard as me since I actually cried to G'raha's reveal. Still I could hear how much the twists was clearly weighing on you. They did an amazing job the the story, and Emet I feel is the best villain in the whole game…and he's not done yet.
Also that intro was perfect. The episode didn't need a bigger, fancier one like some of the previous ones. This short and sweet one, for everything going on, did it's job perfectly of catching us viewers up, and get us hyped and ready and wanting to see you kick vauthry's butt!
I look forward to seeing you continue. Your reactions remind me of the experience I had playing, trying to piece everything together. Still a few more puzzles for you to solve though.
man…another incredible episode. amazing job (even if there ae parts you're not as satisfied with), and i promise that this is another excellent installment to be proud of. EDIT: also that outro?????? im crying???????
i had been spoiled about the exarch long before i ever started FFXIV (i've played for a little over a year total), but that still has never dimmed just how impactful that reveal is–i remember being just as in shock as you were, and upset about…so many different things. bawling my eyes out, in all honesty. it's still just very telling of how the story has been told so well that even knowing or at least predicting that g'raha has been helping you the whole time doesn't make the reveal any less important or noteworthy, and it's one of the best parts of this whole expansion still for me. shadowbringers really is something else.
thank you again for sharing your playthrough with us–i'm still incredibly excited to see more as you get to it, and i think you'll really really like where it goes–i know i did. and i actually play on primal too, so maybe someday i'll bump into you out in the wild.
please take care of yourself out there, my friend. stand tall, for g'raha tia, and ardbert, and all your friends in the first!
you missed the opportunity of a truck beeping sound as vauthry was coming down the mountain.
Yes

i dont think its ever been claimed ascians can only master the void… concidering they're the ones that summoned Hydaelyn to begin with, the most light beeing of all. if we take emets words as truth… and i do as i dont think he had any reasons to lie or was egoistic enough to bolster their skills, ascians were masters of all magic back before the sundering. and emet is one of the unsundered, meaning he probably retained most of his powers, if not all.
like your reactions and series so far though 😀
A comment I found before about Innocence that I wish I knew who said it:
All of the sin eaters have the name “Forgiven” in them as they have been forgiven for their sins as they turned. Vauthry was born a sin eater, and therefore could not commit a sin to the light, therefore he is Innocent
Im filled with excitement to your reactions to the Tempest and what you will find there! Its been so long but I remember so much of it. And all I can really say is: IF you truly are interested in what you find, set aside time to enjoy a couple sidequests as they explain a lot of stuff! Hope to see you soon friend
I love all the little sounds effects you add to the gameplay, I always have to rewind to make sure I'm not imagining them and get a good laugh every time. Great stuff, I hope you're having a good time making the videos!
The "what the f*** are you doing" rescue during Beautific Vision sent me rolling 😭🤣😭🤣
This and the scene before this was as close as Emet-Selch ever comes to stating why he sought to cooperate with us. He never fully says why he was hoping we could contain the light; but based on one of the previous cutscenes, he seemed genuinely hopeful we could do so.
It's been clearly shown on numerous occasions that light aether is harmful to Ascians. My personal theory is that Emet-Selch was hoping we could be used to correct their original mistake, provided the Warrior of Light could contain the light aether within their soul. He could transport our soul to the Thirteenth shard, currently the World of Darkness, and release the light within, returning the aetheric balance to that world. This task would be necessary for the completed Rejoining, and the Ascians cannot do it themselves.
It's the subtle things Emet-Selch does during his appearance here that just make me love him more and more as a character in the story.
One of the more unnoticed things i've seen is that the Emet offers the WoL a sort of twisted form of respite within the Tempest. He didn't have to, he could have sat back and simply watched as everything went down joyously reveling in the chaos.
But he genuinely does pity and respect the WoL. So much so that he would rather see them have some fragment of solace before destroying the entire world, regardless of how little it probably means.
It's little nuances to him like that that made me fall in love with this story and how fantastically excellent all the characters are crafted.
Bro he can just teleport the lightwarden there and kill it, it's not that deep
wow now that i know who loghrif is, and rewatching all this i know who is emet speaking of.
Been looking forward to this one! So many twists and turns I were constantly at the edge of my seat my first time around!
Great video love your reactions and your rp to be more immersed. Cant wait to see the rest!
Also. "This is the apex, huh?" Oh ye of little faith. 🙂
Such a sad ending this week. But loving it just the same. It’s ramping up! Cant wait!!
As is tradition
Ehum
O No HE IS HOT !
xD
OH NO
HE'S HOT
Everyone piles praise unto 14 and I sometimes wonder if maybe I cheer it on unconditionally and if that's right for me to do so as a consumer.
But I watch someone go through all the moments that Shadowbringers has in store from them. And all the wonderfully woven dialogue, world-building and characters, and seeing it all pay off in genuine powerful moments. And I end up truly feeling that this game deserves nothing but love.
I'm enjoying your reactions so far and looking forward to you finishing the Shadowbringers story line and start the next. I"m kinda curious if you plan to watch the newsletter next month. (I think the 18th) Apparently they are going to reveal information about all the jobs' new skills. Could be exciting to see what is in store for your favorite jobs as far as combat goes and possibly more details on the new jobs as well.
Love the write up in the description <3, cant wait for the next video.
I´ll admit that I personally had known about the Exarch being Graha long in advance because uh.lets just say theres a lot of art out there that you can easily stumble over snooping around social media. But even then, this Scene and especially the whole aftermath are rough and REALLY well done to really drive home the emotional impact of it all.
I am loving this series, and I hope you're having a wonderful time with it. ♥
Innocence. In the fucked up world of Sin Eaters, he was born one, so he has no sins, thus he is "Innocence".
I don't want to put pressure on you, since we all know you get pretty stressed about the editing process, but…
Next video, if we don't get a big gigantic intro featuring G'raha Tia's reveal, to the tune of a custom reprise of Tomorrow & Tomorrow, I will be personally disappointed.
JK, you're great. You should do that tho.
Feel My Wrath!
Emet Selch saves G'raha from dying in the void and doesn't even get a thank you. Such gratitude… 😏
I believe he's saying 'feel my wrath'. Sounds like wroth to me though. Accent, maybe?
What I don't see a lot of people remark on is that Ardbert is the perfect character to console us in this moment. He's the expert, here—in attempting to be heroic, to save everyone, we've made it worse, possibly even doomed the world to an even worse fate: if we turn into a Warden for real, then it's our friends, the powerful Scions, who will fight and fail to put us down, thus becoming sin eaters themselves, and then who is left in the First to stop the Light? Who could even strike down a normal primary Scion, much less one overburdened by Light?
But Ardbert knows. No matter how heavy the guilt is, no matter the uncertainty of tomorrow, there's no use moping around. You've got two prefectly-good legs, get up and use them. Keep moving forward. Find another way. A lesson he had to learn the hard way… a lesson we taught him.
