Susano Min iLvl and Tales of Pirates ★ FFXIV 1st Playthrough EP35

Quazii tries Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) for the first time in 2021 (Episode 35). Is it better than World of Warcraft (WoW)?

  1. I sense the Stormblood story is really heating up now, after a lot of setting up in the earlier quest chains. Looking forward to seeing the story out. Sidenote, Sasano Min iLvl got me psyched to see the Ex versions of the other primals when I eventually beat the MSQs. Have a great day all!

  2. the whole Hingaishi Doma thing is kind of interesting because while most of the character names are japanese the countries seem to be vague allusions to the history of japan and the chinese mainland, like how kugane is a port open to foreigners while the rest of the country, hingaishi, is closed off, and then the ruby sea being controlled by a third party might be a reference to historical korean kingdoms? and then doma itself has a very chinese feel but there's still japanese terms and names used which I think is an allusion to the shared cultural cross-pollination between japan and china over the centuries.

Also there's an optional dungeon in the ruby sea from the underwater village that i greatly recommend doing sooner rather than later as it's a great experience and also plays into the japan/china/etc mythology theme of this whole part of the expansion. There's just a lot going on here.

  3. Stormblood has some of my favourite trials and dungeons, the eastern vibe and lore is quite nice. Story wise it didn't hook me all the way through, but man… The Yotsuyu stuff made me feel the entire spectrum of human emotion I think lol.

  4. The funniest part is that if you checked the questlog text after fighting Susano, it'll say something along the lines of, somehow you found 7 of your adventurer friends who were coincidentally in the area so they helped you out in the fight, referring to before the duty where Lyse says that maybe your friends will come and help you out xD

  5. The coolest thing about the swimming etc. Is that you can swim in some 2.x + areas, so you can do to the beach and swim. (before Stormblood there was no swimming at all.) They could have easily ignored the older zones but they didn't.

  6. Now we are at the interesting point where I have to stop watching your normal playthrough of the story, because you're so addicted to the game that you've caught up to me in the MSQ in record time. :p

It was nice being your senpai for a while Quazii. sigh Sprouts these days, they grow up so fast.

  7. Small tip, for Active Time Maneuver you don't have to click. You spam ANY button on your keyboard. It's way easier this way. I don't play controller but I assume it's the same thing as long as you dont hit your home button

  8. One thing I really appreciate about the Stormblood bosses is that several of them are not your average "Ahhh, I am baaack, time to kill kill kill!" kind of bosses.

I can't go into detail into all of them because spoilers but for Susano, he's more like "Hell yeah, a challenge! Come fight, let's dance." He's just happy to fight someone worthy.

  9. you could get carried for that Kugane vista, by using BLU mage with self destruct skill and ask your skilled friend who have healer jobs to do that last jump

  10. Just like you love Zenith from HW, I love the nighttime Ruby Sea piano music so much. Just swim out to the middle, float, light a cigarette, and relax.
Proud of you for taking the sword during Susano!
