I enjoy watching all angles of this… from asmon, to other WoW streamers, to FF14 streamers.
I resubbed to 14 before I even knew Asmon (i.e. a month ago), then I found him and so many other great channels and they've all helped increase the joy I get from the game 🙂
ARR better than threads of fate in shadowlands…… ouch.
I have to admit Asmon had trepidation about him leveling through ARR. I am happy to be proven wrong.
Yeah, Asmongold is right, ARR is not that bad, it's actually pretty good for an MMO. It's just that we have been spoiled by the expansions, which all of three are better than ARR in every way.
Asmon is reading every quests. He is bound to truly love this game as he plays it with respect as to what it tries to be and accomplish. It may not become his main game but his views are forever changed for sure.

Asmon is right, ARR isn't bad at all! Genuinely believe it's simply since we all have already done HW, the post game of SB and by now the current SHB, it just- HW & SHB, blew ARR and SB out of the water!
It's going to be super exciting watching him do the post ARR content alongside entering HW

I'm starting to wonder if the reason all the big WoW figures were bashing the half naked bunny girls in FFXIV is because they knew they'd get exposed on stream if they played the game

The ARR grind has ALWAYS been way overstated, and usually is blown out of proportion by those who are new to MMOs in general and have no perspective on how bad it can be.
Y'shtola is the only name he pronounces correctly. Sometimes.
I mean.. no wonder FF14 had no wievership before Asmongold and Rich came in.. Thats painfull to watch sometimes.
I love the fact that the people who annoyed Asmon when he started have dispersed the moment the bans started coming in

The whole “ARR is a slog” meme works against the community in some ways and for the community in some ways. I will say, with the way they tuned down ARR’s questline filler & made leveling through it easier, it’s not as bad as people remember. So if it’s your first time playing ARR it’s honestly not that bad, and it’s wonderful world building experience that really lets you connect with your character & learn the rules of the world before everything hits the fan.
On the other hand, constantly making ARR such a meme makes a lot of people skip it, or never get into the game because they’re constantly told “the game sucks until you hit lvl50”.
