I love a good MMORPG. For years I’ve played these games with my brother and would get lost in exploring these in-game worlds. My brother was much more of a skilled player, while I was more focused on the story. But with the MMORPG Final Fantasy 14, I have spent over 600 hours with the game and don’t regret a second of it.

Pollymacho, for you lemme get back into FFXIV. Cause I never could get a handle on the controls, and even if I can't I wanna be one of those weirdos who become a master as crafting (& tanking). I love MMOs due to being a background character in a greater world, so when it comes to FFXIV (cause I love the aesthetic); I'll try again.

Seems like a solid video. It's quite lenghty though, right now i cant watch it all, but i dont know if pptential players would wanna go through 30 min. The segments is a good thing you include to alleviate though!
And yeah ffxiv is really good, y'all should try it, as long as you are in the mindset, don't force yourself either or you wont enjoy your journey ❤ best story i have ever played.
(Also i am sorry but how do you play with this HUD 😰 whichever you feel comfortable with though for sure. There is a bunch of vids if you want tips on how to optimise your HUD and in game macro tips! Thats one of my favorite thing about this game, is just how much you can customise your experience)

It’s funny I got recommended this video because I just started playing this game today😂 I was already getting bored of the main quest, but knowing it gets better latter on help a lot. Imma take my time and enjoy the slowly

Hello there! Seeing your take with the whole experience makes me nostalgic. I'm still playing FFXIV grinding some current endgame stuff but I agree whole heartedly that ARR was slow even for my taste but it rewards you immensely after. I did enjoy ARR but what solidified by love for this game was Heavensward and what made me more invested was Shadowbringers. Up until now, the entire story arc of Hydaelyn and Zodiark is a rollercoaster for me. I haven't been as much as an emotional player before but this game made attached and emotional until the very end.
I always get a little bit bothered whenever the talk of FFXIV goes around how slow or bad is ARR, because I don’t remember having what I would call a bad time during my playthrough. I started FFXIV in 2021, after seeing my elder brother playing the shit out of the game on our PS4 and hearing him saying how good it was, but never paying that much attention to the game. When I saw the full game with all the expansions on sale, I told myself “ok, let’s give it a try”. I must add, during that time I wasn’t in the best place mentally speaking. The pandemic was still going on and had not been able to secure a stable job, so obviously that was taking a toll on my mental health, so getting into a new MMORPG was an escape for me, and I think that helped a lot on my appreciation of the game compared to others who have heard how good the story was and etc. Because sure, I also was aware of the praises FFXIV gets for its story, but I wasn’t playing necessarily because I wanted to get to the good parts, I just wanted to enjoy a game and a world that would allow myself to disconnect from my problems, and for me that is the best way to get into ARR. Don’t see it as the part that it gets between what others have told you it’s when the game gets good, instead just enjoy it at your own pace. Do some MSQ, take some side quests and level up other jobs, explore the world, maybe put a little bit of role playing into it, but don’t treat the game as a book only because of its good story. Is not there to be completed, but instead experienced.
For me ARR was like "huh, this is like good World of Warcraft expansion, generic fantasy with kinda cheesy plot". Then post-ARR happens (42 minute cutscene, which feels like it is 10 minute ) aaaaand, well, I found my fullfillment.
