  1. The issue with Gosetsu's health is his back got crushed while holding the ceiling, so he can't fight anymore and became a (religious) monk.

  2. I may not have loved this expansion, but I did and still do think the music is beautiful and made me feel sometimes like I was watching an opera in some way.
I do think SB was much more world building. It showed the politics not just between different countries, but within a nation itself whether it be via the Ala Mhigan liberation or Uldah's politics.

  3. I love how they first show us reaction of Gosetsu on Dotharl believes of soul. And then how his belief evolves with Tsuyu, amazing writing on so many levels.

    Btw. Kyle plus read this.
I saw your half of your live with gamepad for the first time. I wanted to tell you that you can change target while holding the trigger, you just do it with blocks instead of d-pad. It makes playing a lot easier.

  4. The Zenos questions about the body swap and evading death can be answered by the Echo he gave himself. After he copied the Echo from Krile he gained abilities like being able to control Shinryu.

  5. This is why Stormblood is my favourite expansion. The story was so grounded and REAL, I didn't feel like I was being pushed by fate or crystal mummy but I got caught up in politics and there is no black or white. The slow parts were good for world building.

  6. By the way, Gaius in old Praetorium actually did the X attack too. If the fight went long enough anyways. He died too fast for most people to ever see it, but I remember it from back in ARR times.

  7. There is a comment you have about how when we tell everyone hey Asahi is a problem, we are believed… It is part of how good the story telling is, the others KNOW who we are, and if we say hey this dude is a problem, its not like, who are you? Compare this to WoW where every time you meet Jaina or Thrall or something its like the first time you met.

  8. Zenos surviving is explained in the ARR patch content. Those that master the echo can override the souls of others and move themselves to the other person's body. We saw it with the fish people, but Zenos has a super powered echo which is effectively the same as a mastered normal echo.

  9. I knew you guys were not prepared! 🙂 I can't watch this yet because my kid has school but the title tells me you guys had about the same response. In a way it angers me that Florida woman gets a redemption arc when she was not treated nearly as badly as Tsuyu. I keep a plate of dango in my apartment as a reminder of how innocent and childlike she was, which completely reminded me of my brother after he had a major stroke. This story slaps. Now that I know you are not prepared, I will start super chatting you guys a few extra bucks for the Kleenex budget!

  10. The .3 patch of every expansion has knocked it out of the park, being (arguably) better than the "ending" of the base expansion. Nidhogg, Tsuyu, <REDACTED> are all incredible. I'm very curious if we're going to see the same with 6.3 or if it'll be 6.5 that brings it home. Normally the .3 is the "true" ending of the expansion, and then .4 and .5 are setup for the next expansion. Endwalker closing out the major story arc though may follow a different path.

  11. The Kojin artifacts are based on the three treasures of Japan, a mirror, a sword, and a magatama. The Japanese royal family claims they have them hidden away and some believe they are indeed magical.
Susano and tsukiyomi are of course based on the shinto gods Susano o (said like su-sa-no-oh) and Tsukiyomi (who is male) missing is their sister Amaterasu the sun goddess, odd we never had a third kami primal, there were 3 treasures.

  12. I can understand the politics/economics mumbo jumbo between Lolorito and Nanamo is not a highligh for everyone, but I personally really enjoyed that part of the MSQ for multiple reasons.

First, if there's one thing I hated in Heavensward it's how it feels like the narrative backtracked Nanamo's death, making it just a comatose state instead, bringing her back and everything is how it used to be except for Raubahn who's missing an arm. In 4.1 they finally gave her a good character progression, snapping her out of her idealism. I also really like Lolorito. It's not that much explored in the MSQ but there's a short tale in which he explains himself to Nanamo and Raubahn about is part in Teledji's failed coup d'etat, telling the Sultana how her intentions of renouncing the crown would have only brought chaos to Ulda'h while the threat of the Empire was still loomig over the nation, something I really shared as I always thought Nanamo was taking the easy and cowarly route by just renouncing her power and let the people govern themselves. Lolorito may only care about his business, but he's so pragmatic that it's hard to argue against him. That's why I loved the interaction between the two Lalafel in 4.1, because not only Nanamo managed to act like a proper ruler and earn Lolorito's respect, but it also gave a proper clousure to Raubahn and Nanamo's relationship. Besides, having the chance to see Goldbert Manderville, wearing clothes for a chance a giving some good advice to the Sultana wasn't something I was expecting but I very welcome it.

  13. I would highly recommend doing the post-Stormblood Summoner quests (And also read the "Tales from the Storm" story The First Step from the FFXIV lodestone.)
