  1. Yes, when you mentioned that special bond between core group of players that stuck with the game and believed in Yoshi-P, many of the newer player groups will, out of full context, see it as some "odd excessive worship" to Yoshi-P and the staff. The community is quite vocally protective in this way. But could you fault them? I don't think so.

  2. Im not sure if i am alone on this or if i am echoing this sentiment. There is no rest for the weary. And the dev team for xiv have continued to deliver despite setbacks and challenges. As a community, i feel the only way we can truly show our appreciation and show the greatest respect to them is by playing the living hell out of xiv and in whatever way we can, let the team know, you guys are not alone. In the words of a warrior of light, “Even the mightiest hero cannot fight alone.” Lets make the next decade another to remember. “There is nothing more fictional than reality. And there is nothing more real than fantasy.”

  3. It's nice though, since I joined the closed beta of the first Realm Reborn servers in Europe.
After Aion Online got destroyed by GameForge, I was looking for a good alternative.
WoW didn't cut it for me anymore, after Wrath, but then this came around the corner, and I was blown away how good it was.

  4. I absolutely love the development team and knowing that Yoshi-P wants to make his own MMO before he stops developing, I will follow this man to whatever game he creates. But I hope that he and anyone else going with him on that personal project are able to either pass ffxiv in hands of a new generation they can trust to keep it going the way they would've or they are able to lay ffxiv to rest with dignity. I cried a few times watching this. <3

  6. I am a 1.0 vet. I have my survivor mark. I was there for the alpha, the beta, the launch, the servers going down, the second beta(and I specifically play tested fem roe and part of my feed back was making sure she had muscle pose emotes I HAVE DONE MY DUE DILIGENCE FOR THE COMMUNITY! : D). I've walked with people. I've walked on ahead while people have left. I missed people who have disappeared. I have so many memories tied to this game and I don't regret any of it. Here's to many more years, even if its only a few hours at a time.

  7. I love this video! I love FFXIV with all my heart & soul! I agree with ya Quazii 110%! FFXIV saved my life from being in a very dark place! This game has made me grow as a person & has made me appreciate life! I was one of the people who left right before 1.0 shutdown! I had heard 2.0 was released & I was like that game stinks I am not going to try it! This was the biggest mistake on my part! If I could go back in time, I would have stayed so I could see the end of 1.0 & be there at the start of 2.0! I love most everything in this great MMORPG! To me it IS the greatest MMORPG forevermore, PERIOD! Great video Quazii, keep up the great work! 😉

  8. I believe at the time of this interview, SquareEnix was already starting work on FF16, this is due to the fact that the HW writer and team had stepped away from FF14 around the time of Stormblood and were moved to the FF16 preliminary dev team to begin work on it, so this would include the HW writer as well as YoshiP himself I would imagine.

  9. I'm amazed by XIV, honestly. In all my years of playing MMO's, the one constant has been WoW. I would leave to play other games, but I always went back. XIV is the only MMO I've played that broke me from my WoW fixation. I'm more hyped for 7.0 than any MMO release, or expansion release, in the near future. Hell, I'm more hyped for 6.3 than I can even express.

I love XIV for what it is, and no matter what I do, if I step back and play other games, I know I'll always come back to it. I'm a FFXIV lifer now.😁

  10. It's very rare for me to be as satisfied with both the game and developers as I am with FF14. Is it utterly perfect? Nothing in the world is, but man, this team and game are lightyears ahead of their competition.

  11. I was a 1.0 beta player and played until they turned subs on. I definitely regret not paying for 1.0, but at the time, I just couldn't justify it. Been subbed since day 1 of ARR though, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. XIV is such an amazing game with some pretty amazing people running it and playing it. I've played XI (recently resubbed, actually), WoW (beta for vanilla and then during WotLK), Guild Wars, and maybe a couple others, but it's the story that SE puts into its games that keep me coming back, and is the major reason I couldn't justify subbing to 1.0 at the time.

  12. I’m eager to see Quazii react to Blizzard’s new pre-launch stream of Dragonflight. It would be hysterical. I saw Rurikhan react to it last night and he tore it up, it was so funny. Then I saw Asmongold react to it and it was just about the complete opposite to how Ruri reacted to it. Either way, WoW’s Dragonflight pre-launch stream was hysterically cringey.

  13. The funny part about the launch stuff is that one of my buddies I was trying to get into FFXIV was on the fence about getting the game and around the time Endwalker came out he told me he was going to get it and give it a try, just see how it was, and then the sales were locked like the day of and I had to explain it to him. And he had mad fucking respect for that and was at that point fully committed to getting the game, like that was what cemented it in place for him and the moment sales came back up he got the game for him and his wife and me and mine have been playing with them on there ever since.

  14. It took me until Shadowbringers to give it a shot. I'd heard the terrible reviews, heard that 2.0 was actually not bad, but the idea of paying for another subscription really pushed me away from considering it. Finally, some friends got me to try it out on the free update.

By the end of the first week in ARR, I'd subscribed.
