  1. I legit had a guy argue with me for like 10 minutes that shielding was better than healing no matter what. That sch sage was a viable combo- i straight up told him relying on a crit or all ur ogcd's to keep ur tank alive is the single most dumbest way to play the game and panic healing after you run out of addersting (with the +1 on CD) and praying you crit is stupid. A lot of people don't realise that they have weaved mitigations into sch-sage shields just to justify it being a viable option for "healing"

  2. So if I pop rampart and heart of corundum is that 35% MIT? I don't understand how mitigators stack in this game if they even do at all. I typically rotate through my cds in dungeons, reprisal and arms length help a lot but I don't know how things stack.

  3. Doing The Dead Ends on my Warrior has been such a wonderful experience the past couple of weeks. I literally lost my healer and 1 DPS on the first boss and I managed to keep myself and the other DPS, a friend I was with on Discord, alive with Nascent Flash for about 80% of the boss. Just showing we didn't need the healer. Then a few days later, doing The Dead Ends again on Expert Roulette and I lost everyone on the second boss at about 40%… I just kept going and had everyone outside the arena just watching me solo the boss and never going below 50% HP. It's crazy but these have been my favorite moments, outside the MSQ, for EW so far.

  4. Thrill of Battle should be considered a mitigation too, it increases your max HP and healed HP by 20%, making it effectively increasing your EHP.

Essentially popping Thrill of Battle heals you for 20% max HP, and gives you 17% mitigation, on top of making other heals more effective. Its both a mixed of a heal and a mitigation.

The only thing is that it doesnt interact with shields as how normal mits work.

  5. As Xeno pointed out.
Before the Buster, The Buster itself, After the Buster.
Those are also the 3 steps of support.
Before the Buster = Shields and Mit
The Buster Itself = Look pretty and do damage
    After the Buster = Heal

One might argue that Mit is the During Buster but it has to still be applied before the hit so if you're being pedantic, it's before.

  6. No, the people who think Shielding is the same as Healing don't play the game. They live in the Balance Discord and shut down any criticism of DRK with all kinds of stupid shit because they're incapable of realizing that you can play something well despite its flaws, and being able to play it well doesn't make it flawless.

  7. Its been really really interesting to watch these how to tank vids as someone who started this game a year ago as a tank and whos only played tank in content. And how A LOT of my own no thought habits and no duh realization are things he’s stressing, pretty cool to see!

  8. @YouTube, let me get an option to not see these in my FFF14 feed.
Idk why, but only this channel, that i'm not subbed to, keeps filling my list, even though it shouldn't.
I'm tired of seeing clips of "This shit right here (doesn't name mechanic) )(insert graphic from other channel actually showing positioning)".
I don't wanna use the tank button, but figure it out.

  9. i think it is interesting how he mentions that shielding benefits from mitigation, but not that healing benefits from mitigation. Now i'm noob in ffxiv and this might just not be relevant in this games endgame, but 20% mitigation increases the effective healing done by 20% as well, since every point of hp is worth 20% more.
